Do not listen to Carlos or Renaldo. Deceptive salesmen who could not take no for an answer. Carlos overall is predatory and doesnt know how to do his job and instead made me feel like we were at a bar and I was forced into a conversation about my love life. Thats when he got his first no. Heavy breathing and couldnt take no for an answer. Im young and know my own budget, when Carlos said he was helping me, I could smell that salesman breath. Taking a car for a small ride shouldnt mean being bombarded, lied to and overall manipulated into a car I did not ask for. My 2018 was getting serviced and then the salesmen over serviced me. After a ride we got numbers and then Carlos received a second no with me happily walking away. He stops me and asks to wait to talk to somebody whos going to, "help." Woof. My car was being serviced so Carlos had me by myself and brought along the sales manager Renaldo, because Renaldo had to find out why I was walking away. Renaldo had to SAVE Carlos from losing the sale and when he came to talk to me, lied and insisted that paying off my car would only harm my credit. Closing lines of credit is bad for you. Lie after lie. Carlos got a total of 3 nos, with the final being with his sales manager who "had to come in to talk to me." Pushy. I shook the sales managers hand, said no thanks and thank you for the hard work (all of their numbers were no where I asked them to be) and finally left the chaos. Or so I thought. Renaldo got that one no and still ran to Toyota financing behind my back to find a "better number." A lack of respect and pushing of boundaries, I was lied to again saying the number I saw also covered gap and maintenance. The repeated lies that I was harming myself and their predator tactics worked. I was exhausted, alone and after saying no three times, they insisted I was in the wrong. Well I was in the wrong, for ever listening to them. Congratulations to Carlos and Renaldo who go their first sale of the month of May 2026, off a 24 y/o college student who said no 3 times and about a year and a half away from paying off their first car. Adding double the payoff price of my previous car on top of the sticker price adding 7 more years of hell to pay off. I left feeling heavier after the finance manager told me the number offered had no gap or maintenance. I had to add that in myself after falling into the bears trap. All their overbearing nonsense finally made no sense to me. They "happily" bought my car with only 7k left without happily telling me that it would cost me 14k on top of the sticker price!!! Vicious intent and lied the whole way through. "They would do the same for their daughters," boy their daughters must be unlucky cause I sure was. At the end Carlos offered to take a photo... with his phone and then insisted to keep it without sending it to me. Weird. I had to ask him to take a photo with my phone, I really dont understand why he needed that photo of me. Oh back to the beginning, his first no was due to his heavy breathing flirting. He could add the photo on this review because Im sure he still has it, I fixed my budget but boy they through a wrench in my life. A huge thank you to Gustavo Niemes! After my husband was recently involved in a serious accident with his work vehicle, we were left sharing just one car. On top of that, we made the big decision--after 10 years--to trade in our Jeep (which had so many miles) and purchase two vehicles. Gustavo was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. From start to finish, he made sure we were happy and got exactly what we were looking for. We truly appreciated his kindness and the genuine care he showed us--especially knowing he's a fellow Christian. If I had to say one negative thing was that the gas tank wasn't full when we drove off the lot--definitely something to double-check, especially with a new car. Other than that, the experience was smooth and surprisingly low-stress, even for someone who might get dealership anxiety. This has honestly been one of the most ridiculous car-buying and ownership experiences I've ever had. When I purchased the car, financing started off great -- they even beat my credit union's rate. Unfortunately, that was the only positive part of this experience. First, the sales associate couldn't even drive my manual GR86 to put gas in it. I'm genuinely confused how someone can sell cars and not know how to drive a manual. After purchasing, I had to call five separate times just to get my account and financing information so I could start making payments. I never received a callback, couldn't reach the finance manager I worked with, was transferred repeatedly, and had multiple calls dropped. Then came the service department issues. I attempted to schedule a break-in service around 2,800 miles -- something that is widely recommended for this car and discussed extensively on GR forums. The person on the phone told me she had never heard of a break-in service. Every new car I've owned has had some form of early service recommendation, and past dealerships knew exactly what I was referring to. She told me to wait until 5,000 miles. There is also a sticker on my windshield from the day I purchased the car stating: "Your first complimentary factory service is due at 5,000 miles or six months." So I scheduled an appointment online (where all my vehicle information was clearly entered) and showed up at 5,070 miles. Once there, I was told my car was not due for an oil change until 7,500 miles, which is absurd given how this car is driven. I explained that I drive the car hard and wanted the oil changed early. They refused -- not only the complimentary service, but they wouldn't even let me pay for an early oil change. When I asked for a service manager, he doubled down and said break-in service is a "myth", which is shocking to hear from a Toyota service department -- especially for a performance vehicle. They also claimed that doing an early oil change would somehow "mess up" my maintenance schedule, which makes zero sense. I've owned BMWs and never once had an issue getting an oil change early -- they simply adjust the schedule. After wasting two hours driving to and dealing with this dealership, I left without an oil change. To make things even worse, the service manager then claimed that the windshield sticker referring to complimentary service actually