I am not the type of person to give bad yelp reviews but I couldn't allow myself to stay quiet about the experience I had today with an employee at this Sephora location. I'll start off by stating that I am a licensed cosmetologist and work in the beauty industry myself, so I understand that some reviews can be damaging towards the employee and his or her career. Having said that, I will keep this employees name confidential, as I am not trying to personally attack her but feel the need to let all of you know about my bad experience. As a makeup lover, I visit my local sephora on a bi-monthly basis and in the 10 years I've been visiting I have yet to encounter an employee that was as disrespectful as the one working today. It all started when I approached the NARS counter to repurchase my concealer that I have been using for months now, the employee was leaning up against the counter with another customer having a conversation about something other than the makeup they were blocking. I said "excuse me, I'm sorry I just need to grab something really quick," expecting them to respectfully move over since they were just using that area to converse with each other, but NO- both of them just stared at me like I had 3 heads. After I realized they weren't going to move over for the 5 seconds it would take to grab my item, I reached my arm through the two of them and grabbed my concealer so I could be on my way. Realizing I had grabbed the wrong shade, I reached my arm through a second time to grab the correct one, apologizing once again for being in the way. The employee says to me "ummm, could you maybe wait like 5 seconds until were finished?" I was absolutely stunned that something so rude could come out of her mouth. Wait for what? You to finish your conversation about your Saturday night? Absolutely not. I'm sorry, I am a paying customer and have been for 10+ years now and refuse to be treated with the amount of disrespect that she did today. It irks me to know that people can hold down a job with an attitude like hers, when there are plenty of people who are unemployed that would love to have her job and hold it at a much higher standard than she does. Hopefully the company will realize she is not someone that should be representing them and send her on her merry way. This is 2015, we should not have to deal with receiving terrible customer service due to the amount of people looking for jobs. That being said, I will now be going to the Sephora inside JcPenny so I can be treated how a paying customer SHOULD BE treated. read more

I had to return a product because it made me break out, and the sales associate was so helpful by showing me a product that did the same thing and gave me a sample to try at home. Very helpful and not snobby salespeople. read more

Extremely helpful staff who will help you find a dupe to your favorite discontinued product. That's a big deal for all of us makeup junkies!!!! Yes, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Clean and organized store. Get your makeup fix here, ladies. read more

YAY free samples!!!! Associates are pretty generous giving out free samples. I wanted to try Josie Maran's Morrocan Oil- the lady gave me two pretty large viles that have lasted over a month so far (and am still on the first vile!). They have a great selection of makeup and if you're part of the club, you'll get a free birthday gift. The only thing that sometimes is a draw back is the amount of associates roaming the floor- you feel like you are constantly being watched. read more

Myself, my sister, and a friend paid a visit to this Sephora recently and were absolutely appalled by a snarky employee's rude conduct. While perusing the face creams, we were stalked by an associate (Hi, Judy!), who repeatedly glared at us and spoke into her little wannabe CIA walkie-talkie as if we were criminals. She never once asked if she could help us, instead she stood by stone-faced, obviously disgusted by our presence, and carrying the unwarranted suspicion that we were stealing. Proceeding to follow us around the store, she made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwanted. As a valued client, who spends around $100 monthly at your establishment, I will be sure to take my business elsewhere, as your store clearly beckons for a customer service intervention...Or better yet, don't put a power-hungry, people-hating wench in charge of loss-prevention. read more

What can I say... I love, love, LOVE Sephora! I can't ever not go in there whenever I'm at the mall... Explains why I'm VIB Rouge lol. Anyways, yes they're super expensive but my face is extremely sensitive so I have to splurge on skincare and makeup. All the Sephora girls that I've interacted with were super nice and helpful! One of my favorites in the skincare area is Val! She's such a sweet woman, and I usually always like her recommendations! read more

Usually when it's empty- GREAT SERVICE!!! On other days when it's crowded- eh. You have some trouble finding someone to help you. Personally, I've never had a bad experience with rude costumer service, but it's hard to get a workers attention on those days. I love this location! read more

