This store greatly lacks the level of customer service I have associated with Sephora. There were only a few customers in the store yet no one greeted me. I spent a good 15 minutes looking at cleansers without anyone asking if I needed help, which I did. I can't help but think, they didn't bother we me because I was wearing no makeup, which is their loss. I was looking for an overhaul of my entire beauty routine, but without help from their "experts" I left with a bottle of just my usual foundation. When I got to the counter and laid down my Rouge card I figured that would get some attention, but the sales associate didn't even look at my face once. She just stared at the screen and sent me on my way. I just hope that Cherry Creek can repair my relationship with Sephora. read more

Okay so, listen up Shisters. I am only a fan of the outlet store in JC Penny's. The main store in the mall is always crowded and employees always look like they'd rather be forced to listen to Manny MUA repeating Jeffree Star on loop for 24 hours than be helping you. I've even had some get upset at me for asking for their help when they were doing absolutely nothing. In the JC Penny's Outlet it is a completely different story. Everyone there is always happy to help a shister out and is very knowledgeable about all of the products. I've never had a bad experience there and am always complimented on something by one or more of the employees. They really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and appreciated for coming into their store. If you're on a budget, they understand and try to help find great products in your price range. They never try to force-sell anything to their customers or pressure you into buying something, and if you ask for some alone time they happily leave you in peace until asked for help. The employees in this store also offer great advice when asked. All in all, if you're looking for a place to get some makeup and have an awesome, educational experience or just some relaxing shopping time the JC Penny outlet Sephora is the place to go. f you're a woman, you'll understand what I'm about to tell you... - I recently drove more than an hour off the mountain, - To enter a mall on a weekend, - All because I needed to shop at a store where a bunch of teenage girls in black lab-type coats can sell me cosmetics. There is NOTHING as intimidating as a teenage girl in a lab coat selling cosmetics. I eventually, got help from a woman old enough to be my mother--who was even more intimidating in the black lab coat--and who showed me exactly what makeup I needed to buy. This is a good thing, as I'm quite certain I would have actually ordered the wrong color foundation had I made my purchase online. Among the education I received this day, I also discovered that I failed one essential female task: I had never, once, ever heard of a "Beauty Blender." Judging by the audible gasp I heard when I admitted I had no clue about the aforementioned Beauty Blender (and here's a hint: it's not a plug-in appliance for the face), I can only assume this is among those female secrets we're all automatically expected to know--or for which we would learn about in Health Class once the boys were sent out of the room. How is it that I , a grown and worldly woman, never once heard about something so vital to my well-being? I suspect a conspiracy is afoot. Now that I'm back home, I can peer into my little black designer bag filled with today's beauty purchases and contemplate how I just spent $20 on a tiny pink egg-shaped sponge that, I swear, looks like the lovechild between the Easter Bunny and a Peep. Why do I have this? Well, that's a good question. While the simpler among you might feel I simply caved into the pressure of the Black Lab Coat Bandidas, the more enlightened among us know that the Beauty Blender is an antimicrobial miracle. I am, therefore, issuing a detente with my face, no longer engaging in germ warfare against it. Not long beforehand, I thought it prudent to use my own clean hands to apply makeup. It would appear I was fortunate not to have given myself leprosy. Apparently, I have no idea where my hands have been, never considering how the same appendages currently typing this message might have a life of their own. I've heard that idle hands are the Devil's playground but it would appear that the hands touching my face are plotting my demise. Yes, I have stared, unflinching, into the Face of Hell--which looks remarkably like my own magnified countenance in direct, unflattering lighting. After all I've been through, you should bask in my newly cosmeticized glory and offer the appropriate commendations (Here's a hint: "You look lovely and remarkably germ-free!") I was on the hunt to try a new foundation and everyone I encountered that worked at this location was helpful, friendly, and beyond patient. I really appreciated the honesty about what products they thought would work for my skin type. And even though it took some time to try to find a foundation that would work for me ,they went over and above to help. And even when the foundation I wanted to purchase was out of stock, they were willing to call several other locations and even have it shipped free of charge to my home. Plain and simple, I will not be returning to this location. I felt very uneasy in the store from the moment I walked in from the moment I walked out. I did not look my best going in the other day because well, I didn't care. Haha. I think this had a huge part of why this experience was so uncomfortable. My sister-in-law and I came by just to browse. My sis-in-law is amazing at makeup and looked great. It was very apparent that they favored her more than me. We were not greeted but just stared down. No one approached me to see if I needed help. I wasn't looking for anything in particular but just testing out all my favorite products and seeing what new palettes they had. I see my sis-in-law ask where a certain product she was looking for was. I look up at the associate and just see her staring me down. I asked her where the Makeup Forever HD foundation was and she rudely points me to where it was. Oh and look at that, now the associates are bombarding me asking me if I need help. Must have looked suspicious? I'm a Store Manager at a retail store and I can understand that you want to keep an eye on customers. I get it. However, I make it known to the customer that we are watching them by giving them EXCEPTIONAL customer service. THAT is the best loss prevention strategy. If I could give this Sephora a 0 for their customer service, I would not hesitate to do so. I was in today and had the most uncomfortable and worst experience of customer service I have had in a while. To start, I did not even have a yelp, I made one just warn people of the unprofessional employees at this location. First off, my reasons to go to this store, as I am usually a MAC kind of gal, was their fragrances. I have never really worn perfume because I often get sensitive skin to most fragrances. However, a friend of mine told me to visit Sephora because they will help you choose up to three fragrances and sample them before making a purchase. Normally, I am kind of shy and don't like to be bothered with my shopping experience nor do I like to bother employees, but today, I was approached by two women who had greeted me with giggles and awkward and very judgemental eye rolls. When they decided to have one help me, they rudely looked me up and down and decided to hold back their LAUGHS, as I was handed off to someone who seemed like they did not want to do their job. This was so hurtful. I was embarrassed and my feelings were crushed by rude employees.It's one thing to be laughed at, but by someone who is supposed to help me? After one girl 'helped me out', the actual woman who worked in the fragrances also 'greeted' me with a rude hello. I began to tell her how I was excited for the samples, and she sternly insisted that fragrances weren't free and proceeded to explain to me with eyes rolling, ( as if i were stupid and trying to cop free samples like it was a crime) that she COULD give me 3 samples.She explained to me that she couldn't do this all the time. I felt so uncomfortable and embarrassed because of how rude she was about it. I felt as if I were doing something that was making her go out of her way. When she took me to the computer to see the scents, she tapped her and crossed her arms, waiting for me to decide to choose a scent. I randomly picked one to get her away from me and when she left, I bolted the store and felt so humiliated and picked on by the employees at the store. I will never visit any sephora again. I will either buy the product elsewhere or stick to MAC. A customer should never leave a store feeling intimated, belittled, picked on, or in tears. I'm very disappointed in this store. No one will ever say hello, I have walked through the entire store on more then one occasion and not a single employee said hello. Usually when I go into Sephora, I usually get the cold shoulder or it seems like they don't want to help but at this location, the ladies were very helpful! They helped me find my perfect shade of foundation and even when it was so busy in the store, the checkout went by really fast! I definitely will return to THIS LOCATION!! "Meh. I've experienced better" is the blurb accompanying Yelp's two star rating, and that is very true of this Sephora. I travel a lot and visit Sephora in most US cities if the city has one. This is the lamest one in the country. There's a nice older lady who has a great memory for customers, but there is a man working here who is just too cool for school, and a woman (perhaps she's a manager, as she was taking inventory last time I was in) whom are actually unpleasant to deal with. Here's my last exchange with the woman, which is completely typical: Me: Hi there! (smiles) Her: Do you need something? (deadpan) Me: Ummm. (Silent pause while she goes back to her inventory) Me: Actually, yeah, may I get a sample of this? (Wait until she looks) Her: (Clatter of her clipboard being tossed on the counter, unless the sound of her turning away was audible) Me: (assume I've just been ... dissed? slapped? ... and mentally shrug and go to checkout with my $262 worth of stuff. Checkout proceeds.) Her: (clatter of sample pot being tossed on to the counter somewhat near me by her from a fair distance away, with a smidge of product in it. Again, unsure if sound of her turning on her hell can be reproduced here.) I didn't see the guy this last time, but when I do see him, I just avoid him. It's unfortunate that the service here is a bit sucky, because skin care is exorbitantly expensive and buying it should at least be an experience in self-gratification, with employees enhancing that and possibly even sucking up to one (okay, at least being nice). Oh well - love the Sephora downtown at Cherry Creek mall, so I think I'll just avoid this Park Meadows mall Sephora, period, in future. read more