meant tire rotation only, not an oil change. Who buys a brand-new car and expects the first complimentary service to be only a tire rotation? The lack of knowledge, poor communication, dismissive attitudes, and refusal to help with a simple request is unbelievable. I've never had this many issues buying or servicing a new car anywhere else. I will never buy another vehicle from Toyota again and I strongly recommend avoiding Seminole Toyota. DO NOT come here and don't make the mistake I made. They almost ruined my car. Save yourself the stress and money. I brought my car here for an oil change. The gentleman helping me (we'll say his name was *Redacted*) started surveying my car and immediately told me I might have a coolant leak. I knew this was a lie as I had just done work on the car myself and had checked the radiator as well as the coolant reservoir. I needed my wiper fluid reservoir checked because I knew it was cracked and leaking, it was just difficult to get to. *Redacted* tells me I need a $150 diagnostic test done if I want this looked at. Most places will do this for $80 or less (and sometimes even free), so $150 is an absurd amount. I decline. He tells me he'll tell his guys to just "take a look at it". They never looked at it and gave me no information back. I also tell him about a couple codes that came up on the dashboard, but he tells me they can not look at it unless I pay for a full inspection due to "legal reasons". I ask him to just top off fluids, fill my tires, do an oil change, and that's it. As I'm waiting, *Redacted* comes out and tells me that I have a nail in my tire, and asks if I'd like them to plug it. The cost is $45. Most places will do this for $10-$20. I say "sure". Not even two minutes later, he comes back and tells me I have a SECOND NAIL in the same tire! At this point I'm lost and ask him to show me. He brings me into the shop and shows me the tire and I check to make sure it is in fact mine and not some random tire. This should've been $20, but I am now paying $90 for two plugs. WAY overpriced. Now it's an old car, so it definitely needs some work, but *Redacted* comes back with an extensive list of all the things the service techs recommend I get done on the car. Transmission fluid, coolant, brake fluid, battery, new fuel injector, fuel induction, new spark plugs, etc. But where I really began to become upset was when he said I needed a new windshield. Yes, an entirely new windshield. When I asked why his response was "uhh, umm, I'm not really sure". $2000 in recommended repairs. At this point I'm ready to leave and want nothing to do with this place. I pay my $200+ bill and get in my car. Now here's the kicker. I start up my car and it rumbles and shakes and now there's a check engine light on. This was not on before. I drive to auto zone to go get a battery and do it myself. When I pop the hood I see that the air intake hose that leads into the engine is COMPLETELY unplugged (the picture was taken after I had plugged it back in). They were probably trying to check my air intake and forgot to plug it back in... OR they were hoping I wouldn't notice and wanted to charge me for some random service for something that they'd hope I wouldn't know about. Either way, completely unprofessional and unacceptable. I purchased my car here a few years ago when it used to be David Mauss Toyota and I still take my car for service here. I have always received great service and honesty from the advisors. Also, sales people don't hunt you down when they know you are there to offer you a new car. One call and that's all. I understand they need to at least try. This makes the experience much better compared to another Toyota dealership where I took my car for service a couple times. It is really annoying specially after you say no. I have always seen consistent in service here and I like the text with a link they send you to monitor the status of your car. During my last visit, I opted to stay and wait for my car. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Seminole Toyota. Shortly after purchasing my vehicle, I contacted the dealership twice by email requesting cancellation of add-on services that were included in my contract without my authorization. I have not received any response. In addition, I called the dealership a few days after the purchase and was told that the additional charges were "mandatory" in order to buy the vehicle. This is false. Add-on products are not legally required to purchase a car. I specifically spoke with the person who handled my paperwork and who had me sign the documents. Despite clearly stating that I did not want any additional services, extra products were added to my contract. The charges were not properly itemized or clearly explained. I was rushed through signing the paperwork on December 24th, and it felt like the timing of the holiday was used to push everything through quickly. There was also an excessive dealership charge for inspection that was never properly disclosed or justified. This experience feels misleading and unethical. Still Waiting -- Broken Promises and No Accountability We purchased a 2023 Toyota Highlander from this dealership in October and were promised a spare key by the finance office. The finance rep informed our salesperson, Gustavo, who confirmed that we could call in a few weeks to schedule an appointment to receive it. After calling and leaving several messages, we were told Gustavo was first on vacation, then in the hospital, and no one seemed to know what was going on. I bought my car at Seminole Toyota in Sanford, FL on October 6th, and it has been one of the worst car-buying experiences I've ever had. At first, things seemed fine -- the salesman Nelson was polite and helpful when showing me the car. But after that, everything went downhill. It took them over an hour just to find the car keys, and then another 2-3 hours before they even started the financing paperwork. By the time we began signing documents, it was already around 8 PM. Even though it was late, I stayed patient and signed everything. I was clearly told that my permanent plates would be mailed to me, since I live in Massachusetts. But since that day, the after-sale service has been a complete nightmare. My temporary plate has already expired, and nobody at the dealership is helping me. I've called multiple times -- the