I didn't have much expections as one other time 1.5 years ago I made a Sephora makeup appt in my hometown, i was so disappointed. She took her time, used great products I actually use (i did not tell her what products I prefer, i just let her do her thing lol) and I was blown out of the water once my makeup was complete. We were helped by a sweet young lady, her name was Alia, she was patient, knowledgeable and knew what products to recommend according to our needs. I was trying a shadow pallet and one of the reps, the guy with pink hair, panicked and told me not to take it, thinking I was gonna take it and leave the store. It's unfortunate that this happens at Sephora where you are assumed to be a thief if you are are non white. Nobody deserves to be treated like that. I am always dressed like I'm on the runway and still I was looked at as a thief for my skin color. Never coming here again. It completely ruined my day and hurt my feelings. I went here to buy some lipstick - usually I get approached by an employee to see if I need assistance. No one approached myself or my friend so we were left to our own devices to see what we could find. I did manage to find some lipstick and gloss, though I don't know if I'm happy with the gloss. I always like to go into Sephora and look around since I love to see what new trends there are in makeup! Customer service has come down.. maybe because of pandemic, not really sure. I used to come here and all the employees were so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.. now I ask a question and they disappear, give an attitude or worse.. I was asking about the product to one of the employees, and what she did.. she put her finger in the jar, scooped out the cream and put on my hand! She was simply too lazy to go and get a q-tip. Every time I go to this store the service is getting worse. It's a thousand people working on the floor and every time you ask a question they call someone else to help. The worst shopping experience I've ever had, ever. Vinny and Clarissa are clearly better equipped to be working at a gas station at a truck stop. The most repulsive experience I've ever had buying things I don't even need, 8 days after my birthday... Sephora LOVES you when you come in to buy $400 worth of products, but won't even treat you like a human being when you come to return something. I hope Sephora recognises the lowly character of Vinny and Clarissa, and that they are let go or demoted because they are a HUGE liability to this company. I'm really not surprised to see all the recent reviews have such low ratings. This Sephora needs a major boost in customer service. It seems like the employees really just pick and choose who they want to help. I had to ask four different employees until finally finding someone who would help me. It's a really large location with a great selection, but I would rather shop at the one in Pembroke Gardens. Since it's a fairly busy mall, especially on the weekend, expect to wait in line after navigate the crowds. read more

Thank you Alex for the horrific experience. Employees act like you are bother them if you are not pale skinned. So many employees and nobody to help. I swear I had on an invisibility cloak. The evening I went all the pale skins got the most attention while people that look like me was left to practically beg for assistance. This is one of the best things I've discovered in a long time! Who knew?! This Sephora is in fact a store in a store, hard to believe and new concept to some, but it's there! Hence the outdoor signage (see picture below). What started out as a small satellite store/kiosk inside of JCPenney with a small smattering of their typical inventory has now become a large, full-on, retail Sephora (yes, Beauty Bar, makeup artists, beauty insider points, Sehpora packaging and all!!). The "Sephora inside JCPenney" is slightly smaller than the anchor store in the center of Aventura Mall (which can be challenging to get to due to Aventura Mall having major parking issues around the center part of the mall). It's really great that this small satellite store is now a full on Sephora with a brand new large parking garage just outside, making it extremely convenient to find parking and then get to. If you've ever been to Aventura Mall, you know that JCPenney is one of the less frequented stores, therefore also making it much easier to get to this Sephora location over the anchor store. Genius! I do have to knock off a star due to the fact that this is not an anchor store and it still does not have the full inventory, but let me tell you there was not one single item that I needed that this store did not carry. Very impressed. They had four to five beauty technicians working at the time making it very easy to get customized and personalized service. Can't find what your looking for? They will call the other location centrally located inside the mall to do an item check for you. This location might not be as pretty as the anchor store but what they did was really try to maximize the smaller space and get as many products in there as possible. This is going to be my "go to" Sehpora in Aventura over the anchor store. Much easier to get in and out of and the service from the Beauty techs was above and beyond what you get at the anchor store. I really did like the intimate boutique feel over the larger anchor store feel to be honest. Really happy that I stumbled upon this gem, secrets out! read more

Aventura location, NOT Jcpenny... So i feel that im good at doing my makeup but when you go to a Sephora or Ulta you always feel a bit intimidated. (I prefer Ulta, less crowds, nicer staff) This time around someone gave me a gc for Sephora. I was looking for a new concealer and foundation. I didnt see anyone on the floor to helped so i went to the register and this young male (didnt get his name- he had short colored hair) was able to help me until he was able to find someone else to return back to the register. Stacy was I believe her name. She assisted me on picking out both to my liking. She felt real genuine while doing her job and I appreciated it very much. Will I go back to Sephora though? If you want to change your look, without high pressure sales people trying to push you into something that you aren't sure of, this is the place to go. You can do your own make-up, take it off and start all over as much as you want, until you find just the look you are after. All of my favorite brands are there. Generally, they are in about the same price range as other shops, but it's more fun to have so many of them in one place where you can try them and compare. Bare Minerals, Urban Decay, Sephora, Chanel, Givenchy, whatever you like, you can probably find it here. There is always a good supply of testers, disinfectants, disposable brushes and makeup removers to make help assure that you aren't working with contaminated products. I came to the store with my friends and we needed help for something expensive and 8 employees were just ignoring us because they will speak with two ladies from the corporate and ask them question ....what kind of product they like to sell Are you kidding me ??? you have a client six customer came to the store and asking where everything is located and you been ignoring us?! That's a Shame!!! It looks like Sephora only cares about what they are employees what they like to sell AND don't care about the customer service Who actually bring money to your store I think you should better train your employees who work in HR and who come from corporate and ask them questions not on a floor not in front customers !!! I love this store. I love being overcharged for my makeup. my month salary buys my deodorant here. their return policy is fantastic too. it's similar to bed bath and beyond in a way. you can return things you purchased a year ago if the product was subpar. it's great. they have pretty bags they put your overpriced purchases in. at least those are free. they have everything here, except mink sweaters from skinned Alaskan sled dogs...sad face. check this place out trust me, it's worth it read more

