She showed me the vacuumed rooms, the shower, the stove. Seemed fine. That night I took a closer look. There was dust in door jambs, the tops of the bathroom cabinets weren't cleaned, the top shelf in a bedroom was untouched, the floors were filthy. There were also cleaning items of mine missing. I don't usually complain, but this was too much. I emailed Jhoanna and asked for a partial refund of $100. She said no refund, but she'd come and clean. I said I would prefer the partial refund. She said it was impossible because she already paid her assistant, but she again offered to come and clean for free the following Monday. She also said the reason the shelves weren't clean is because the rooms were dark, and the floors were dirty because people had walked on them. Let me clarify, the bedrooms weren't brightly lit, but on a sunny day with a window, there was ample light to see multiple shelves. The bathrooms were fully lit, and the only person who walked on the floors was me....in socks. Anyway, I accepted her offer, said Monday didn't work, asked what other days she was free. I never heard back. When I hired her, she said house cleaning was no longer her full time job. Perhaps that's why her standards have decreased. Based on the other reviews, and what she charged, this was disappointing and completely unacceptable.

It was 2 adults and they brought their 2 teenage sons to help though the 2 adults did most of the work. They did a great job on the bathrooms but the wood floors were smudgy and sticky. I asked for the inside kitchen and bathroom cabinets cleaned. They forgot 1 bathroom cabinets but I was able to bring it to their attention and they fixed it. After they left I found 5 upper kitchen cabinet shelves were missed so I cleaned those. Also the foyer entrance stone floor had some sticky tape like residue. They didn't see that but I was able to remove it with a rough sponge. I wouldn't consider this deep cleaning. The whole house was empty so easier to clean without furniture and carpets. Most windows were done, some not. Very nice people but not as much professional cleaners as others. Next time I would get 4 adult professional cleaners for $100 an hour but they weren't available on my time frame being I live out of state and here to get the house on the market due to a death in the family. A couple of folks recommended Kavalla Clean, and there are ample reviews online, so I thought they would be a reliable choice. I was in contact initially via facebook, and scheduled the cleaning over the phone with Chris' wife. The day before our cleaning was scheduled, I asked if we could push it back a couple of hours as we still had some packing to do, and they were very accommodating. On the day of the cleaning, Chris called to let me know he was on the way, and I would say from start to finish the entire process took almost 2.5 hours. He and Rachel were both very friendly and easy to work with. I didn't examine the job that they did prior to making payment, but total cost came to $240, since they charge an hourly rate of $50 per person, per hour, and had two people doing the cleaning. I did leave a tip as well, as I'm honestly not sure what proper protocol is. When they left, I did a brief walk through of the house to see how it looked, and overall everything looked shiny and clean. I did notice a couple things right away though - the wall next to our shower still had visible dust on it, which I think probably should have been wiped, and the door leading outside had not been touched at all. This was where they had their coats hung up though, so I think that may have just slipped their mind. I was specifically looking to see how clean the floors and baseboards were and those both looked great. Fast forward a couple of days to our closing, and while my husband was finishing emptying some odds and ends in the basement, he noticed several other things that didn't appear to be touched. He noticed that the dust on one of the bedroom ceiling fans was still visible, and there was some dust visible around one of the doorways, the granite vanity top in the bathroom didn't appear to be cleaned well, nor the mirror over the vanity. Since our house was completely empty upstairs, one would think this would be a fairly easy job in terms of cleaning everything as there wasn't any clutter or furniture to work around. I was definitely happy that I didn't have to worry about doing a thorough cleaning prior to leaving and I think we left the house in a very nice, clean condition, but I think in this case the cost for us wasn't completely justified or necessary. Definitely a learning experience for sure. Going forward, we will most likely utilize a cleaning company that charges a flat rate rather than a per hour cost.
