After my little foot trip to Gatineau, an arduous 16 minutes there, under half an hour within and 16 back I was dehydrated and needed a drink. So I stopped in here, I ordered the wings and fries. I got orange BBQ chicken which had the tangy taste of BBQ sauce and the zest of orange. Then you have the fries, they were salted perfectly with freshly cracked salt . A definite must for me next time I'm up here. The service was pretty efficient & overall my visit was perfect except for one small hiccup. I write this experience not for laughs or to knock this establishment . The bathroom had wooden doors that close and lock with what looked like a deadbolt, I wasn't paying attention cause I had to use the facility BADDD!!! any way when I went to leave I realized the door wasn't opening. Came here with a large group for dinner and drinks on a Friday and it was completely dead. There was maybe a couple other groups of two throughout the night, but that was it. They sat us at a long table next to the projector screen, which was okay at first, but oddly so dark for those who sat directly beside it that the rest of us at the other end of the table could barely see them clearly. I ordered a bourbon neat and "The Kitchen Sink" burger without buns, and it came with a poutine that I just gave to my husband. The description said "everything we got", which ust ended up being cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and sauce - not all that different than regular cheeseburgers. The patties are homemade angus, which I appreciate, but there was nothing really special about it. I assumed that because other burgers had things like mushrooms, caramelized onions, and guacamole, that they would also be included in the "everything we got", but definitely not. The poutine was also just the standard, plus green onions on top. Our server was nice, but there wasn't a need to set up empty tables when it was so dead, while our party of 12ish were waiting to be served. I can see how this spot would be popular during Sens games, but nothing unique and just your standard bar for not-so-competitive prices. read more

We were in the Market one night last week, and the guys didn't want to walk around anymore so we went to the Sens house. Its located beside the Keg, well above to be more precise. Since it was a weeknight, we waltzed right in and our group took over one of the super-sized booths. The ambiance was obviously a sportsbar. There are no bad seats since there are so many televisions in the place. There was even a Sens game on the televisions. However we had residents of Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto at the table, so each time the Sens scored our table was the only one not to break into an uproar. The menu had a lot of selection, with the normal sports bar categories. Two guys ordered the Iceberg salads with a side of chicken wings. The iceberg at the Keg is about half of an iceberg lettuce, and this one was about the size of a full lettuce - somewhere in Ottawa a bunny was going hungry to feed people. They also liked their wings. I had a burger, the mushroom burger with a garden salad on the side. The combination of mushrooms, camembert, and onion jam was distinctive. The burger was big, but only lasted 1.2seconds. The salad was ok -- its a salad. I'd repeat this place, however given that there are so many other restaurants I haven't been to in the Market, I would check out another one. read more

I am actually not sure what I was expecting coming here but I was slightly disappointed. I found the place to be a little small for what I consider to be a sports bar but that was not the issue. I think it was extremely overpriced for being mediocre food/drink. The nacho I ordered with chicken was $18. The chips were crispy but there was barely any toppings...not to what I am used to from other pubs/bars. The nachos were also dry. Since there were not many toppings and not much "wet toppings" it was not enjoyable. I had a lot of empty chips. The caesar I ordered was also $9 and it wasn't on part with volume or taste. Overall it was just too much money for what I got. The service was decent and the giant screen to watch games was good. I love the beer and the location of this place. That's about it after today. :( We ordered chicken nachos. It was basically a bag of tortilla chips and not much else for $18! The husband and kids ordered a poutine each which was TINY. My kids were still hungry when they left. That's sad. Way overpriced for the quality of the food. Menu was limited. Actually 3.5 stars. Wandering downtown Ottawa on a Saturday night, we were looking for a restaurant to eat at. The later the night gets, the more some of these restaurants turn more into a bar/club and start charging cover. Tried a few places that insisted on cover and then finally stumbled upon this place - it's on the second floor of the building. It was so clean on Saturday night around 11pm - which was a surprise based on the previous reviews. We got a table right by the big glass windows and the view was nice (outlook the street, but it was lively). I liked the environment - they had tons of TV's and it wasn't too crowded either. In terms of food, I got the chicken parm grilled cheese with vegetables on the side. It was a bit pricey at $16.99, so I was expecting some really great food... which wasn't the case. It wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't worth the higher price tag. They don't spread the sauce inside the sandwich - it's a dip. Everytime you take a dip, the toppings form the sandwich fall out... The vegetables were okay. Too oily in my opinion. The reason I gave this place a 3.5 stars was due to the atmosphere. Definitely do not come here solely for the food. BUT, if you are in the area and want a clean sports bar with lots of TV's, this would be a good option. read more

