Sephora; I adore ya. I'm not a terribly girly-girl, but I like my makeup, and Sephora excites the same part of my brain as a lot of other good, addictive things. It would be easy to spend a lot of money here in a short amount of time, but conversely, I love spending a lot of time here poking around, testing this, that, and the other, and can be satisfied leaving with just one little treasure. After one or two "Can I help you's," staff usually figure out that I'm a browser and leave me alone, but if I accept their offer, they are so ready to help out, and clearly, these are people whose brains are excited in the same way as mine by makeup and skincare products. The selection is beyond compare, as is the service. I brought in a four-month old pot of cream eye-liner that I thought had gone dry too quickly, wondering how long I should expect it to last and if anything could be done. No questions asked, they immediately swapped it out for a new one. Most recently, I was shopping for a new foundation. I had it down to a Lorac formula when I took a sales associate up on her offer of help. Asking for foundation that I wouldn't feel, she thought immediately of Nars. Long story short: she applied each to half my face (beautifully), I still preferred the Lorac, and she didn't pressure. That's a very good thing. I adore ya. Just a note: that was November 6th. They were playing Christmas music. You've been warned.

Here is the "sample" they gave me

Place at 3.6 out 5 stars is upsetting. Top knotch place way better than chain "super cuts" places and good cutters.

So we walked around the food court area, most of the stalls were closed. I appreciated the variety of eateries available. We spent time browsing the mini grocery area, where they sell various interesting items such as honey comb and Turkish delight. My friend bought dried chamomile flowers in bulk to make tea. It was only a quarter the price of buying chamomile tea bags! In the building were some interesting art sculptures. I really like mixed use spaces like this.

Midtown Global Market has been such a staple in my life. It does such a good job of having food options from so many cultures and parts of the world. The food is reasonably priced and the workers are all so kind and knowledgable. Beyond just food, there is a huge selection of art, groceries, clothing, and more. MGM has always felt like the ideal of what Minneapolis is and can be. I am sad to see a lot of booths closed right now. My heart aches for my neighbors and community. I hope (and know) that MGM can bounce back and continue to be a place of diverse community. Love MGM always.

Walking in, I loved the decor which included neon lights and a big State Fair chalk mural (this is a belated review from the summer. RIP, summer). Duke Albert offers an assortment home goods, bath and beauty items, gift, trinquets, and even some vintage clothing from local artists and beyond. I ended up getting a plant hanger, enamel pin, and colorful skirt. Other tempting items of interest: local hand soap, cool candles with metal skeleton cores, silly cheese kit that they found in France, an antique stucco stamp, vintage games and posters. The owners (I assume) were really cool too, providing lots of info and even insight on where they found some of the unique treasures. I'll for sure stop in here periodically when I want something for friends but mostly myself.

Opening the door, the cozy scent of light incense and Palo Santo wafted into my nose. I knew right then it was going to be something a out of the norm. The dimly lid store had a cool, clean, modern mix with bohemian, zen kind of vibe. The kind of store I could personally hang out in for a good hour (or two) just for the smells and all the awesome random finds!! (If only the kids weren't with me today...) While it isn't really a kid geared store- I found something for just about every age group. It's a mix of (extremely clean & crisp) vintage trinkets and clothes, gorgeous more natural lines of personal care, a few beautiful cannabis based things, just funky randomness, classic & modern art, air plants in stellar wall hanging containers, jewelry, (did i mention cool vintage things that were immaculately cleaned??!) well made things I'd like for my next house...it just had a bit of a whole lot of really neat stuff. I'm definitely coming back- again & again. Probably every time I need to find a gift of something a little more unique for some of my cool friends that prefer unique random finds.
