We have had their assistance twice now in the span of a few months. They came out for an emergency for an AC breaker that kept tripping and then we hired them again to update our electrical panel and service to 200A. Scott and his team were professional, helpful, educational, and had the best quote of the companies we contacted. They definitely did a good job apprising us of the work they were going to do and did, and teaching us about what were fire hazards and dangers to be aware of without being pushy about services. Scott was kind to come back to our home twice when we had a power failure after their work -- one of those times being not their fault, so he was annoyed but still a good sport about it. The only thing that was a little inconvenient was the scheduling. They were going to come back the next day after the panel upgrade to put in an electrical plug for our stove, saying logistically it helps when there's an inspection. Since our schedules are typically busy, that wasn't the most convenient thing but Scott worked around our schedule but that did mean the project got done later than we anticipated. We also thought he could have been a little more flexible with the contact person since my husband was out of town he still only contacted him even when I gave him my number. But overall these little inconveniences were minor compared to the great service and quality work we received for what we paid. We were looking for a Whole House Fan Co. , because we had one in our former house and loved it. If you've never seen a Whole House Fan work, you literally have to see it to believe it. You open up a couple of windows, and the fan sucks the cold air in. Wonderful to use in the spring and summer on cooler mornings or cooler evenings. The process was incredibly simple, the guy came out to give the initial bid and look at the attic. My attic space wasn't huge, but he figured out a central place to put it. The installation was scheduled about 10 days later. Three guys came out, it took about one hour, and they cleaned up after themselves, which was much appreciated. Seriously, don't even think about going with another electrician. Selsor Electric has the best electricians out there. Our house is old. Our electrical wiring is confusing and complicated. Half our house had power, the other half didn't. The parts that had power had areas that didn't have power and vice-versa. It was a mess. We contacted 3 other electricians to come out. They were all confused. They spent serious time trying to fix the issue, but they were all at a loss. They all suggested just tearing out the wiring and redoing everything. My wife and I were frustrated. We got ahold of Scott from Selsor and he came out. First, his was the only company to truly analyze the situation. They went into our attic (not an easy space to get to), they evaluated issues that the other companies didn't even think of. Selsor was the first company I contacted when I wanted to put in a whole house fan. They were highly recommended by numerous Fresno residents on Next-door and one individual who particularly seemed to know what he was talking about. I don't know if I got the best price available but the project turned out great. Since it's completion the air conditioner has run very little. Today it was 108 and the air conditioner didn't come on until about 6 o'clock at night and then it didn't run very long. Most of the day the house stayed at about 78 degrees or lower. Recently I purchased a large home that was built in 1953. I moved into this new house and was swamped with projects. I'd capped off the gas line in the kitchen to the old stove/oven since a high-end induction oven was being delivered the next day. I'd called 3 other electricians none of which returned my call. Not only did Scott communicate promptly, he stopped by Home Depot getting the necessary plug before coming by and fixing the box upgrading it with the correct plug. He really went out of his way! I could not have been more happy working with Scott from Selsor Electric! Not only is he the owner/operator of his business, he is a dedicated tradesman who follows up, communicates well and will actually stand by any work that he does. I've used him 3 times now with projects ranging from chasing down an electrical shorts, wiring switches and outlets (upgrading to Decora 'rocker panel'), installing fan boxes into 2 rooms (up into the attic he goes) and most recently, completely changing out and upgrading the house electrical sub panel from the 1950s. An entire wall of outlets and switches were out in the master bedroom and a breaker in the panel could not be reset. Scott sluthed it down by testing one source after another. Finally he chased it down to a bad wire on one outlet that was arcing. The disturbing background thought that the house was going to burn down was lifted with the knowledge it was caught, fixed properly and the breaker was no longer being triggered. These things were all part of the very reasonable bid I worked out with Scott. Even the county inspector who examined the panel/wiring and signed off on the permit said 'he did beautiful work.' "Some of the better work he's seen." Scott also has the ability to scale-up additional help needed for larger jobs, like the subpanel here where he had 2 additional helpers for the day. Scott was easy to work with, fielding questions and offering advice as was needed. He followed up with emails and texts after hours, got quotes out quickly and has a REALLY slick invoicing and billing program using Quickbooks. That allows you to pay via debit or credit card (cash back), print out invoices from an email. So easy! When another company threw a subpanel bid out, it did NOT include permits, a copper grounding rod, the actual box etc. I also learned that the individual who came out (the owner) would NOT be the person doing the work. Despite meeting with me onsight to review the work, the owner did not mention this and I had to ask the questions. This other company also bragged about their thriving business, how long they'd been around and promised that they would email me an official (not casual) estimate. They never did... Talk is cheap. I can only imagine the nightmare that might have been with unsupervised sub-contractors being tossed the work and NO continuity or follow up. Just passing it off down the line.. In way of encouragement to you, Scott, keep up the great work, service and follow up that makes you a standout in an industry that sometimes seeks to just get by doing the minimum! You are a total professional! As always, ultimately, I thank the Lord for His blessings in plugging me in with the right people with high standards to see these projects though, the wisdom to attend to important things that are integral to a project (and may not be 'showy' like floors or paint), and for the resources to do these projects. Reached out to WholeHouse Fan booth at an event I was attending. After discussion was given a brochure to take home and read. I did this along with discussing with relatives. After a couple of phones calls and 2 house visits, opted to go with WholeHouse Fan/Selsor Electric. The installers were prompt and very efficient. Completed the job within 1 1/2 hours. Before leaving they went over the operation of the remote. The installers were also very efficient in cleaning up. I can say that the noise level of the fan when it is on high is more than I thought it would be but not enough to interrupt my activities within the house or my sleep!
