For years, we've wanted to see The Sleepy Hollow Experience at Serenbe Playhouse, but haven't been able to make it out for one reason or another. One reason is because this show has been sold out for six seasons straight. You have to plan ahead. After finally attending The Sleepy Hollow Experience this past weekend, I can see why it consistently sells out. It's good! We bought our tickets a little over two months in advance. My friend purchased the tickets for us and got us a great deal that worked out to $31 per person after any taxes and fees. Tickets are regularly $50 per adult, $45 per student/senior, and $60 per VIP (not sure what that includes). In 2019, The Sleepy Hollow Experience is playing September 27th through November 3rd. Shows occur Wednesday through Sunday nights. There's a family-friendly daytime version that takes place at 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The show is rated "PG" and includes "light sexual innuendo and a handful of scares." The scares are jump scares. Serenbe Playhouse is an outdoor, immersive theater. You walk around a big set, in nature, with the actors and even have opportunities to interact with them. The concept is neat and a lot of fun. It's different and can be a lot more interesting than your typical theater experience where you just sit and watch a performance play out on stage. At The Sleepy Hollow Experience, we watched most of the acts while standing. One act did have chairs and benches for sitting. Shows go on in the rain, so come prepared. Pay attention to the weather forecast and wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Bring layers if needed. You'll be outside the entire time, standing on dirt, clay, grass, gravel, dead leaves, branches, etc. If conditions are wet, it can get muddy. For night shows, consider bringing a flashlight or using the light on your phone to help you get around. Restrooms consist of a row of porta-potties. Parking (free) changes for each production so be sure to follow the instructions on Serenbe Playhouse's website, specific to the show you're attending. http://www.serenbeplayhouse.com/plan-your-visit/directions-and-parking At The Sleepy Hollow Experience, there were two bars located on-site: (1) a smaller bar near the parking lot and porta-potties and (2) a larger bar near the production with lawn games like corn hole and ring toss. Like the rest of Serenbe Playhouse's structures, the bars have a natural, rustic look to them (sort of one with nature) and are nicely-decorated with string lighting. The larger bar has limited seating (e.g. picnic table). We purchased glasses of hot apple cider in Serenbe Playhouse clear souvenir tumblers ($10 each). We went to the Friday night late show at 10:30pm. It ended promptly, close to midnight, and included an intermission. During intermission, we could take pictures with the cast and even play corn hole with one of them. That was cool. In light traffic, it takes about 35-40 minutes to get to Serenbe Playhouse from Atlanta. I would allow 45 minutes to an hour if you are coming from the north side of Atlanta and even more if you're coming from the northern suburbs. You will have to drive onto bare, bumpy ground to park, so keep that in mind. Also, you will be out in a remote location so cell service may be spotty (in our experience, AT&T had better signal here than T-Mobile). As for the actual Sleepy Hollow Experience production itself, it was terrific. We all really enjoyed it. It was a high-quality production and by that I'm referring to the acting, costumes, music, sound, and lighting. These are true professionals and they know what they're doing. The actors not only acted well, but they played musical instruments (e.g. accordion, guitar, violin) and sang well too. This was a truly talented and entertaining group of individuals. The Sleepy Hollow Experience was expectedly eerie, but it had plenty of moments of levity and humor too. It was a lot of fun. We moved from place to place on the set with Serenbe Playhouse staff/volunteers to help guide, and sometimes scare, us. The ratio of actors to audience was 5 to about 90. The Headless Horseman exists and we saw him, multiple times, from far away and up close. It was awesome. Yes, they use a real horse and real fire. As this is an outdoor night show during the Halloween season, the entire setting is literally very dark. Only the stages and set pieces are professionally lit. The pathways and rest of the outdoor space are lit with torches and ambient/natural light. Through this production, my eyes have been opened to the greatness of Serenbe Playhouse. I wouldn't mind returning to see a different show in the future. TL;DR - Go see The Sleepy Hollow Experience at Serenbe Playhouse. It's an excellent production and a very fun experience. There's a reason why it's on American Theatre Magazine's list of "Top Five Halloween Plays in the Country" and is regularly sold out, year after year. No question, it's worth the drive from Atlanta. read more

