She was discharged to Hillside for rehab in late May 2025 and was there for a little more than 5 weeks (until early July). Thanks to the great care she got from nurses/CNAs/aides, PT/OT department, the dietician, the activities director and virtually everyone she met, mom made a remarkable recovery and is now home and regaining her independence. As she told just about everyone she met, "I'd recommend this place to anyone." I should note that this is focused on the rehab unit, as there are other parts of the operation we did not utilize. When the hospital was ready to discharge her to rehab, I told them about this place & they reached out to see if they could take care of her medical needs. They never responded. So, I called myself & was told Darlene handles that. I spoke to her and she told me that they don't have beds for out of town people. ????? Huh???? She can no longer live in VA alone, so she would need to be where I am. STILL a "NO" from Ms. Darlene. So, I found a different rehab in VA for her. She's been there for 2 weeks & they are ready to discharge her home. Again, she can't go home & they said she will need 24/7 care. So, I reached out to Ms. Darlene yet again because the situation has changed. She needs nursing home care. This time, she didn't even bother to respond. I am confused as to how & why people from other states get penalized & not allowed to come there when they need care. If we can pay for it, what difference does it make?? She didn't care. She didn't give us a chance. And after reading the other reviews, we may be dodging a bullet. Thank you God!

After he fell and fractured his pelvis (NOT while he was under their care) and was hospitalized, they responded to our needs immediately with full time around the clock care when dad was deemed to be unsuitable for rehab and unexpectedly released by the hospital to us. They cared for him through his in-home hospice care and his eventual passing away at home, which is what he would have wanted. One of the owners, Clarence, and his wife Denise, even gladly pitched in to help when they were shorthanded, which was impressive. The owners of this company take customer service very seriously and dropped in several times to ensure that everything was going well and that we didn't have any complaints or issues that needed to be addressed. We even thought their rates were reasonable for the level of services they provided. I cannot begin to express how thankful we are for their assistance during this very difficult time in our lives. Two of their CNAs, Chi Chi and Angela, were especially exceptional, as they both are very well trained, and very warm, dedicated and caring people, and we felt so lucky to have been matched up with them as often as we were. They were so kind and supportive to my mom, and coincidentally just happened to both be there when my dad passed away (during a shift change) and they made a huge, positive impact on us and made this experience bearable. We thank you and your staff so much for all that you did for our family and for my dad. Your kindness and warmth were so appreciated. My mother has Alzheimer's disease and we want to transport her from her home in Southern Pines to where we live here in Raleigh. I immediately thought of Spring Arbor as the place for her to go.
