One thing that I wish they would consider...the ambient temp in the exercise area is way too high. I have to bring my own portable fan to use on the treadmill. I'm wondering whether the temperature is according to ACSM guidelines....

And was given the ok to start working out again. Despite my injuries. My personal trainer Alyssa is fantastic. Knowledgeable and so helpful. Great personality. A goal of a workout is for one to be challenged. I can count on her to do just that. She is helping me regain my strength and confidence. Cannot thank her enough!

And I had nothing to do with , matter of fact I was in a different part of the gym minding my business. Man that took his spot was super rude ,instead of saying that he is still using equipment he acted entitled and sat on top of it before letting my bf know he was still using it. He was working out on 2 diff.machines far from each other Obviously someone will take your spot if you're not there and all you got to do is ask. Since it turned out into verbal argument his brother was there too and my bf came up to his brother to apologize and explain the situation of why he was mad. To which his brother cut him off and said " I don't give a fucking fuck , you know what, Fuck you! " Owner Curt calls my bf a day later and tells my bf it's all good as long as there is no further arguments he is ok , and to stay away from each other he just wanted to reach out and hear his part of the story . I purchased the Black Card membership since I live in Montgomery and all my friends live closer to downtown. The Black Card allows me to visit any location and bring a guest for free. This way I can meet a friend at any location and have a workout buddy. Mason is my home location and it's very nice so far. Everyone who works at the desk is very nice and they always welcome you when you walk in. They do the same thing on your way out. On my first day, I signed up for an short orientation, since I've never belonged to a gym and had no idea what to expect. I was shown around by Angelo, who was very friendly and showed me everything the gym had to offer. He also told me that you can sign up for a class on the app called "Design Your Own Program" where you meet with him to set a goal and he helps you achieve it. I came back the next day and met with Angelo. I told him I want to run the Flying Pig 5K in May, and he helped me cater a workout for the first two weeks. He told me he would reach out and meet with me again to change up the workout. He showed me how to use each machine and the proper settings to put them on to achieve my goal. Angelo is so nice and nonjudgmental. He's great! So far I'm really digging Planet Fitness. Let's see how long I can keep this gym trend up before I quit....

I sent multiple emails to Mason and corporate. Corporate responded I had to contact Mason-still no response-now there is a new manager who gave me email of his boss-who is not part of franchise-his boss Josh has not called me. I went to cancel just so monthly fees would stop and was told I would be charged for this month because I was 3 days too late. Because a debit card is the only acceptable payment for Planet Fitness I have no way to get my money refunded This is criminal and I never thought I could be scammed like this

The chlorine level is tolerable while playing water polo. I'm only giving it 4 stars because given the fact i play water polo, I have to play in all deep water, and it is shallow on one end which is tough, and playing width all deep makes the pool too short. If you want to attend the class you need to sit by your phone or the app, at a certain time, and vie with others to get one of the spots. If you don't get one of the spots, they will put you on a waiting list. But, if people are not going to show up for the class, they probably won't call the desk to cancel. I suggested that they add another class/instructor but they seem to be saying that that was also not possible. I probably won't be staying around long since this is the way they run things. No ill toward anybody, it's just not a good way to do business.

I canceled my membership in person at the Crunch Fitness Kenwood location in August 2025, exactly…read moreas required by their cancellation policy, due to an upcoming surgery and extended recovery. Despite following their process correctly, I was still charged monthly from September 2025 through April 2026. When I contacted them, management confirmed in writing that my membership had, in fact, been canceled back in August. So they were clearly aware my account was closed, yet instead of contacting me about any supposed issue, they continued billing me month after month. I was then told the charges were for personal training, which I reasonably believed had been canceled along with my membership. Again, I canceled IN PERSON with their staff. There's no reasonable explanation for canceling a membership while leaving other services active without clearly disclosing that at the time of cancellation. Even after all of this was acknowledged, the personal training manager refused to refund the $930 that was charged after my cancellation. This is completely unacceptable. I followed their cancellation policy, and they continued taking money from my account anyway. It feels like a tactic to keep charging customers under the guise of a separate personal training contract, rather than clearly canceling everything at the time of membership termination. Based on my experience, I would not recommend joining Crunch Fitness.

Playing lots of tennis growing up, I played in a lot of tournaments. One of my favorite clubs to go…read moreto--and not just because of its close location--was Queen City Racquet Club. It's really big, it's very nice, and they just run a great club. The club, which opened in 1971, is now known as the Queen City Racquet & Fitness Club as it added a large fitness center, which includes Nautilus machines, free weights, a cardio room, aerobics, and spinning. Queen City's 13 indoor courts is probably second to none in the area, while it's seven outdoor clay courts is great too. Both the indoor and outdoor courts are often home to many tournaments including national and top regional junior events. In 2003 they added Platform Tennis courts (see photos), which is for the Platform Tennis game that is apparently a mix between tennis and racquetball. Although I've never played, I know people who have, and they enjoyed it. Platform tennis is one of the amenities that sets this club apart from most in the area. Queen City has long had a strong tennis program for both juniors and adults. While many of the top juniors in the area now play at Harper's Point or Five Seasons, Queen City has a history of developing top players and continues to run quality programs (clinics, camps, league play, private instruction) for both juniors and adults. I've played in and watched my older brother in many tournaments at Queen City, and the only real criticism I have is the tinted windows that make it seem dark outside (which of course is an extremely minute detail). The 180,000 square foot club also has indoor courts for racquetball and squash, a gym for basketball and volleyball, and an outdoor heated Olympic size pool. Also inside around the main lobby is a great snack bar/café, rooms for ping pong and pool, and nice locker rooms too. Although there has been lots of competition from Harper's over the years, and recently Five Seasons too, the Queen City Racquet Club continues to run successfully and is a great place for tennis and a lot more.