We came for the Sleepy Hollow Experience with some friends and also (on a separate occasion in the same season) brought our toddler to see the Jungle Book. Both productions were phenomenal. The afternoon weekend performance of the Jungle Book we caught with the toddler was on an unfortunately hot day. The playhouse is outdoors, with outdoor, non-covered (read no shade) seating. We ended up sitting on a jacket we found in the back of the car on the floor in the sort of shade of a tree to get out of the sun. Even with the heat, the performance was great! The actors didn't let the heat bother them, and were at 100%. Our kiddo LOVED it and spent the rest of the day singing the songs. Be aware, you are pretty much parking on a dirt road next to some trees and there is some walking (non-paved trails) to get to the 'playhouse' itself. There is a small kiosk selling snacks, beer, and drinks. The evening performance of the Sleepy Hollow Experience was awesome. There is quite a bit of walking and the entire performance is outdoors, so dress appropriately. We were VERY lucky the evening of our performance was a perfect crisp bright fall night, with absolutely no rain. If there is rain before your show, the roads and floor would likely be pretty muddy. I was very very impressed with the acting and the LIVE horse (so well behaved!!). Again keep in mind you will be driving and walking on dirt/non-paved roads so prepare accordingly. Serenbe is a bit of a drive from Atlanta, but totally worth the experience. Also consider spending the weekend at the farmhouse, or getting an AirBnB etc in the area. The Headless Horseman story is brought to life by a handful of incredibly gifted musical performers. I loved being a part of the adventure as we physically journeyed throughout the Sleepy Hollow to the school house, bridge and party. I found strong connections to the characters and felt deeply involved in their stories. I was most impressed with the way they interacted with the audience in the break. I was taken aback by the skill of the horseman and the horse as well. I can't say enough good things about this show. My only regret was that I was unable to see it at night due to scheduling conflicts. I highly recommend it. Note: Be sure to arrive early and allow time for parking and walking to the location. Serenbe Playhouse deserves all the five stars they get. Each production is unique as you follow the performers through the sets, whether it is through the woods for the Snow Queen, or a barn and stables for the Sleepy Hollow experience. They are a must do if you are coming to the area! Each production offers cocktails and snacks that match the production. We flew back down from Boston to see the Snow Queen because the Sleepy Hollow Experience was so fantastic. We walked away knowing our time and money was well spent. Once again, Serenbe Playhouse has enchanted me with its unconventional production methods. We braved wind and rain and drove an hour out to see The Snow Queen this past weekend only for the production to experience "technical difficulties". Because of the poor weather, the sound only worked about half the time and it was difficult to understand what was going on in such a big group without the audio. HOWEVER, the performers clearly understood what was happening and did everything they could to compensate- that poor Snow Queen was shouting as hard as she could against the wind and they exaggerated their physical actions to help express the dialog. This kind of improvisation is the sign of a good performer- they didn't just stop, shrug, and walk off the "set"... they were "the show must go on", personified. The lack of audio did not take away from the fun settings, gorgeous costumes and the overall spirit of the play. And as soon as the performance was done, they very apologetically thanked us for coming out to see the show- and their sincerity was no act. What gives them this five-star rating is, the very next day, I receive an email from Serenbe Playhouse, apologizing and offering complimentary tickets to any future production. The professional way they handled their downfall is what will draw me all the way back out to the farm in the future. read more

Let's be clear. This is an outside amphitheatre with bench stools (many full of dirt) as seats in the middle of the woods. A playhouse is an actual building. This is not a building. The advertising for the experience was deceptive. The pictures on the Goldstar app had an African American Captain Hook. He was not there & I am not sure if any of the folks pictured on the Goldstar app/website were there. Yet, I give the performance a 4/5, but I would give the "venue" a 1/5. Captain Hook actually was a highlight. I remain steadfast in disappointment about the venue. I suggest something as simple as complementary place mats or waterproof cushions for those hard bench seats. Also I just would expect a better description of the experience so patrons can prepare. Change the picture on the website and put the real actors there. read more