Wow!! I've not been in Sephora for probably a few years however I was thrilled I stopped by today! My trip started with Chris who helped me with a couple products. Then I ventured to the back of the store and am so happy that I met Maya! My goodness she knows her products!! I was perusing the Sephora brand and then asked her a few questions which led us to the Fresh brand. I'm in love with her recommendations and she offered advice without a hard sell. She actually seemed to care that I use the right products for my skin and gave me a sample in the same line to try. She knows her stuff! Last but not least was Kiana at the register. I LOVE this place. Where else can you sample in the store face lotions, hair products, makeup, heck even nail polish!!! I always walk out with a great product. Right now I am obsessed with their bumble and bumble beach spray for my wavy/curly hair. Spray and go! Love it! Everyone is always super helpful as well. This Sephora is quite large. I try to stay out of there, but they keep reeling me back in with their impeccably clean displays and promises of beautiful lip glosses and eye shadows. The staff is always friendly and they readily recognize that I'm the kind of girl who likes to be left alone in her makeup heaven. All of the brands you want (that may not be in your local department store) are carried here. OCC, anyone? YES, please! I always peruse the clearance section because I've found some real gems in there (glossy lip pencils that just don't quit & amazing OPI polishes). I live near a different mall, but consistently go to this Sephora for the better selection/service. read more

