This cozy, locally owned shop is a rare find in today's big-box world. It's owned and run by Mike himself, a walking encyclopedia of instruments, gear, and good vibes. I'd never been to this store and I needed some help with shipping an instrument to Germany. Not exactly Mike's field but he was more than willing to help and sure did. From the moment I walked in, Mike made me feel welcome rather than just another customer even though I was asking him for something he hadn't done before. I left my bass guitar at his store, he packed it and printed out the label he received via email from Germany and allowed it to sit in his store since I had no way to move and store it until the freight company picked it up. He also re-stringed my guitar which now sounds and looks like new. It's not just a store--it's a community hub for music lovers. Support this local legend. The big box music chains have their place, but I like this local guitar shop. Seminole Music is staffed by working musicians (who also happen to be gifted teachers) with broad real world experience and deep academic knowledge of music. And they're also pretty good people. read more

The team at Seminole Music is very friendly and always willing to strike up a conversation. While I haven't purchased an instrument from them, I take guitar lessons. Since I usually arrive early, I've watched the staff interact with customers buying band instruments for school. I can't say enough great things about this store. I spent 4 hours there today playing their inventory of acoustic guitars. Jeff went above and beyond to help me find what I was looking for. I have to do a little research before making a large purchase so even though I didn't buy anything yet, Jeff still made me feel important and valued as a customer and he was patient and kind. Their prices are fantastic! The guitar I'm hoping to buy is competitively priced, $100 less than other guitar stores and on line. While I was there today I interacted with two other employees both also very friendly! This store has a small town community feel, everyone is welcomed. It doesn't have that pretentious vibe that some music stores feel like. This store also offers music lessons and layaway. read more

Just love this shop ! These guys are the best ! Down to earth and very knowledgeable. They know their stuff & can guide you to what's best for your particular needs. When ever I'm in town it's a must stop. They carry the current gear and some hard to find pieces. Forget GC or Sam what's their name. This Is simply one of the best neighbor hood shops around. Don't waste your time with the big box joints. If it's great gear at great prices with the correct knowledge then this is the place. I found what I needed today. Once again ... I have had different 2 issues with this place. I had been using Seminole for a couple years when I first moved to FL in 2000. I rember this like it was yesterday. In 2002, the Thursday after my birthday (22nd) in early November, I went in after work in Johns Pass (around 5:00) long before they were to close. I had been eyeing an American Fender Jazz for quite a while and have been saving my pennies. I asked the sales rep to get one down, I wanted to compare the 2 there I liked. The sales rep said he would not get it down for me unless I was buying it because he would then have to clean it and put it back. I asked for the manager, he said he was the manager. I pulled out the $1400 in cash I had on me and started to count it. He immediately realized what he did and tried to apologize. Needless to say I walked out and bought my beautiful Jazz from Johnny's down on Central in St Pete that night (unfortunately they aren't around anymore). When I called to complain the manager on shift basically said that is their policy and I should've come in in the afternoon! I went back a few years ago in 2014-2015 because I needed strings and they were close. I was eyeing an amp head and asked the sales guy about possibly a partial trade with my SVT 3pro for it, and was told quote " we don't want your shit gear here". The guy wasn't joking either. It was rude and uncalled for. The staff look down on people and are typical a-hole narcissistic musicians. I don't know all of them, I'm sure some are nice. But that attitude starts from the top. But it's Just like the old joke.... How many singers does it take to change a lightbulb... 1 and the world revolves around it. There are several locally owned music stores in a 10 mile radius from there. They appreciate their customers and don't feel they are owed your money. I am in several bands in the area. I repeat this story to everyone who asks about local stores. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THERE AGAIN! read more