We attended a performance of The Sleepy Hollow Experience on Wednesday October 28th. It was definitely an "experience" I had such high hopes as I love the theater, performing arts and the story of Sleepy Hollow. My parents (63 and 70 years old) were visiting from out of state so I thought this could be an interesting experience for them. Little did I know that there would be A LOT of walking (to and from parking mostly) and no sitting throughout the show. We did expect some walking but not 1/4-1/2 mile through a muddy field. The parking was a disaster- not sure why we had to park so far back and hike through a dark field to get all the way to where the performance was. Once the performance started it was great. I really liked the actors and the way they story was told. These actors were all very talented and you can tell they had their heart and souls in it. The bad part was the standing- not for me but for my parents. There was one scene in the play where chairs were set up but only could seat around 1/3 of the audience. During intermission my parents had to find a seat to rest. Walking back to the car was bad. My poor Dad was having a hard time- it was really muddy and slippery. Thank goodness they had a golf cart available to pick him up and drive us to our car. I really don't know if he would have been able to make the walk back if they didn't have that golf cart. In conclusion my issues were not with the performance itself, rather the set up and location of the performance. They need to work on a better parking solution for when the weather is wet and ground is muddy. Also more seating should be added. Each scene should have enough seating for everyone- it would have been so much more enjoyable. I'm not sure if we will go again. $25 per person is very steep for this performance. read more

Outdoor theatre at its best! I went to see Miss Saigon last summer and it was truly magnificent. The actors were brilliant and the story was moving. The production even had a live helicopter! It was such an amazing experience that I've been wanting to go back since. Fast forward to this year and my anticipation to see sleepy hollow (another show with excellent reviews). I was responsible for purchasing tickets for my group, but due to my delay only a limited number of tickets remained. I called the box office directly and I spoke to the manager, Sarah. She was very understanding and told me she would make a phone call to see if there was room to increase inventory in order to accommodate my request. Within an hour she called me back with good news! Truly excellent and responsive customer service which I greatly appreciated! Looking forward to experiencing Sleepy Hollow in October. Beware, this is an outdoor event and as such, it is subject to the elements. However this is explained to customers in advance with proper warning (you can purchase rain insurance) . The risk is inherent for outdoor theater. On the other hand, with weather permitting, you'll surely be in for a wonderful show while enjoying cocktails outdoors. read more

We went to see The Sleepy Hollow Experience! It was so much fun! The 10:30 show did not have a large crowd as other reviews said that's been an issue. I am a short person and I was able to see everything. There is walking and some standing but only in small increments, it's not a difficult hike or anything. The snacks were good and so were the beverages. Stale popcorn, but since it was outside I didn't think about it too much. The experience was great and the cast is so interactive and funny. read more

So I first went to their Sleepy Hollow play in October and loved it. They did a spooky feel really well and kept it lively with the audience. I am only 5 foot and was able to see at all times which was nice. My favorite part was the intermission since it was fun to play the games and try all the yummy snacks. I then took my daughter to see The Snow Queen. They did branding much better with this play and had glowing cups and Wands for purchase. They did have treats to buy prior which was good. The day I attended was the last day it was showing and raining and they did a great job not letting the weather affect their performance. The only issue was I couldn't see the majority of it. It does move around but since I'm short I kept being blocked by others and it was crowded. Also I wish it was a bit longer. There was no intermission and it seemed really short. I also heard others complain that they wish it had a setup similar to sleepy hollow. Overall I enjoyed the plays and will return for more. read more