The new girl in the perfume section around 1130 had the worst costumer service, asked her to get me some perfume I told her I wanted the small size she stated all they have was the big one I said what about in the back. So she finally went to go get it she came back and said oh you can check out in the back or the front and I told her I'm still shopping so I can do it in the front at the register where everyone else is waiting in line to check out. She then says oh I have to put the perfume in the front by the register I'm like why that has never happened and said oh that's the store policy. Absolutely felt racially profiled in this store. I have been at this location twice first time last Fall during the week someone actually advised me on a mascara. NARS climax nice applicator and no raccoon eyes. So I got on their tremendously long line and made my purchase and left. So after the new year I found my self back here needing updates in my makeup selection. Warning DO NOT come here on a Saturday. Every one that works here asks you the same question do you need a basket. By the twelfth time your frustration is such that you get on the tremendously long checkout to leave. Does anyone assist you here? NO. Only asks do you want a basket. Plezzzz why did I leave the house. I don't know WHY I haven't reviewed this place yet! I love this place. Its easy to get lost in, but worth every second. We went today to pick up some makeup for the wedding. There was a FABULOUS guy that helped out Erin with her eyes and foundations. She looked BEAUTIFUL when he was done with her, which is nice, cause sometimes, you get that woman with about 1.2lb of makeup on her face and you walk out looking like a drag queen! We had misplaced the gift card I got Erin, but with the help of a cutie at the counter and my original receipt, he called customer service and got it taken care of! Also, today there was a promo going on for the Smurf line for Smashbox and I just have to mention this to the public. There was this very amazing, full of energy, guy announcing that the "best make up artists in LA!" were there doing make overs, and to top it off, over the thump thump thump, of the house music, this guy was doing the "I love life, I'm in a club on E, Im the most fabulous ever!" twirl, arms out, head up, and just spinning around in the middle of store. My favorite location. The selection is massive and I've never needed an item from Sephora that I wasn't able to find at this location. They definitely keep their store fully stocked at all times. If you park by Sears it's closest for easy in and out parking. Sometimes I don't want to order an item online but also don't want to spend hours at the mall so I do enjoy the "shortcut" parking by Sears. read more

I came to sephora this past weekend in search of a good concealer and a powder . As i walked in I made eye contact with a Sephora sales rep and I explained to her what I needed . As I was explaining , it was like she was in another world and was looking to pass me off onto another makeup artist who kind of helped me but also seemed like she didn't know what she was doing. She would just agree with what I said . Then I figured I would do better searching on my own . I had a question about the new "Huda" concealer and I was waiting as a group of Sephora reps were just having their own convo . As they noticed me after 5 minutes , they found another makeup artist to pass me on to ... HERE WE GO AGAIN. I thought. So I ended up purchasing products that made my skin look super greasy and I'm so annoyed . I feel like the customer service was SUB PAR and disorganized. I'm very disappointed with my experience and as a result I am hesitant to shop there any more because every one apparently is to busy to help one person. And I conclude my review with this : I know a thing or two about customer service because I worked for MAC cosmetics many years ago and I have worked in hospitality industry for many years . Horrible customer service. From the moment I walked in NO ONE said hello or acknowledged me. I needed help finding brushes but no one approached me. The employees seemed too busy talking to each other. I even overheard a meeting they were having about the sales for the last three hours $$$$$ on the sales floor near the brushes - very unprofessional. I was upset they seem to only care about the tourist who visit their store who apparently are loaded with $... I just want to say that I have always had a hard time finding a concealer that can cover my under eyes. I have come to Sephora before and I've never been able to find something that really gives me coverage. I came to this store just by curiousity and a gorgeous young woman named Julia helped me. She recommended me to get a concealer of the brand Kevyn Aucoin. At first you're going to think it's a little pricey but once you put it on it's FULL COVERAGE and totally worth it. When we arrived we were told that all make-up artists had left at 8 p.m., on a saturday night. Ridiculous! My favorite Sephora by far. Staff are super helpful and not in a pushy way. Everyone's very responsive and most importantly KNOWLEDGEABLE, they don't try and push promotions on me or featured products when I attempt to ask a question like other locations. The selection is also better than other stores. Have never had a problem with things being out of stock, and that's refreshing. This Sephora is pretty clean and they keep everything in stock. It's located in Aventura mall which is a plus.
