    Inside the market at Brixton

A Brazilian pancake house, whatever next! The place is inside Brixton market and worth a venture out to it. Staff very friendly and polite. The inside rather cramped but comfortable... I'm guessing authentic! The menu gives a great choice of savoury and sweet dishes, healthy, vegetarian and even vegan options too. I am sure you will enjoy the experience especially all the beers and drinks are organic... Nice touch!

This place was cute... Really, really cute. After roaming around Brixton Market with a friend and getting tired of the London rain, we decided to take our dessert before getting dinner. We ordered the maple, caramelized banana, walnut and hazelnut crepe. It was absolutely delicious and the kind of overly sweet crepe that leaves you in an after meal slump. I'll definitely be making my way over again but this time for a savory crepe considering the plethora of options they had! Too delicious not to.

Located in the indoor Brixton Market food/shopping area, Senzala's officially called the "Brick Box," so don't be confused if you're trying to hunt it down! We stopped in around 1:30 pm on a Sunday, and it was busy but had a few tables free, both out front and inside. Since we were all hungover, the relative darkness of the inside tables seemed better. The menu offers sweet and savory crepes, espresso drinks, and beer and cider. It's a bit cramped inside, so get ready to make friends with the neighboring tables. Because it was so full, it was a bit noisy, but the volume also gave the place a fun, bustling energy. Service was quick and efficient, though it can be hard to get your server to bring over the check when you're finished (you have to ask or they'll just leave you there). Crepes ranged from £5-7 and are large and generously filled; one each is good for a light meal, plus maybe a sweet crepe to share for dessert. Brixton Market is a fun, off-the-beaten-path place for strolling, eating, drinking, and shopping, and Senzala is perfect for a quick snack or a simple meal while you're there.

I met with a friend on the weekend for our monthly brunch, and we decided to try out Brixton again, as there were so many delicious places we walked past last time. Usually I have a place in mind ahead of time, as I have a gluten issue, but this time we just decided to wing it, and I'm glad we did. We walked past this place and the waitress advised the buckwheat version of the crepes were gluten free. SOLD! There were only table outside, and it was a little cool, but once they turned the heater on above our heads it wasn't too bad. Now lets talk menu. Boy oh boy where to even start. There are at least 10-15 different types of sweet and then the same in savory versions. It was so much pressure to find one that I wanted more than the rest. I think in the 5-10 mins I spent looking at the menu, I changed my mind at least 50 times. I decided on the buckwheat crepe with banana, honey and dark Belgian chocolate on the side. My Friend ordered a savory one, with a delicious looking egg on the top. The serving sizes are pretty decent, and I am doubtful anyone would leave Senzala feeling hungry still. The Belgian chocolate was super rich, and I'm not sure I needed that huge amount of sugar, but man was it delicious. I did have savory crepe envy when I was hitting my sugar overload. But all in all for a crepe and a coffee for under £10 you can't really go wrong. I'd recommend getting here early though, cos there was quite a queue after we were seated. I'll definitely be back!

Oh this place is so good!! I had the special local Brixton crepe, which had Jamaican jerk chicken and lots of yummy peppers! I didn't find it too spicy, it was just right! The senzala lemonade was fantastic and refreshing!

I love Brixton Market and rarely felt disappointed by the food but this time I wasn't really happy. Senzala is a cool place with a good concept, very friendly staff and a nice offer even for vegans...but...my friend and I ordered two different buckwheat galettes with vegan fillings that all sounded super yummy but sadly disappointed us both. It just wasn't falvourful so we poured lots of chilli sauce on our plates. They don't allow BYO but the house red was tasty and at 16 quid not too expensive. Afterwards we shared a Sweet Sin, a crepe with chocolate, banana, and vanilla ice cream, which was ok but also didn't rock my boat. Maybe they're good at the traditional ham and cheese galette but you have to see for yourself.

I really can't fault this place. Always accommodating, always delicious. I tend to create my own and they're always amazing! The Galette is a must when having savoury dishes. If you're in Brixton Village this is definitely one to try! Also they accept card payments - hooray!

Sezala Creperie - I went to this place in Brixton village market, it was very good and was excellent quality. The whole experience was lovely with small shop units and lots of street food to choose from. It is somewhere I will be returning.

He had looked up restaurants that served a full English breakfast, and Kennington Lane Cafe was highly regarded, and it happened to be a few minutes away from our B&B. We loved our breakfast so much that we went back a second day. What I liked about the menu was that is was easy to create exactly what you wanted. You could order a set breakfast (and easily add on extra sides), or you could pick and choose what you wanted, and make the breakfast as small or as large as needed to match your appetite. The breakfast I created had a small steak, fried mushrooms and tomatoes, and bubble and squeak. Delicious! I don't have an itemized bill of exactly what we ordered and the price of each item, but the totals on my credit card bill are £20.89 the first day and £20.50 the second day, and each bill included breakfast and coffee for two. Essentially, you can get a full breakfast for £10 -- a fantastic deal. [Yelp collections: Europe 2024; London, England; Poor and hungry?]

My friend and I stumbled across this cafe en route to an event and dropped in on our way home to try it. We both had a cup of herbal tea and I had a slice of cake. Staff were really friendly and it was a nice spot to spend an hour or so. The cafe also has various items for sale including plants, crockery, candles and kids items, however I found they were priced pretty high. This is why I dropped a star on my review as I found it was on the pricier side. Tea was £2 and a slice of cake/cupcake/pastry was £3. I did enjoy my tea and cake and the cake was homemade but it was a bit of a small portion to justify the £3 price. However I appreciate the vicinity of the cafe probably warrants the price and it is in quite a touristy area with the London Eye a 5 min walk away. The cafe has been there 4 months and it makes a change to visit a local business vs a chain cafe, hopefully it is here to stick around. So give it a go! Hopefully they will become a bit more generous with the portion sizes!!