First timer to the Serenbe Playhouse- Sleepy Hallow (Oct 2018) and we will definitely come back! I had heard neat things about this place and read a few reviews. For starters come prepared! This play is outdoors so wear appropriate shoes (ladies no flip flops), I would recommend casual clothes you don't mind being in the woods for. We had to drive on an off beaten path, and park in a huge field. We were welcomed by a character that checked us in... also ladies there are ONLY porta-potties so ya might wanna use the potty before you leave home :-) The woods are strung with lights and tiki torches adding such an awesome ambience to the play. Music playing, a bar with drinks and snacks. The bartenders are in full character throughout the play- they're funny/give you a hard time but we played along and it was hilarious. The play has an entire sound system with lights, fog machines, actors sing songs, interact with the audience, make you laugh and have fun as you play along. Intermission was an opportunity to get a photo with the actors, bluegrass music playing, corn hole games and folks dancing. After intermission the story resumes and Ichabad Crane then has to face the headless horsemen! And yes... there is a real horse! In my personal opinion, I'd recommend this play for High School and up (due to a few sexual innuendos). read more

I cannot recommend this place enough. I am absolutely in love with serenbe playhouse. It is my favorite theater place that I have visited. Every show is in a different location in Serenbe and instead of some boring theater room, you are outside in nature. It's truly amazing. So far I have seen Robin Hood, Peter Pan, Little Mermaid, and Sleepy Hollow. I don't even know which was my favorite. They repeat the most popular shows every year- Sleepy Hollow and the Snow Queen. I will certainly be returning to Sleepy Hollow every year and this year I hope to see the Snow Queen. They typically have day and night performances for most shows. There are also usually discount tickets on gold star. Make sure to pack sunscreen for day performances. Some shows are in the shade of the trees but the Little Mermaid was on the water and there was not a speck of shade. Parking changes each time and can be a bit confusing but they usually have cast helping you. Now I will say, some of the performances involve walking and uneven ground so I wouldn't bring older guests here. The town of Serenbe is right nearby and you can stop by for a popsicle at the general store before or after a performance. I love coming here. It's a drive from Atlanta but it's definitely worth it. read more

I attended the showing of Miss Saigon and I loved it! I must admit the anticipation of the real Vietnam helicopter flown in the production by veterans was palpable and a definite hit! It did not upstage the actors but added an element to the performance that made the audience feel transformed in time and a part of the show. ( We too wanted to get on that helicopter and we were disappointed that it took off without us!) This was my first experience with Serenbe but definitely not my last. PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE REVIEW BEFORE YOU BUY!!!! The Sleepy Hollow Experience is an "experience" I'd rather forget, but for the sake of a future victim I will give details on the atrocities and shenanigans in hopes of saving your hard earned money from these "con-artist". Like you, given the fact that most of the shows were sold out and after looking at the well done website, I had high hopes that this was going to be an exciting rendition of the story of the headless horseman. Boy, was I wrong! The story had no plot and I think the main goal of the entire event was to take your money and get you to spend more at the bar, while being chastised by the staff. This review will walk you through the night, step by step in hopes that you will agree with me, really folks, save your money! When we arrived, there were 3 of us fools, spending about $25.00/each, we walked up on a beautiful outdoor setting with a wonderful ambience. We were directed to a small area "across the foot bridge" where the play began about 15 minutes late so that everyone had time to get through the bar line. I am sure this was in an effort to accomplish their goal of acquiring more money from the crowd. This first part started off promising, with an introduction of the 5, yes 5 and ONLY 5, players in the entire play. Unfortunately it went down hill from here. We were then "herded" to the next area, which took quite some time given the size of the crowd. This area was called the covered bridge, and was constructed from pallets which were put together to make the walls to a very long narrow covered bridge type structure, on solid ground. The audience was placed in a tight semi-circle at the end of this structure, where the play continued. The performance in this area only lasted about 2-3 minutes, leaving the audience confused. The scene at this stop consisted of a small narrative and then Icabod walking through the covered bridge, and the headless horseman making an appearance at the end of the bridge, which we did not see since we are positioned on the sides of the semi-circle. All in all, it was very underwhelming and pointless. Again, we were herded to the next scene, which lasted about 10 minutes and took place at the "school house" which was about 100 feet away. There was seating in this area, but most of the audience had to stand due to limited seating and the size of the audience (which was way too large in my opinion for a play like this). Again, the plot of the story was lost on random songs and useless narrative. This scene was to basically set up the "Halloween Party" which was just a trip back to the bar so folks could spend more money before the play continued in this same area for another 10 minutes. Then we were MOOOOOved back to the covered bridge where we stood in another tight semi-circle for about 2-3 minutes while something, I am not quite sure what, happened...then we were divided to either side on the outside of the covered bridge. We could barely see through the slats of the walls as the headless horseman made his second and last appearance through the bridge, killed Icabod off stage, and then rode back through the bridge, lasting about 5 minutes. Then the announcer surprisingly said "thanks for coming, now leave" and that concluded the play. No bows, no clapping, the cast just vanished, probably in embaressment or so the crowd would not turn on them in anger. This left the audience confused and dumbfounded. What just happened? How much did we spend on this play? How long did we actually drive to get here? Who are these people that think that it is ok to steal people's money by performing such a stupid, useless piece of work? These are not artist, these are CON-ARTIST. We decided out of all the plays we have attended, which include elementary school, middle school, high school, college, church, local community and Broadway plays, this is by far the WORSE one we have ever seen. Even our 12 year old agreed and she was not amused or entertained at all. This is a waste of money for all ages! Again, I can not emphasis enough, no matter how cool this play sounds or the raving reviews (which we could only deduct were given by friends or family) DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS AWFUL EXPERIENCE! read more