Came here for drinks on my boyfriends birthday, we were given amazing service! Our waitress Allison was outstanding. She was very outgoing and knew about everything on the menu. She advertised the $5 egg roll special that evening which was apparently delicious (BF and I were not eating since we just came from dinner, but friends who ordered the egg rolls said they were great). We split several pitchers of the strongbow cider, which are $23. These pitchers are VERY large and we absolutely love strongbow, so it was a good deal! I think each pitcher gave a little over 4 pints... break that down to 5.75 per pint , it is a great deal! They have several other beers on tap for cheaper (under $20 :o ) but we love our cider too much to pass it up :) read more

Most awful place I have ever gone to. Don't waste your money or your time. Waitresses and staff were extremely rude. My burger came out with things on it I did not ask for and instead of cooking a new burger they tried to bring me back the same burger with the sauce and other things just wiped off like I wouldn't notice and even said to me it was a new one. This might be the biggest "two faced" place I have ever been to. On the one hand the rooftop location is fantastic. They open the roof on nice nights and it might be. Best place on the planet to watch a game. But just done ear there. Food is just not Good. My wife said it was worse than airline food. Service was not much better. Took my parents who came from Toronto to visit as I thought it would be a good way to spend the night especially since the raptors game was on , This place was DEAD with only two other people other than the 6 of us ,so right there should have been our sign but we sat down anyways I had ordered glorified big Mac meal for $16 , like seriously right down to the sauce (they all it Sens sauce ) and the seed buns !! Love the atmosphere better for a "sports bar" in comparison to Real Sports. The rooftop is a great unique feature for extended patio in the market. The beer was cold and the projection screen hi def. I had the Apple burger and it was great for a "sports bar". The service was excellent, and I look forward to watching my Sunday football here. I am also excited to watch sens games here. Real Sports is the same owners group as the Toronto Maple Leafs, and it is slightly more expensive on drinks. That being said, if you're in the market looking for a "sports bar" and u don't like the Leafs, Sens House has you covered. Nick was fantastic at ensuring our visit was top notch. read more

Unpleasant experience. Waited far too long for our order to be taken and when it was taken, all four of our orders (group of four people) were messed up. When we told the waitress about the mess ups, she was rude and not apologetic at all. The cook should have come to us with an apology but instead, he barely fixed our orders. I do not recommend. Someone greated us at the door and although there were other tables, she placed us right beside the dj booth. So all through our meal, we were getting bumped and pushed by every one going by. Someone even moved a chair for another table and they came right above my head! It took us 10 minutes before a server came to see us. Then she took our order and although the appitizer came quickly, it looked liked something that fell out of a UFO! We ordered the 4 cheese dip. It had a thin layer of pure liquid on top. It did taste ok. We ordered hamburgers and mine was messy and not that tasty and the fries were cold and dry. In the middle of the meal, the waitress came to see if we were ok and my partner said yes and before I could ask for another drink, or tell her my food was awfull, she was gone! She asked if we were finished eating, (half my hamburger was still on the plate) we said yes and she didnt bother asking if everything was ok, she took our plates. For a sports bar with a focus on the Ottawa Senators, this is the best option. Exceptional rooftop patio with a skydome style roof. Servers outfits are a bit tacky for the surroundings. Our server was constantly pulling her dress down to avoid over exposing herself. The service was great, atmosphere amazing and prices are cheaper than real sports.
