I've attended estate sales from a lot of the major estate sale companies throughout San Diego,…read moreOrange County, and Los Angeles, and Integrity First Sales has become my favorite. As a shopper, it's easy to see why their sales stand out: warm welcomes, genuine enthusiasm for each sale, fair pricing, beautiful staging, great photography and social media, and a fun environment that makes people want to come back. I've been on both sides of the estate sale process -- as a shopper, and also helping deal with a family estate -- and I can honestly say I would recommend them both to families looking for someone trustworthy to handle a sale and shoppers looking for beautiful, interesting finds. I've been going to their sales for over a year now, probably at least a dozen of them, and I've spent many thousands of dollars there on everything from antiques and collectibles to things I just needed around the house. Diana and Teri are sisters and co-owners, and their family is involved too -- their mom Judith and Teri's daughter Antonia. It really does feel like a family-run business in the best way. They are warm, hardworking, organized, honest, and very good at what they do. Their pricing is fair, and the environment is fun to shop. They do price some of the more unique or high-quality items on the higher side at first, but that makes sense to me. Those pieces deserve a chance to bring a strong price, especially on day one, and like most estate sales, pricing may be adjusted later if something hasn't sold. One of the things I love most is that they seem to care about the story behind the home. When it makes sense, they honor the person who lived there and collected those things over a lifetime. That part really matters to me. Their sales can get very busy, and I've personally watched them deal with big crowds, pressure, and people who are not always behaving well. They still manage to keep things moving, keep it fair, and keep the mood fun. Honestly, "grace under pressure" is the phrase that comes to mind because that is how they all are. I especially want to mention Antonia because I've seen her at the jewelry counter many times, and that is probably one of the most intense spots at any estate sale. People can get pushy and competitive around jewelry and valuables. I've always seen her be firm, organized, fair, and kind, even when customers were clearly out of line. There is a difference between being rude and holding boundaries in a chaotic environment. Another thing worth mentioning is that they have a great reputation. I hear good things about them not just from shoppers, but even from people who work in the estate sale world, which says a lot. Whether you are hiring someone to run a sale or just shopping their sales, I think Integrity First Sales is one of the best. They have earned my trust, my repeat business, and my enthusiastic recommendation.

I have been to a few of their sales, and have always felt like things could run better and the…read moreservice could be better, especially of how expensive things are. I don't mind paying $ for things I like. Last year I went to my neighbors estate sale, she has passed. I overheard them talking about how some girl found a bottle of crown royal (apparently it was worth money) and thank goodness they were able to make something up to not give it to her. She took the other bottles. I took a photo of the bottle and later found it for over $1,600. They made up an entire story how the kids wanted that bottle, I can assure you, I know them and they didn't. Just felt off. Yesterday three things stuck out to me that were just not kind. I got there at 7 am and was the first 10 people who was able to get inside. She posted a video saying over 100 people were waiting in line at opening. This was not true, it was closer to 50-60. Maybe after 11 they had more but at 9 it wasn't that full. I came there specifically for a brown set of flatware I saw online. I was THE FIRST ONE IN THE KITCHEN and it wasn't there. I asked and they said someone bought it. No one checked out with it. I waited. I guarantee you these ladies pick through and get what they want before sales day. 100%. No integrity in that. The most bothersome was a gentleman who spent OVER $3,000! The attitude he got from the women ringing him out was beyond me. Poor guy didn't speak English well and he just tried his best. Terrible! She also overcharged him $182, I'm a math queen, and that was horrible. If someone is spending that kind of money day one, you should be very kind to him. Anyway, plenty of other estate sales that I think have true integrity and don't steal alcohol and items others woke up early to purchase.

Every step was an exercise in how to manage a customer and overdeliver. The sale itself they executed surprisingly well considering the strong headwinds generated by an obstructive HOA that tried to sabotage the sale at every turn. They sold so many things that I was convinced would not sell, and, the post sale service continued to surpass expectations. They delivered a highly itemized accounting of every item sold and I was able to deposit the proceeds from the sale within days as opposed to the weeks they technically had to deliver them. My last thought is about trust. An estate company has to inherently be trustworthy because there are so many ways that an unscrupulous one could take advantage. I had lost an item before the sale that I asked them to keep an eye out for. The item was rare and worth a considerable sum. A less honest company or team could have easily found it and kept it, as I had essentially chalked it up lost. Instead, I found it nearly tucked away for me to find when I returned. A death in the family left us with a house that needed to be cleared out. Our real estate agent…read morereferred us to a couple estate sale companies, including Grason's. After a very unprofessional phone conversation with the first company, we called Grason's and spoke to Nick, who said his associate Marcus would call us to give us all the details. Marcus called back shortly and couldn't have been more helpful. We arranged to meet him at the house, and after a thorough walk thru it was determined that an estate sale would be appropriate - it would be on the smaller side, but Marcus thought we would come out ahead. Marcus helped us with the contract details, did another thorough inspection of the items, took pictures, and set up a great listing on their website. The following week was our estate sale, and Marcus and his crew did an amazing job organizing everything. From the beginning we were concerned as to whether or not we would end up making any money on the sale, but after seeing everything organized and displayed we were more confident. The first day of the sale was slow...a second day had already been scheduled, but Marcus said he would be willing to run the sale for a third day if necessary. As it turned out, almost everything sold on the second day. The little bit that was left was taken away by Marcus and his crew, and the home was left neat and clean. I can't say enough about the level of professionalism and customer care that I saw from Marcus. He was there at every step, answering every question patiently. After the sale he personally delivered some of the furniture that had been purchased, and seemed just as happy as we were to learn that we had made a nice profit. The few glitches that arose before/during/after the sale were handled calmly and professionally by Marcus. He made a "difficult" situation easy to deal with...and for that I will be eternally grateful. Thank you Marcus, for a job well done!!!