I give this place 5 starts. It is some of the best theater I have ever see in my life. I have been to about 10 plays here and also see the Sleepy Hollow Experience every year. This theater has the best attitude and motivation for doing what they love. The summer of 2019 I went to the 2 week long acting camp here and we put on Shrek the Musical. All of the directors and apprentices had a great attitude and were very loving. I would specifically like to thank Ms. Jessica for such effort and hard work. She preformed in Hair every night before camp and then came and made us feel at home and made us laugh the next day. The whole camp is so sweet and I will be doing it for as long as I can. read more

I went to the Oklahoma! production by Serenbe Playhouse last weekend and I have to say: I wish I had gone sooner! Sure, it was a bit of a drive (34 miles from our house one way) and we got lost a bit on the way back (It was very dark after the show ended at 11:30pm). However, the venue is MAGICAL and worth your drive! For this particular production, they held the musical at a 1905 barn. They actually housed the orchestra inside the barn at the upper level. The cast moved in and out of the barn onto a stage right in front. Yes, you are seated outdoor under the stars and the actor in the opening scene rode a real horse from the stable at Serenbe, that's how awesome it was! I saw on the program that they also produced another show on the dock side of a lake at Serenbe since that play was set on a lake. I also heard the upcoming Fall show will be done at the stable at Serenbe and I am already thinking to get a group of friends to go for a fun night out. If you intend to eat dinner in any of the Serenbe restaurants before the show, you must make reservations in advance because I could not get a seat at the time I wanted when I called last minute. They do offer beverages for sale at the performance but I saw some people bringing their own cooler too. My husband actually claimed this was one of the best date nights we ever went on! If you are still undecided if you should drive that far to watch a play, don't hesitate, just go. read more

Love! We saw A Streetcar Named Desire about a month ago after having dinner at the Hil at Serenbe. The play was amazingly good - very good actors, beautiful sets. The only issue is sitting outdoors, before sunset in Atlanta area in the summer - MOSQUITOs and humidity. They offer complimentary "Off!" at the entrance but as a mosquito magnet, I wasn't too happy. Oh well, the bar serves drinks and the play is great - so we got lost in it and enjoyed, sweat and red bumps be d*ed. read more

