Just like any store there is a long aisle with snacks on both sides, packages calling out for attention with bright lettering and Anime drawings. Of course there is frozen meat and fresh greens and a large selection of common items like soy sauce. I was looking for a large bottle of Rice Vinegar but had to settle for a less-in-value smaller size. The store is on a frontage road and not real visible from Fairview so think of the building next to Starbucks which is very visible.

I dropped by to check it out just before heading to a Minnesota Wild game on a Wednesday evening. I had no problem finding this mall and backing into a spot on my final full day in the Twin Cities. The entrance is straight ahead when you first walk into the store. You hang a left and you're in. I welcome this supermarket. There weren't many Asian supermarkets when I lived in Minnesota. It's about time! I didn't walk the whole store. I was impressed by the selection of beverages. I wish that I had visited this supermarket at the start of my vacation. I would have bought and consumed as many cool drinks that this store had to offer. My throat was a bit scratchy. I got a couple of cans of chrysanthemum tea. The brand that I got was decent. I liked looking at all varieties of instant noodles. I was in heaven! The produce section was also cool. Everything looked fresh and healthy. I got to see sugar cane that pandas would be envious of. Lychee. Kumquat. Lots of fruit that made me so happy. I hit the checkout. There were a bunch of open lanes. I got a nice man who helped me check out. I paid with a credit card. I paid, thanked him, and left to check out the mall. The tea was so good. It helped soothe my throat. It was nice drinking a can as I headed to Xcel Energy Center for the Wild game. I look forward to returning and spending more time checking out this supermarket. It's a winner. It's long overdue to have such a great Asian supermarket in the Twin Cities. (13)

I don't have to drive out of my way to United noodle. There's quite a lot of options for restaurants as well, so you make a trip of an outing to this mall. We have yet to try the restaurants upstairs. So far we have had the pho and mochi doughnuts. There is also a fish section. One time I bought salmon from here which was good and another time not so good so I guess it's hit or miss with the seafood.

Bill's Imported Foods is a wonderful shop located on a difficult block on Lake Street in Uptown…read more What was once a happening and vibrant street is now rotting away due to neglect and poor planning. It's saddens me to venture into Uptown although it still echoes with past glory, but those sounds are being muffled by urban blight. Bill's doors are now metal, but venture inside and you're transported to Greece. Their products are fantastic, and we loaded up on olive oil, olives, and fresh feta cheese. The staff was fun and resonated with the joy of Greece. Bill's has survived for decades on Lake Street. I hope they continue to thrive despite the trouble around them. I do wish the city could step in and help jump start a renaissance of Uptown.

The owner appears to try to clean, but he runs a pretty sizeable store (in terms of square footage) by himself. They have a great selection of snacks, seasonings, a variety of noodles and rice, dishes, rice cookers, and kitchen gadgets, and frozen foods. To my amazement, Micronesian families were in here to buy frozen betel nuts, which this store stocks.

If I need any Asian grocery items, I usually just have my mom get them for me from a list that I would send her. I am very sensitive to smell and vomit very easily so I try to go in and out of Asian grocery stores as quickly as possible and especially on an empty stomach just in case I do vomit. The raw meat section smell is terrifying at every Asian market I wish it was sectioned far away from the entrance of deli foods. But it's not & they cut the raw meats in the open air (not enclosed or closed door separate room) & the smell lingers into the entire store at every Asian market & just makes me very ill. Luckily, the deli register line is only for the deli so I can just order deli foods and check out in the same line and then I'm out the door.

It's also right next to their house chips and salsa, which are popular items. Maybe they should move them to a place that's not so crowded and busy. Overall the deli ordering area is a massive layout issue. The self-checkouts are also almost never on. It's really annoying. They are right there, but almost never usable. If they aren't going to let me use them, they should just remove them. If would actually be the perfect area to give more space when ordering at the deli. Would solve the layout issue. Overall: go here and get their house chips, tres leches cake towards the back, and some deli items/meals. But be prepared for an awkward layout at the deli, if it's even a little busy.

They also carry Jolibee at this location that they pick up from Chicago like they do at the Burnsville location. Nice option to have when you don't want to do the St Paul trek.
