We love that there's plenty of room for picnics, whether you want to grab a table or just spread out a blanket on the grass. The park gives kids plenty to do when they're not splashing in the lake. Parking can fill up quickly on nice days, but that just shows how popular the park is. Once you're set up, it's such a relaxing place to spend the day together as a family. We always leave feeling recharged and grateful to have such a gem right here in Lacey. Just fair warning, dogs are not allowed at the beach (on the gravel) but can be walked technically on the paved grounds and on the grass. It's a pretty small lake but has lots of grass and places to sit. Just gotta get there early if you want a good spot. Also no lifeguard is on duty there.

BBQ grills, rugby/soccer fields, baseball/softball fields, basketball courts, trails, doggie doo bags, public restrooms, sand volleyball courts, tennis courts, picnic shelters, child & toddler playgrounds and a skate park. It's very well kept and still looks brand new even though it's been around since 2004 I believe. Check this place out before summer is over.

There's a lot of parking, but I wonder how impossible it gets during baseball season. There are a vcouple of walking paths around the field which aren't too long and some of it is in the shade and people keep it clean. Haven't seen a dog poop left behind yet and let's keep it that way guys, since families hang out here.

Parking is easy and soemthing like 30 feet away from the meadow, there are big trees to give you shade in the heat where the plays are held, so you have no excuses.

You can also watch the ducks swim or sometimes catch a view of a couple getting married at the Community Center. As I am a stickler for parking, if the park is busy, as it has been since it's summer and Washington has been getting it's 10 sunny days out of 365, people are out and about and grillin' n chillin'. So, the parking lot lately has been full, so you have to park in the grass directly behind the regular parking spaces. As mentioned, the grass can be muddy so if your car has a tendency to get stuck, you may not want to chance the grass. Overall, it's a great place to bring a lawn chair or a blanket and just relax.

Even though the weather didn't agree with us, we still had an enjoyable time. We purchased our tickets online a few days ahead because you get a better price that way. Each ticket is good for two separate rides. We arrived just after 10 in the morning and it was grey and overcast. The sky was very cloudy and there was a foggy mist over the mountains. It was lovely but not the best weather for sight seeing. We went ahead and rode up the mountain and back and it was fun but as you can guess the views weren't great from the gondola. About half the ride it was just like being inside frosted glass and all we could see was grey. We stayed at the top for a while but the winds were to fierce for our pup so we headed back down and spent some time eating, shopping and enjoying the area. We were hoping the weather would clear up later in the afternoon. Unfortunately for us, Mother Nature had other plans and it was cool, foggy and totally overcast all day. I wasn't even really that disappointed though because it was just so beautiful being there. It was honestly my favorite kind of weather. On our second ride, we did try riding the famous "Green Gondola". We had seen other people waiting for it on our earlier ride and asked a staff member what it was all about. They said it was just a replacement gondola so it didn't match the others exactly and we kind of laughed at how silly it is but people love things that are unique. There was no line, so we gave it a go and I'm here to tell you that it didn't part the clouds and I haven't won the lottery since riding it :) Sorry to say it is just like the red ones. Even with the weather, we made a really nice day of it and if you haven't seen this area, I would definitely recommend giving the gondola a try. I think next time we will probably risk the higher prices at the gate to make sure the weather is cooperating for the ride.