My husband and I attended the Sleepy Hollow Experience produced by Serenbe Playhouse in 2013, and we'll definitely be back in 2014! The actors were incredible. Everything is staged at the stables at Serenbe, so dress appropriately for outdoor weather and walking around a barn and grassy area. In 2017 my family first attended the Sleepy Hollow Experience, and we thought it was fun and unique. The actors had great chemistry and the setting was like something out of a fairy tale. My daughter and I eagerly looked forward to this year's production, and all I can say is that it was underwhelming and cheerless. To begin with, you should be aware that all of the cloaked extras who serve as bartenders and staff are there to be jerks to you. Apparently this is supposed to add to the fun, but if you don't enjoy strangers treating you rudely, you might skip this production altogether. I don't mind playfulness, but after standing in line and trying to peer at a menu at a poorly lit outdoor bar, the last thing I was in the mood for was to be ridiculed by two bartenders with badly done English accents. The cast is mostly new this year, and they did their best. By no means were they bad, but they didn't seem to have the same fun as the cast from last year. For the first half of the play, there was dead silence from the crowd in parts that were meant to be laughed at. I felt sorry for them. The attendees are largely an older, moneyed crowd, and there were a few elderly in attendance last night. It's important to know that you actually have to get up and walk through the property throughout the play. This can be challenging to anyone with mobility issues. And again, the rude staff is there to scream at you to hurry along as you walk through the dark fields. I'm a lover, not a fighter, but I seriously felt like throat punching one of them by the end. Compared to last year, this year's setting felt like it was thrown together without as much attention to detail. It was less festive and poorly lit, which didn't add to the charm. All in all, the actors themselves did fine, but I likely won't be back again for this "experience." read more

Went to the Sleepy Hollow Experience - Revival this weekend and it was a LOT of fun. I really didn't know what to expect, but I imagined we'd be sitting watching a play. It wasn't like that at all. It was pretty interactive and everyone moved around the barn, inside and outside. Very atmospheric and fun! The intermission even involved snacks and games at "Katrina Van Tassel's family farm" and the actors stayed in character throughout. Highly recommended!! I hope they do it again next year. read more

We had been talking about going to Serenby Farms - to EAT - for years and to break through the foot-dragging, I bid on a season tickets set for Serenby Players at a school auction and won. Oh, that's nice I thought.... so, we went to Ten Mile Lake, then took nieces to Wizard of Oz, then Oklahoma! - and just got to see the Sleepy Hollow Experience last weekend, which was not part of the package.... I never want to miss one of this innovative and engaging troupe's performances again. It makes me feel that either the rest of my theater experiences are enjoyable but pedestrian (which I doubt), or that this team is doing AMAZING radically engaging interactive and thoroughly unique stagings and performances unlike any I have ever encountered. The use of the farm in each scenario was stunning and brilliant. You must go. read more

We've been to the Serenbe playhouse twice-to see Sleepy Hollow and the Snow Queen! Both experiences were magical. We loved the costumes, the locations and the stories. We are going to make both of these plays a tradition for us and are hoping to see many more of their plays next year! Sleepy Hollow is a must see!!! I went here for my birthday with a group of friends. The location was made for Sleepy Hollow. The playhouse is located in the woods, literally, you have to drive through a field to get there...make sure you take the appropriate car. We attended the 8pm show, and it was already dark when the play started. The play is "interactive" but not overly interactive, which can be annoying. The actors sometimes talk to the audience, but there is no audience participation (which I liked). Although you stand the entire time, it's not tiring. You walk to about 3-4 stage locations following the actors along the route. There is an intermission where the actors take picture with the audience, which is a fun addition. We had an amazing time at the Sleepy Hollow Experience! We are from Florida and don't have anything like this around us, we loved every minute of it. The idea of changing scenes makes it fun and keeps it fresh, we never knew what was coming next. The cast was amazing, they mesh so well together and play off of each other, they had us laughing the whole time. It seemed effortless between them and you could tell that they love what they do, which made it even better. I've already recommended to it to co-workers going to Georgia next year and they are already making plans to attend. read more

