As a first time kayaker, I had an amazing, core memory built. I want to continue kayaking as a hobby now. The owners were very kind and instructed me on technique and proper form when rowing a kayak. My partner and I came on a calm morning with perfect weather conditions to kayak (no wind, flat water.) We got the faster kayaks and were able to kayak 2 miles going to see Hector Falls and 2 miles coming back. I truly cannot feel like I understand and know a body of water now without kayaking it first. The price for 2 hours was $52, but given it is the famous, Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes region, I feel it's warranted and definitely worth it. During our stay in the Finger Lakes, for both of us, this was one of our absolute favorite things to do on the trip. When we come back, we will definitely visit this business again. Great little kayak place and wonderful place to paddle around and explore the lake. They had equipment that fit our middle schooler and high schooler - equipment and life jackets were new and clean. Guys running the place were very chill and gave us great tips on kayaking to the waterfall and avoiding jet skis in the middle of the lake. Sooo worth it - there were plenty of kayaks and the staff was amazing!! Super friendly and helpful - it was my dog's first time going in a kayak so they spent time kitting him out in a life jacket that fit properly and finding a larger kayak to accommodate the three of us and were super encouraging in general. If you like to be active in vacation I highly recommend booking a kayak trip. We went on a weekday morning and there were about a dozen of us. Lexi was our guide. If you are unfamiliar with kayaking come early and get used to paddling in the area until ready for departure. It was a clear sunny day on the water. A fun and refreshing way to spend a few hours on the lake! Paul the owner is very chill and friendly. His mom helps run the rental as well, and she is the sweetest lady. He has a "shipload" of available kayaks, both 1 and 2 seaters. We took single seat kayaks out for about 2 hours and it was a great time. Definitely hope to come back this summer! We enjoyed a 2 1/2 hour tour of the east side of the lake up to Hector Falls and back to the park. The kayaks were clean and he has plenty of choices to choose from. Kayaking in Watkins Glen, then this is the place to go. Paul is super friendly. His kayaks are very well maintained. He makes sure to take special care for people without prior kayaking experience, is very patient and there is no rush rush about the tours. I've rented kayaks in many different places, this was by far the best rental of all. We took a tour to a restaurant in a Marina (1.5 mile total ride). There were two guys working it, both very friendly. The tour guide did a great job and made the trip enjoyable. Rained on the way back, owner offered to pick us up but we paddled back to the dock for the experience. Definitely worth the trip. read more

Amazing, amazing amazing!!! Our day was rainy and super windy but it was the most amazing experience. Paul and his niece were amazing! They were kind, funny and wonderful. We started off our trip with a safety lesson and some chuckles where Paul tried to learn our names and failed epically. He joked that even though he explained all of this before hand we would forget it all when we got to the water but we assured him that we would make him proud. Lo and behold, one in our group who for the purposes of this review we shall name Claudia, started drifting to the center of the lake because apparently her hands were not made for paddling, they were only made for waving maniacally at others. Paul went after our lost friend disregarding our pleas that she should "take one for the team" (kidding). He towed her back with the group where we then joined up all of our boats together which was like trying to parallel park in water. Quite nutty. We made it and held on to each other to be rewarded with story time. Many moons later, we kayaked along the coast toward the beautiful Hector falls. We got out out of our handy dandy kayaks and admired the beautiful falls and thought wow, this was most certainly worth it but sneaky Paul had a surprise in store for us. We were able to climb the falls and get pictures in the falls itself and gallop around like little kids who were just given a world of candy. It was FAB U LOUS! After our parade of corny poses under the falls, we began the journey of our upwind travel back to our origins. Right off the bat, Claudia's kayak which was apparently controlling her, decided it wanted to go to the middle of the lake again and Paul in his magnaimousness tied off our paddle challenged friend to his boat and assisted her all the way back. The entire experience in itself was worth the 5 hour drive from the city. I absolutely loved every second and yes even Claudia did too who now insists that her drift to the center was to be adventurous.... Oh Claudia Claudia Claudia. ^-^" read more
