Strawberries, blueberries, maple syrup, and cream butterscotch pancakes
    Stephen L.

Good brunch spot with some nice character offering many different kinds of pancakes (savory and sweet). I ordered the butterscotch pancakes with strawberries, blueberries, maple syrup, and cream (14.95 GBP). Because they were made with butterscotch, they were definitely sweeter than normal pancakes, but not to an unpleasant level. The portion size seemed a bit small, but the pancakes were surprisingly filling, with the toppings. The fruit seemed pretty fresh. If you like sweet pancakes, this could be a good option, but they have plenty of savory options as well for you savory folks. The price seemed fair. I also got a tropical smoothie (with banana, mango, and pineapple) (5.25 GBP). It was a bit of a small size, but was tasty and seemed to have been made with fresh fruit. The restaurant has some cute decor throughout, with bunches of colorful flowers throughout, including on the ceiling and on each table. As the name suggests, it has sort of an old-timey vibe. There are also some fun signs on the wall, such as one that said "Keep calm and eat pancakes". My one critique on the environment though is that the lighting is not great, as it is kind of too dim, even during the daytime - they should definitely make it brighter so that it feels more vibrant and lively to keep with the theme of the decor. The service speed was very fast and the staff are friendly. The location is convenient, as it is located on High Holborn (the main street in the Holborn area). Overall, if you are a fan of pancakes, then My Old Dutch has plenty of good options for you in a cute environment.

    Absolutely delicious!

Coming from the US, I honestly didn't know what to expect. The pancakes are ridiculously huge! I tried a savory pancake (the old Dutch) and it was delicious. The pancake itself is very thin, almost like crepes with various toppings either inside or on top of the pancake. The pancake texture is also more like a crepe. Funky interior with fake flowers, somehow it works with the overall vibe. I managed to eat that whole pancake myself so that is a testament to how good the pancake was. I highly recommend this place and also can't wait to come back with my friends and family.

It was my last day in London so decided to try it. Wow the pancakes are out of this world omggggggggg. I got the Nutella one and it was just beyond. It's a must visit so if you are in London you should for sure go here.

So delicious I wish they sold this in the states!

On our way to the British Museum, Bryan and I come across My Old Dutch, we were drawn in by the Kinder signs and stayed because of the menu! We needed some delicious food to start our day, we ended up sharing The Kinder Chocolate Factory, which is butterscotch pancakes topped with Kinder everything as well as two scoops of chocolate ice cream. I felt like a kid in a candy store, we also added a side of scrambled eggs and bacon to make it a complete breakfast. The portion size is insane, this definitely fed both of us and we were glad that we would be walking around the museum to burn off those extra calories. The pancakes were cooked perfectly and sweetened just enough, with the kinder pieces you don't need syrup. There are other options other than the sweet pancakes, they also do savory pancakes as well and when I saw someones order my jaw dropped. I don't think there's a bad thing on this menu, price point it was so affordable. Service was great, the manager came by to check on us a couple of times and our server was really sweet. Definitely stop by My Old Dutch to satiate your sweet tooth!

Maple Syrup & Butter - SCRUMPTIOUS, loved it

I stumbled upon this place with my family and I'm so very glad that I did. It was a very VERY happy accident. It is a bright and lovely bouquet of a restaurant that lifts you sky high when you walk in. My god is it a trip all the way back to the Elizabethan era: but make it modern with rap music. This place and FLY and the food is DELICIOUS. We got all the classics, the old Dutch 15" cakes. Maple and butter. YESx1000. Berry compote: YES YES AND YES. And wow my bf LOVED THE OLD DUTCH. He couldn't stop saying yes. You need to try this place if you have a half a brain for food and you care about your life. Please, go now! Also - GREAT service. We were in and out in 30 because we were in a rush. Staff was totally cool and let us get through quickly.

Stumbled across this when walking the area after leaving the bookstore. Daughter saw "Pancakes" and that was the end of it. The service is slower here than we are used to but the staff was all very friendly and helpful when we asked for anything. Food was great, very much as expected from someone who has made multiple visits to Amsterdam & Brussels.

Was walking through London when I saw this pancake shop. The smell was amazing when I walked in. Food was amazing and hot. In addition to that, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

    English breakfast pancake

Was ok...our pancakes were good but not life changing. Lots of fun flavors to try, but I think I would have preferred to just eat an English breakfast instead of having it in this pancake form. The sweet pancakes might be a better option. Very cute interior!

This place was DELICIOUS!! I didn't expect my savory dish to come out as tasty as it did! It wasn't spicy in my opinion (however my spice strength is very high), but the flavor in the chicken and the chilies with the onions and cheese all came so well together with the base. I seriously recommend this! We also got a sweet pancake and that was delicious too! The pancakes were cooked perfectly and Nutella on everything is always good! Best part aside from the food was the staff. They were all so friendly and welcoming, always a smile on each of their faces. It's so nice to see people who actually enjoy their job!

Butterscotch pancakes with fried eggs and bacon.

