We love Abbotswood in Raleigh. It's the perfect place for able body adults who want to live independent lives. The staff is super friendly and easy to interact with if we have any questions. I started working here 6 months ago and am truely amazed at how nice it is, and I'm not really refering to the decor. The staff are amazing people who seem to really do what they love, i.e. prepare and serve excellent food, clean and maintain rooms, provide wellness programs and support, and look for ways to support independence and provide care for people they really care about. My sweet mother in law has lived ed at Abbottswood for two months. I can't say enough positive things about how wonderful experience has been. From the admissions people who understood our stress and made our transition there smoother than we could've ever imagined, to the hostess for the dining room, the chef and the receptionist who have made her feel so safe and secure. Prior to this she had been in a skilled nursing facility which she needed at first but then overtime they had given up on her progress. Since she's been at Abbottswood, with the help of Duke home health care, doctors making house calls, and nurse care of North Carolina she has learned to walk again, is eating in the dining room and just feels at peace What's amazing about this is the entire experience cost less than the skilled nursing home that never communicated with us and gave up on her. I would encourage anyone whose parent is able to be more independent to seek out Abbottswood. We couldn't be happier! read more

As the saying goes, I DID put my mother here. And we loved it. Abbotswood feels like so many of our parents homes; warm, cozy, lived in, clean. The staff are tops, the chef is second to none. Activities are diverse, staff super friendly and accommodating. My mom lived there after leaving a nursing home and because of Abbotswood, my mom and I got to enjoy each other in her final year. My mom has been at Abbotswood at Stonehenge for 4 years. All of the employees are professional, courteous, and informative. I moved to Arizona about a year ago, and with my mom living at Abbotswood, it gave me the peace of mind to be able to move. I know she is in great hands while I am away. The amenities are great! The transportation provided for doctors appointments two days per week are a blessing. My mom is legally blind and she (nor I) feel comfortable with her taking a taxi. Now she does not have to. I also recently moved her from an upstairs apartment to downstairs with a patio. The apartment was recently renovated and has very nice amenities in the room. I find she is getting outside more, going to more classes and events, and going on more field trips. She can go shopping, to the grocery store, and on "joy rides", all provided by Abbotswood. I can not say enough good things about this location. The staff always treat her like family! Five stars, but if I could give more I would! Thank you Abbotswood at Stonehenge! read more
