The session times were the perfect amount of time and it was inexpensive. The only thing in is the line is long but it moves. I can't wait to go next summer. I prefer it over wild waves any day. Cons: the lazy river I sustained an injury from because I was holding in the outside of my daughter's tube and my foot hit a large metal grate at the top.It hurt so so bad and I was limping after. When I came and told the staff they iced me up and wrapped up my toes. So that is something to definitely be careful of.

Celebration Park is a decent sized park in Federal Way. It's also a park in King County and…read moreautomatically you can tell it's better maintained than many of those in Pierce County, specifically in Tacoma. Activities that this park is mostly geared towards is sports as there is several spots for baseball, football and other ball games. Nice walking paths here that take you to a community center nearby and a forested area with several different trails meandering through the trees. Some of these paths link ip to the BPA Trail, a walking and bicycling path.

They have a splash pad/very shallow area for the littles, 2 different sections of deeper water, the DEEP area where they alternate diving and free swim and a whirlpool. The pool is heated which can be a little weird on hot days but was mostly fine. My parents would have loved it since they get cold easily. Our little one was allowed to go in either in her floaties or in our arms. The locker rooms were clean and large and I appreciated the family rooms that are available. I only wish we lived in Fircrest so we could get a discount to use it but we love it all the same!

It's not a terribly large park or the kind of place where you spend an afternoon or a whole day with it utilizing the parks features so it isn't exactly a place that would attract people from out of town or many tourists( Like Point Defiance for example). There is a modern and fresh looking playground for kids to play on and a nice strip of land to play with your dog or an informal type of ball play which was nice to see.

This park is in the middle of the Hilltop neighborhood in Tacoma. If you don't go off of the beaten…read moretrack or know where it is this park is easy to miss. Ferry Park is right in the middle of the street. The street divides around it which makes it very unique and memorable. In addition to that there is some signage that illustrates the history of the park which is very interesting. It sounds like this is Tacoma's first park which is cool. On these signs it describes the various face lifts the park has gone through over the years and how back in the 1940's the children in the neighborhood launched a protest due to the park experiencing disrepair and the removal of amenities. The children won out in that one. The park isn't a very big one so some of the changes that it has gone through is moving playground equipment to one corner of the park so the rest can be a playing field. At one point in time there were quite a few statues here but some got moved to Wright Park. Currently there aren't any statues at all. Kind of a sad thing... as the signs indicate that the park has experienced disrepair and neglect in the past it seems like the same issues remain. There are large cotton wood trees around the park fence and a very large branch came and struck one part of the fence, really busting it up. I'm not sure if this was recent or not... it appeared to be and may have been due to recent snowy weather but it is a bit of a concern as to how soon the repairs could happen. In comparison to other parks in town Ferry Park is definitely more on the basic side. There are no water features, pools to play in the summer (but there once was) or anything like that but the merit I found with this park was more it's history than anything else.