salesman rarely replies, and the finance department never answers the phone. Each person just keeps blaming someone else. Now I'm completely stuck -- I can't fix this issue by myself because the documents I need are still with the dealer. I can't get my registration done without them. Because of that, I've already received a ticket in Massachusetts, and I'm unable to work since I depend on my car. My wife is pregnant, close to giving birth, and she's also unable to work or get around because of this situation. They had 30 full days to complete my registration, and they simply failed to do it. On 8/27, I worked with Beatriz at this dealership, and my experience was negative. Before coming in, I asked multiple times for financing terms and made it clear I didn't want to waste anyone's time. My questions were never directly answered. Things went fine leading up to the test drive, but the issues started during negotiations. With my credit score, I expected a lower APR. I already knew for myself that I was not willing to accept anything above 6%. Instead, I was told that because I was a first-time new buyer with student debt, I would need to accept a higher rate. Rather than being transparent, I felt gaslit and disrespected. Beatriz often squinted her eyes at me with a confused look, as if I was dumb for not accepting the first offer, which was insulting. She said she'd try to adjust the APR but then asked me to sign a document agreeing to the price before showing me what the payments would look like. When I refused, she snatched the paper away, looked annoyed, and walked off. That's when I decided to leave. As I walked out, Beatriz and two other salesmen suddenly followed me outside, now saying they could honor the APR and terms I originally asked for. By then, the trust and respect were gone. I brought my 2025 Corolla LE to Seminole in mid-September for its 6-month service. I additionally wanted an oil change, and after being quoted an unacceptable price, declined the oil change. I stated that there was a noise that was apparently coming from under the car, especially when the car was warm. There is a TSB for a defective passenger side motor mount, and the part was special ordered. I also stated that there was a large discoloration on the passenger side dash, in which the letters "TOY" and the Toyota symbol were visible. This was cleaned. The Service Advisor was Nathan, and he was quite helpful getting the service performed, the dash cleaned, and the parts ordered. Part Two: Two weeks after the service visit, I called Nathan to follow up on the motor mount order. He stated that the part was on back order and he would check on the status. He called back in an hour to inform me that he had located a part, and that I could come in the next day for installation. When I arrived, I was told it would take two hours. I brought my laptop to watch a movie in the quite comfortable service lounge. The repair was complete in 1-1/2 hours. The icing on the cake is that the service dept cannot diagnose problems, has lied to us, getting our car back is always much later than promised & they will not call the extended warranty company for correct answers about what's covered. It's always "I don't know, call them!" Every time they've said they can get the "most recent problem" fixed in a day & then it takes 5 days. We even have to ask/argue for a rental car that's included in our extended warranty. We were getting 32mpg on average and then one day they did a software upgrade & our mileage dropped to 26mpg. I schedule an appointment for the service requirement/deptment and when I got there, they told me the schedule requirement service requirement was any longer required and had Expired. After driving 40 miles in an hour and a half The service agent said he was sorry but there was nothing they could do. They never offered a free car wash or a free oil change or even a cup of coffee. I have dealt with Seminole Toyota for about 5 years now and their service has never been outstanding, marginal at best. The salesperson was respectful and patient, but the finance team was extremely dishonest. When asked for clarification as to why the total increased significantly, they dismissed our concerns. Instead of openly selling add-ons (ClubPlus + MPP VSC/Service), John hid the itemized paperwork, making it difficult to understand what I was actually paying for, which totaled $4,330 of unnecessary add-ons. Preceding this was the fact that the finance manager, Derrick, requested a loan much greater than it needed to be. Moreover, they managed to slip in the Club Plus package, which we later found out is no longer in business when we tried to cancel. Therefore, the package requires the dealer to confirm cancellations, but they ignore picking up the phone, making it nearly impossible to get a resolution. John also told me that I was getting $1,000 more for my trade-in, but he didn't specify that they were also increasing the price of the new car by $1,000--essentially negating any benefit. When asked about this price increase, my concern was dismissed. When asked a second time, Derrick replied, "It's the same difference." This is a clear tactic to take advantage of buyers. Not to mention that it has been 4 weeks from purchase and my trade-in is yet to receive its payoff made by seller. This by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced purchasing a vehicle. I went to this dealership to order a new vehicle that they didn't have on the lot. I explained that I needed to order one and the young man helping me said he needed to get his manager to help.... No big deal, I explained to him my request. He goes to his office and 20 minutes later I go to his desk and he says we don't have any on the lot. Duh, I explained that I knew that. So I gave them an opportunity to email me two quotes for the product and two days later no response. What a waste of time. I went to the Toyota dealership in Deland and completed the transaction in 30 minutes. Delivery of what I want in 45 days. What a joke and a definite need to either train and or replace incompetent personnel or change their policy of not doing anything but selling current inventory and ignoring customer service. I own a business and would fire the personnel for running my organization this way. I will never step foot in this turd hole again. RIP Seminole Toyota! read more
