I really liked it because not only did they put on a great FREE fireworks show on Thursday (July 3rd) evening, but even during Saturday's headliner (Howie Day) it wasn't even close to mildly crowded and the sound was actually really good. We liked the music acts so much that we actually came by twice in one day to catch this ZZ-Top sounding band along with Howie Day and a fun girl cover band that all play in the Fred P Hall outdoor Amphitheater (Palatine's hidden gem). The fest food is nothing to write home about beyond the slices from JJ Twiggs. Otherwise you're stuck with like 6 different quesadilla and fried food vendors. Soda and water is $1, and there's a beer tent with various Miller and Mike's Hard products. We chose to BYO in a discreet thermos, but I don't actually know if that's allowed or not. There are some vendor tents but we avoided those altogether- seemed like a few church things and pampered chef vendors, homemade loom type things. There was this really cool wood carving guy but since I'm moving soon we tried not to fall in love with any extra wares. I think the biggest draw of the fest is the kid-friendly factor teamed up with the rides, which ranged from tot-friendly to downright terrifying, but I really have to give it up to this fest because I did not think it was possible to transform this park in to such an massive entertainment and amusement park.

There are so many pieces of pottery to choose from. Everything from kitchenware to holiday items, to potted plants. The choices of colors are endless. Its BYOB, so we enjoyed a few sips of wine and painted, and it was very relaxing! Once you are done painting your piece, you will get it back within 2-3 weeks after it has been cured. We elected to use CAKE Village as our painting vendor because they offered us a very fair price and were super helpful. I was in constant contact with Lande to plan our event and she did a great job with everything. We had decided on painting the Chicago skyline. Our event had 50 people and literally everyone's painting looked beautiful. Lande came to our event with 2 other instructors and they all did wonderfully at guiding us with our own unique masterpieces. All of our guests had an absolutely amazing time, and would love to do something like this again. I will definitely make it a point to visit their actual location to enjoy their services as well. I highly recommend using the CAKE village for their painting instruction for large events, they can definitely handle the job! They will also work with you in order to get exactly what you want/need.

I signed a contract for a 30 minute performance with 2 dancers and a fire dance portion. After my contract was signed and my payment made in full the contact Chris tried to change the time then tried to change the service. Fast forward to a week prior and the fire dance was cancelled by Aloha Chicago. I was told to compensate we would have dancers available after the 30 mintues for photos. No option for a refund or longer show when the fire portion was $100 value. The day of the event the dancers only performed 2 songs then took 10 mins on audience participation before making themselves available another 10 minute for photos. In total the 2 song performance was 10 minutes, not 30. The entire experience was infuriating! The result for the price was outrageous. For $500 paid in full more than a month in advance I expected more than 2 songs by the dancers!! I reached out to my contact Chris with zero response still more than a week later.
