Worst experience in a Sephora store and I've been ignored at another Sephora before. Not only was the woman helping me pick a foundation really bad at picking a color fit for me, you could tell she just didn't care and watched a bunch of customers ruin that samples of foundation laid out for other customers to try. Then when checking out, I asked the sales associate at cashier a question and product I was debating on buying and she gave the same response in a different form the entire time. I understood her the first time but she kept talking and talking after I made clear I understood. I walked out with tears in my eyes. I don't know much about makeup besides lipliner, eyeshadow, and eyeliner but after my wedding I've decided to try some foundation and concealer etc. I walked into Sephora hoping to get some assistance by the very unoccupied makeup artist. I explained to her my situation and she asked me if I had an appointment. I said no, she asked if I wanted to make one. I said I was planning to purchase some starter items. She walked me over to the closest makeup brand and said "here you go, the items that you're looking for are in here" WOW! OK. I walked around the store and figured it out myself after a couple of hours of what goes where with what kind of brush and techniques (googling and watching YouTube tutorials in the store feeling embarrassed). I ended up notating ALL the products that I liked using so that I can now order them online. I added up how much Sephora missed out on me today and before taxes... $718.59!!! Being stalked in a store is not my idea of a shopping good time. I appreciate the plethora of staff but feel I'm being followed or watched! At practically every turn I made to browse there was another salesperson in my face asking me if I needed anything. It was overkill. Being a makeup junkie as well as an artist one tends to expect a specific level of knowledge and craftsmanship. This is my favorite Sephora store! It's huge and has a lot of selections. I love the fact that you can try everything in the store before purchasing it. The SA's are very nice and ready and willing to help you. You may also ask for free perfume samples-which I love-especially since I like to see how long a perfume stays on me before I buy it. Service here is always a hit or miss . Today is January 1st and it's obvious some workers do not want to be at work . The cashiers don't want to work . There were three ladies and I stood in line till one decided to make eye contact ( I was the only one in line ) then after scanning my items and my VIB Rouge card she tells me that the computer is not reading the numbers and that I have to call a number. That all would have been ok if it wasn't for the other cashier who told her to reboot the computer , of course that was waaaaaayy too much to do or ask from the girl who was taking care of me . Love this store. I have one issue though. They have this new thing they put on your face and it can tell what products would be best for your complexion. The issue I have with this is the employees not cleaning it after every use. I saw it twice where they just reset it and touch that metal part to the face. I had it done to me without seeing the person wipe it. Then she wanted to try it on my friend and did not wipe it. It concerns me because people have bacteria naturally on their skin, but it should be cleaned after every use. That bacteria can be harmful to someone else causing an infection. read more

OK they have REALLY improved since my lackluster experience in 2011! I complained that I felt like I was ignored, but this time rather than being ignored, I got plenty of people willing to help me without being annoyingly overbearing. Based on the reviews left by others, I expected to walk in and be ignored. Everyone I dealt with was very friendly and helpful. I went in to replace a lipgloss and instead had my foundation color corrected and a mini makeover. Jatna did a super job and was very sweet. Definitely recomend her! I often shop at Sephora in Aventura Mall because I work in the mall its a very convenient location. Todays visit really has drawn me to want more out of the company. Today Nancy was the associate that rang up my sale . She made me feel so confident with my purchase . She reassured that it was the best choice for my boyfriend and that he would love it. She even had someone wrap my gift which was very sweet of her. She also gave me knowledge on becoming a Beauty Insider member she explained all the perks clearly and talked about it with so much excitement. She even mentioned the fact that I get a birthday gift on my birthday for being a member ! The service I experienced from her was above and beyond . Went into Sephora to be matched for a foundation and return some things. They were very helpful in returning my products for me, but not without the cashier hitting on my boyfriend and being rude to me. Going so far as asking me, "why would I compliment your shirt?" I'm soo DISAPPOINTED SEPHORA! I literally live by sephore the customer service is always amazing and the products are usually stocked and at the ready when you need them. Today I'm on Vacation and made an appointment at my favorite place to have my makeup done for a Halloween party this evening. I called and spoke with a young lady about coming in at 6 she gave me the details and I was on my way. Well apparently there are no certified Artists available tonight. The only one they have left at 2pm! Like what??? I called after 2, and this girl just told me what I wanted to hear FOR WHAT. Walked to your other location and they are completely booked of course they are, that's y I called and made an appointment. Spoke to a manager and he couldn't do anything but apologize for the lack of consideration and offered to send/make me an appointment at Ulta. No thanks... I'm on vacation I Uber's to this location for this appointment and they played me. So if you want your makeup done or need a holiday look Avoid the Sephora in Jcpenney's these girls aren't Certified. Cynthia, at the Brow Bar, is awesome. She is incredibly personable and she has superb customer service. She also shapes some banging brows! I don't even live near aventura, but I would make the drive - with a toddler - just to visit this location again. This used to be a great Sephora, but customer service has really tanked. I frequently buy large amounts of perfume and occasionally ask for a sample or two. The woman who works in the perfume department is completely unapproachable and rude. She practically dragged her feet when I asked for a sample as if I were asking her to do something completely out of the ordinary and treated me as if I were not a paying customer. I will give this place 2 stars only because I've been there before and never had a problem. In fact, the employees were warm, friendly, and knowledgeable about the products. I don't usually mind the employees coming up to you and asking if you need assistance. Today, on the other hand, I had a horrible experience. I picked up a concealer to try on and moved to the end of the isle to look on the mirror. While doing that, my friend got my attention by showing me something and I walked down a little. When I remembered I had the concealer in my hand, I went and put it back in its place while I laughed. It wasn't until I was outside the store that my friend told me she heard a female employee telling a male employee that I was stealing. According to my friend, and now that I look back at it, a male employee was following us. I felt so humilliated by that. Apparently, you cannot move three feet without being accused of stealing. I have bought makeup by Sephora before and I was always happy with the makeup and the service. Right now, I am so upset I don't see myself returning. I've never stolen anything before and If I was willing to spend $45 on makeup from MAC, I certainly was more than willing to buy makeup from Sephora. -_- read more