So when I most recently stayed in London, my mother and I walked by this restaurant twice a day for a week straight: once when we left our hotel to go to the Tube, once when we came back to the hotel. FINALLY, we made sure to walk by in time to actually enjoy a meal here. And oh my sweet goodness, what a meal it was. While the enormous menu offered an incredible variety of pancakes - from the standard kinds to more unique, savory kinds that I doubt you'd find elsewhere (Morracan lamb pancake, anyone?) - my mother and I were both in the mood for a sweet breakfast. And that's exactly what we got. I ended up devouring an entire plate of butterscotch pancakes with fresh, sweet bacon that went PERFECTLY with a side of fried eggs. My mother on the other hand ordered the sweet peach pancake - which was thin but crisp around the edges - and that came with cream which I actually loved on my own pancakes as much as I did on hers. I can say after seeing the size of our meals that this is definitely not the place to go for a small meal; in fact a party of people who came in after us ended up apologizing because they were staring at the enormous food-filled plates that were brought to us. Unfortunately I also remember that the service was not exceptionally quick; in fact my mother and I ended up wondering if the staff totally forgot about us a couple times, as we were seated in a different area of the restaurant than most of its other patrons that day. Overall though we left super satisfied, with full stomachs and very happy sweet-tooths. I would definitely go out of my way to return here for a meal during future treks to London.

Location, very easy to find. A short walk from the famous Tottenham Court Road and Holborn underground station. The restaurant/ Pancake bar/ Dessert Parlour is a nice spot. Very colourful in decor and personalities. On two of the three visits to this place I've received impeccable service. Friendly, hospital and responsive! The pancakes, both sweet and savoury are as colourful, tasty and if you want a sweet 'damn' you're in for a treat! I believe I spoke to the manager to kindly share the most recent experience with the young waiter who just seemed like he didn't want to work(if you're reading this, don't worry we all have bad days). The service from him was extremely poor but this was a rare occasion and the management apologised profusely so I will give this place another visit.

    Traditional poffertjes
    Megan S.

I've been here several times recently, because the pancakes are tasty and good value. If you go on a Monday, the majority of the pancakes are £5. Be warned, one pancake is *definitely* enough! I've seen too many people think they want a savoury one, then a sweet one. Guys. You can't handle it. If anything, the pancakes can be a bit too much (the four cheese became a grim marathon), but I appreciate going somewhere in central London and getting two meals for a tenner! On Mondays I don't think you can book but I went with a group of 9 and they got us a table quickly as the downstairs is massive. When it isn't a Monday, prices are reasonable considering the size of the meal (about £7 to £11). The poffertjes are also definitely worth a shout if you aren't battered out! There are a few reasons it doesn't get a higher rating. Firstly, as a cheap eatery, it does feel a little bit rough around the edges (nothing like the beautiful pannekoeken huis I went to when I lived in The Netherlands). Service can be slow and gets things wrong. One time I asked for a pancake without spinach - when it came with the spinach, I sent it back, then when it came back, it was obviously the same pancake with the spinach taken off as the pancake itself had spinach integrated in the batter. I didn't bother returning it a second time but it was frustrating that it was wrong twice. The less said about the toilets, the faster the memories will be exorcised.

Walking up and down Primrose Hill had me feeling exceptionally hungry, so I walked the few blocks…read moreover to Camden Town. I wanted something that was grab-and-go, and on the sweet side to wash out the flavor of mediocre pulled pork and cheap macrobrewed beer, so a creperie seemed to be the obvious choice. This stand is in the Inverness Street market, extremely conveniently located right off the Camden Town underground station. The menu is actually fairly extensive for a stand like like this. 20-25 different crepes in all, half sweet and half savory gluten-free galettes(though I believe you can also have these on a flour-based crepe as well). The menu also has beverages, like coffee, fresh juice, and more. The staff are extremely friendly and will happily help you find the perfect crepe to suit your mood. The preparation can also be quite dramatic and fun to watch, which seemed to be a big hit with kids. I wound up with the Africanism, which consisted of your choice of chocolate(white, milk, or dark) combined with coconut and rhum. The crisp edges were perfectly matched with the rich white chocolate. The crunch of the coconut and the slight hint of rhum really added a lot of depth to the flavor of the crepe. I walked away with it piping hot and satiating my sweet tooth and desire for a quick treat. This stand is simple, convenient street food, with 90% of the menu coming in at under 4£, it's a great stop for something easy to eat as you begin your walk through the extensive Camden markets.

Huge huge improvement from the place which occupied this shop space before. :) I tried their lunch time take away box and here is my opinion: + very good value for money if I our vegetarian (£5 box) + salads very good quality and tasted amazing and fresh - if you want to add "protein" on top of your salad it's an extra £3 which makes the total £8 which is expensive for area, you can find similar for £5-6 - I tried the salmon topping which tasted nice but they left the NOT crispy skin on it ... Big NO NO for me Finally ... COFFEE ... I subjected them to flat white test ... They were very enthusiastic they can do it, but the fallen short ... 5,5 / 10 ... They made me a strong latte basically and milk was over heated ... They remained above 5 because they at least didn't over extract the coffee :) As indicated this was their second day and I think they can do much much better and I think they want to based on the enthusiasm I saw. :) I'm looking forward seeing the progress :)