Displays are gross and even though there are at least 20 cast members on the floor, no one can be bothered to ask if you need help. When you do get someone to help you, its like they've never seen a cosmetic item in their life. Doesnt Sephora pride themselves on education? If you're standing around, maybe clean your gondolas. I love the products sold at Sephora so I always know what I'm going in to buy. Never fails the people working here always put me off. They talk down to customers acting like they are superior to all of us somehow. They aren't actual makeup artists or dermatologists but hearing them talk you'd think they had gone to actual school and mastered both! If I wasn't instant gratification I would buy everything online having a rouge membership I get free second day shipping. I regret going into the physical store every time I walk out of the place. Skip it if you know what you need and don't mind waiting for delivery. The rewards are better online anyway. read more

I first started going to Sephora a couple months ago. Every time I've gone in there, they've been extremely helpful. They've done my make up several times and they even worked with me on finding the right foundation. They even went as far as to give me free samples to try out so I wouldn't spend money on something I hadn't tried out yet. The only "negative" is that a lot of their prices are a little expensive. That's to be expected, though, since you're not just going into a drug store and they have lots of people in there to help you find anything you need. read more

Really surprised that I am writing a one star for this place because I have visited this location many times over the years and I have never had any major issues here. I have spent a lot of money at this location but I went in just to browse around and kill some time today. I found some things that interested me but I honestly just wanted to test them out and did not plan on making a purchase. I had been in the store enjoying the fact that I could test products out without feeling obligated or pressured to buy anything. However, some skinny blonde guy (manager?) begins to watch my every move after I was in the store for a while and it amazes me that he thought I didn't notice him following me around the store for a good five minutes and giving me suspicious glares. I had picked up one of the hourglass products but it was around $50 so I was still debating whether I should make the purchase. He then says something under his breath to one of the other workers and she begins to glare at me the entire rest of the time I am in the store. As I was looking at the Bareminerals section, this man "manager?" comes up to me and snidely asks, "Do you need help? Do you need to try that on?" Its funny because he watched me test that same product on my face with the sample before I decided to pick it up. At that point I knew this man thought I was trying to steal and I had enough pride to just walk out with my money and spend it at a place with more professional service. What a joke. I was fed up and decided to set the product down on my way out and the "manager" and other co-worker immediately went to retrieve it because they had been watching me the whole time. Worst customer service at a Sephora store I have encountered. As you walk through the door there were 3 sales associates standing around-not one of them acknowledges you or asks of you if you need help. I walk over to a particular section hoping to get a sample of a foundation. I see plenty of SAs socializing with each other, yet no one seems to be bothered with helping me out. I finally had to ask a SA to get me a sample. The "sample" was barely a drop of foundation. Other Sephora stores have been more than generous with their samples, and as far as I'm concerned, I won't be returning to this location ever. read more

I really love Sephora. It is so much fun to go in and try everything out. The sales staff are excellent, the store is always clean, and the lighting is perfect for trying out makeup (take note Nordstrom, bad lighting makes it difficult to match foundation properly). As much as I love the store, I shop online more often because they give three free samples with each purchase (and the shipping is free over $50). They also have special codes for extra free items online (I have scored some pretty cool free stuff this way). read more

This Sephora is always well-staffed, clean, and buzzing. However, I am not one to enjoy being watched like a hawk from the second I walk in to the second I leave. If they are suspicious of me shoplifting, I would prefer to have them ask me to show them my purse rather than to be stalked for 20+ minutes and then interrogated upon exiting the store. I was accused of putting a mascara tube in my pocket, even though I explained to them it was my phone and proved I didn't have it, I still was threatened by employees that they would have me arrested...even though I was innocent? That is my only negative about this store... oh and the amount of people who I have seen use testers directly on their eyes/lips/face/etc. GROSS! What's even worse is seeing those same testers being used on paying clients during makeovers. Germs and diseases can spread so fast by doing that... I don't understand why employees make no effort to prevent this from happening, or replace testers that look like they are five years old and have run over by a semi-truck. Bottom-line: do not use the testers. Ask for a new one or use their disposable wands...save yourself from diseases and prevent the spread of them please and thank you. read more
