We were in Visalia for my friend's bachelor party, and Troy, the sole owner who's been running this place for 30 years, went completely above and beyond. He opened the shop after hours just to host our group. He showed genuine hospitality from someone who truly cares about his customers and his community and the cigar experience. The humidor was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully stocked with great cigars, and the vibe was exactly what you want from a real cigar lounge: relaxed, welcoming, and authentic. Lots of cool game animals on the wall too! Troy is incredibly down to earth, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. He's the kind of owner who makes you feel like a regular even if it's your first time in. This spot is almost an hour from home, but we make the trip as often as we can because the cigars are always top quality and affordable. One thing my husband really appreciates is how knowledgeable and welcoming the staff is. He doesn't have a go-to cigar, so he often relies on their suggestions, and they never disappoint. We also love that they have a solid selection of humidifiers and accessories. The shop is located in downtown Visalia, has plenty of parking, and the comfy couches make it a great place to hangout and relax. Troy Benne has been the owner of Sequoia Cigar for about two year. Boy, has he turned this place around. Yes, the same furniture, but the inventory, the customer traffic, and the vibe surpasses what the old ownership could ever accomplish. You now get someone who knows cigars and treats this as a full time business. It is not a "rich man's hobby." The selection of cigars is broad and the inventory is deep.
