The service was warm, welcoming, kind, loving and generous, no matter who was helping me. They made it practically effortless to rent the U Haul truck (which I used in town) and the special fee for the storage unit was a very good deal. I kept primarily light-weight furniture in my unit (climate controlled) until I could pick up the furniture and transfer it to my new home a few hours away. Wonderful experience all around. Regarding the storage unit, for the unit I rented, the main door that goes to the outside (not the storage unit door) had to be opened manually (doorstop was available) and there was a stationary metal box on the ground to maneuver around while wheeling in the items for storage. That wasn't as comfortable as other storage units I have rented from, but, for me, the integrity and consistency and fairness of the staff more than made up for extra maneuvering. If you have wide or heavy items/furniture, I would suggest taking a look at the path to your unit and making sure it's adequate for your needs before deciding on a unit. Again, I can't say enough good about this company and desk staff, as well as the gentleman who takes care of the facilities. Thank you, Simply Storage. You really lightened my load through a process that needed ample TLC (tender loving care).

I'm 71, and these broken doors caused me to load and unload from over 100 yards from my locker on many occasions. Once or twice I could understand, but this was so often it's clear they just don't care enough to fix it. Staff was nice enough but ultimately unable to do anything. Also, they did not always open on time, and were not always on premises during business hours, leaving a sign on the door. Myself and others have left, and I strongly suggest staying away until they get their act together.

The manager of Public Storage on Business Drive in Fredericksburg, Virginia, broke my lock after I…read morewas late on a payment that is due on the first, even though I paid a few weeks later. As a result, I lost access to my unit, while she had full access because she broke my lock. When I regained access the following month, around 20 boxes were stolen. Most of my boxes had been opened, and many of my breakable items were thrown all over the floor. I reported this, but she kept quiet and did nothing. Another time, I had to call 911 and reported her to the BBB because she refused to allow me to pay by credit card and was making sure I could not pay so she could take over my unit. I had to call the police to stop her. It felt like highway robbery. I reported her, but she is still there, and the higher office did not take any action. She breaks locks so customers lose access while she gains full access to their belongings. She lives in the facility and is there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
