Don't come to the Candyland Sports Complex expecting Gum Drop Mountain or a Peppermint Forest…read more Instead you will find a comprehensive recreational complex for the residents of Longwood. Candyland Park is located in one of Longwood's older residential areas. The land was part of John Neill Searcy's original homestead grant. He also donated the land for the nearby Longwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery which abuts the park and it is where he was laid to rest. Candyland Park was named as a companion park to Longwood's former Peppermint Park. Candyland Park came to be in the early 70's as a place for a second set of baseball fields and tennis courts for the growing suburb. The Skylark subdivision was platted in 1972 and it began construction in 1973, north of the Longdale neighborhood. The City of Longwood required that five percent of the land be set aside for recreation. Candyland was chosen as the name because it went went with the already named Peppermint Park. Peppermint Park was closed and dismantled when the city built a new police station in 1985. Today Candyland Park is a 17.5-acre community park with a variety of sports and recreational amenities. There is a softball field, two minor league Babe Ruth baseball fields, a full-size Babe Ruth Baseball field, t-ball field, two practice fields, one tennis court, six pickleball courts, two full basketball courts, a futsal court, modular skate park, a BMX/Skate Pump Track, two picnic pavilions, picnic tables, and grill, and a playground. There are also bleachers, and a restroom and concession stand building. Candyland Park is a hub to bring the community together for skating, playing sports, and outdoor recreation.

This beautiful and well maintained park offers an array of recreational amenities. Sports enthusiasts will appreciate the basketball, softball, tennis, and racquetball courts along with a soccer on the multipurpose field. As a nature lover I enjoyed the many boardwalks with views of the lake and the sidewalk which meanders through the entire park. It is perfect for walking for exercise and I saw the cutest marsh rabbit as I made my way through the park. There are also two fishing piers. Kids will spend hours playing and on the two imaginative playgrounds. Secret Lake Park is also home to the recently renovated Casselberry Recreation Center which has a main room, ballroom, billiards room, computer room, outdoor deck area, activity room, and outdoor pavilions. The recreation center offers many programs from youth to senior. They include exercise, yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba, and dance classes. The park is also the host of several beloved Casselberry traditions like the HOWL-O-WEEN Dog Walk-a-Thon and Canine Costume Contest, Art & Music in the Park & Food Truck Bazaar, and the Casselberry Easter Egg Hunt. I really enjoyed my visit to Secret Lake Park. It is the perfect outdoor recreation destination for families, fitness seekers, and sports lovers. You can go for peaceful stroll, play basketball, or watch the kids play safely. The scenic lakeside views, comprehensive recreational programs, and variety of amenities add to the charm and versatility of this park.

Merrill Park seems to be set around baseball and softball fields and the fields are well-kept, as is the whole park. Italso had a pavilion (were I enjoyed my lunch), a children's playground and more. It also had a nice amount of parking. If you are into baseball or softball, this will definitely be up your alley. We need parks a d athletic fields in our communities and Altamonte Springs is lucky to have Merrill Park.

Merrill Park is a lovely little gem of a park that is nestled in the heart of Altamonte Springs, FL…read morenear the Altamonte Mall. I found out about this park because I came with my wife, our son, and our granddaughter for a playdate. The park is home to the Altamonte Fast Pitch Academy and Babe Ruth Softball. They have three full size softball fields that are used for the softball academy, for Babe Ruth Softball, and you can also use them to practice on as well. Located between the three fields is a concession stand and the restrooms. What I really lived about this park is the three playground areas they have, each playground has their own set of things for kids to play on and a different theme for each area. They also have a swing-set area which includes a swing that you can sit in with your child and be able to swing together. There are also to pavilion areas for you to choose from one is called Oak Pavilion and the other is the Beach Pavilion which has two beach volleyball courts for you to play volleyball on which is a nice touch. Lastly I love the scenery of the park it has lots of great looking trees around the park. So if you are ever in the Altamonte, FL area and you want a nice secluded park to take your family to then I would recommend Merrill Park.

Top Notch Place. Lebron's Batting Cages is family owned…read more The owner Lebron him self is an outstanding guy, the prices here are the best in town. These guys know what they are doing by putting the customer first. Will be a repeat customer and telling everyone about them!

Dad & Son, theme of the day Baseball!!!…read more This review will be quick and to the point. For an indoor batting area it is basic, it has pitching machines with practice balls, red and partly rubber. Pricing is about the same as anywhere, but maybe a little high for this experience. We got the 10 tokens 75 balls for 24$ They have both higher and lower token counts, but this one was most worth it to us. They have helmets and bats if you don't have any or just want to stop by, helmet padding is definitely in need of replacement in almost all the helmets, just FYI. The counter person was very friendly and she explained everything with ease. The reason for the 3 star rating and not more is the fact that the pitching machines are very close, so this is more of a make contact batting cage rather than see where your ball goes as it seems to be only about 25 feet between the machine and the boxes. They do have 6 cages ranging in speeds and types: softball/fast pitch & baseball Also there were a few times that we only received 10 pitches as the machine would run out of balls and the machines still count the ghost pitches so you lose some of the cuts you should've received. There is also a huge space with 2 volleyball courts and what looks to be a gymnastics area. Placed seemed fairly clean, bathrooms were well kept, but basic. They have vending machines for drinks/snacks. Also this place looks like it's in a line of warehouse so don't be fooled by all the bay doors they are there. I also suggest parking across/away from the front of the building when we came out my car was covered in a white mist of something, so I had to get my car washed. All in all if you just want to work on contact with the ball this place works, but if you want more of an immersive experience you may want to try 406!!! If we go again I will take puctures!!!