She she was very knowledgeable about the products and focused on finding colors that worked for us -she also did up my green eyes with. Recently I walked in for a full face application, unfortunately I did not have appointment but I was told that if someone cancelled someone would be able to take me. Well after waiting about 30 min, Toni ( Antoinette I believe was her real name) was able to take me. When I first sat in the chair she explained what she was going to do step by step and asked what look I was going for. During the process she stopped and asked if I like what she was doing but after seeing her complete just my brows alone and also several customers stopping and complimenting her on her work I was very confident that I was going to love the results. Toni was very friendly and extremely professional. I can tell she is a genuine person and I would definitely recommend anyone to see her at Sephora whether it be for makeup application or just knowledge about products. She definitely made my birthday amazing by transforming my look. I want to thank Toni and also the manager who allowed her to complete my makeup that day I really appreciate you guys. read more

I was in the Sephora in Orland Park yesterday 1/28/17. I had a very difficult return/exchange. The manager of the store could not have been more helpful. Miguel F the store manager was very patient as he looked up my history of purchases and was very kind, even when I was not (sorry about that! lol). I shop frequently at the Orland Sephora and unlike the previous reviews this store is very clean and the employees are always more than willing to help. Taylor at Sephora saved my vacation! I was out of face wash and I COULD NOT find it anywhere!! It turned out Sephora stopped carrying this mens line at the stores and Taylor not only showed me some comparable products but gave me multiple samples to make sure I had face wash for my upcoming trip the following day! I am a VIB rouge member-- I have been for multiple years. It's safe to say I spend an unhealthy amount of my paycheck at Sephora. I don't live in Orland park so I don't normally go to this Sephora. I only go to this Sephora when I'm visiting my parents. All the other sephoras I have been to in other cities have been very helpful and friendly. HOWEVER, all of the times I've been here, which has been many times, they have been very unhelpful and neglectful. Never once have I been asked if I needed help, even though I was clearly trying to match foundation on my own or I was lost trying to find a specific product. The one time I went up to a girl to ask for help, she half heartedly responded that she was busy and she would send someone else to help me. 10 minutes go by and no one came to help me. I ended up not buying that foundation because I don't like not being matched before I invest in a 50 dollar ounce of makeup and I wasn't gonna wait for another 10 minutes while 5 more employees walk past me and ignore me. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but after multiple visits (even on days and odd hours when the store was clearly not busy) of the same treatment, I'm not happy with this Sephora. Their one redeeming quality is that their cashiers have always been friendly, but that may be because I pull out my VIB rouge card. There was also one occasion when an older woman employee helped me pick out a present and she was very nice so maybe it's just the young girls who think I'm not worth their time or effort (I'm a 23 year old girl by the way). This isn't a clothing store where the costumers can just mindlessly shop around; this is a makeup store and the costumers depend on the employees to give us expert and informed advice and help us pick out the best products for our specific skin types. I will be avoiding shopping here from now on. read more

Horrible service. I went in there because I wanted to get matched for a powder foundation. After telling one of the associates he told me he would get someone to help me. After standing around a long while no one came. After I walked away another associate approached me and asked if I needed help. I informed her that I was waiting for someone who never came. Soon after that a lady told me she was going to help me. She had the worst attitude. I explained to her that I had a golden under tone and she said there was no such thing. That there was only red or yellow. I told her that both smashbox, urban decay and even Clinique have told me I have a golden under tone and she said that I was yellow and golden doesn't exist. After attempting to match me with the device she put a yellow under tone foundation that didn't match me at all. I told her it looked yellow and didn't match. She said she was matching me to my body, not my face. I told her it didn't even match my neck. She stood there and and gave me a dirty look and gave a snooty response. I shop a lot at sephora and to be treated this horrible made me want to never shop there again. They need to get a refresher on customer service. I've worked in sales for many years and I've never ever treated a customer like I was treated today. That's the reason I walked out empty handed from that place. read more