My husband and I thought it was hysterical!!!! Don't go if you don't have a sense of humor....it will go right over your head! And those complaining about the story not 'climaxing' obviously do not know the story of Sleepy Hallow. They add a refreshing spin that was entertaining the whole way through! The idea of putting this play outdoors was a good one. Actors were very good. Jokes were funny. Overall not too bad. It rained yesterday so the climax of the play was very disappointing. We were all waiting to see the headless horseman chase Icabod Crane on the bridge. No horse, No horseman. Never seen a production of sleepy Hollow without this character. He seems to be pretty integral to the play. Kids were very disappointed. read more

Saw "Peter Pan" with grandkids. Much fun-small troupe of six covered the ten roles very nicely. Great staging, singing and dancing. Just about 1 hour long. Kids and adults all enjoyed it. (Captain Hook stole the show.) read more

We took our daughters (aged 10 & 12) to see The Little Mermaid last night. This was our first time to the Serenbe Playhouse. In an effort to level set expectations (or so we thought), we repeatedly told the girls this would be nothing like seeing a show at The Fox. And to our surprise, we were we right! This was SO MUCH BETTER!! An outdoor theater, on a lake, with a live orchestra/band, amazing talent, creative set designs and beautiful costumes. The entire cast did an OUTSTANDING job! Drove 1 hour to get there. Rained through the performance. Walk from parking to show slippery and hazardous for walking esp for elderly. Couldn't hear or see any thing due to rain and everybody's umbrella. Truly disappointed. Don't think will go back. Management needs to stop or reschedule the performance if weather doesn't permit. read more

Great venue if outdoors. Not so hot if raining. Wonderful experience. Will go again. Be sure you can stand for an entire performance or bring a folding chair. You will be walking around from one scene to the next when outdoors. Sweater/coat needed in fall and winter. Be prepared if it rains and you are outdoors. Otherwise this is a gem of a playhouse. read more

Stayed at the Inn this weekend with my fiance. Purchased tickets for the Sleepy Hollow show. We expected the weather to be bad, nothing could be done about that since the play is performed outside, but the play was not good. My daughter (12) could have written a better script. Why so much about him liking the girl - that is not scary nor important. Was the headless horseman jealous?? Cheap jokes and poor singing. Little to no point to the rude dead people walking around in cloaks. The horseman trotted by twice. That was all. Please spend some money to put down hay or gravel or buy more lanterns to make that walk down that path safer. Someone could twist their ankle or otherwise seriously injure themselves. read more

I was so looking forward to this and was so disappointed. A friend and I had purchased tickets to Sleepy Hollow, but our show was rained out so we exchanged for Snow Queen, which was fine with us. We had never been before and as we arrived, were rather confused by the parking. We did find the very small lot which had no room left and a person in front of us, clearly also confused, took forever to navigate through as there are some spots that seem like parking until you realize no one would be able to get through if you use them. We ended up parking on the street, which is residential. By then I was frustrated, so rather than drive back down the whole road, I just took the first spot I saw which was pitch black and required use of our phone flashlights. We laughed it off and went to the concession stand where we became excited about the prospect of a spiked hot chocolate on a cold night. $7 for a hot drink that was not even lukewarm and quickly became cold since there were no lids, even though it was uneven terrain. We pretended to be happy with our drinks and didn't even admit the evening wasn't looking good at this point until we were in the car on the way home. The play started about 15 minutes late and we were able to see the first scene. From that point on, we stared at people's backs. Three scenes were performed and at best, we could sometimes see their heads. People around me were on tiptoes. You can see in the front, but in spite of that, a couple parents in the very front still kept their kids on their shoulders. No biggie, though, because we couldn't see either way. I tried to follow the play by listening to the dialogue. The play didn't seem very good, but in fairness, I'm basing this on audio with no visuals. The actors seemed dedicated and I'm not knocking them, but the script wasn't great. One of the actors came through the crowd to be ready at the next set and when members of the audience didn't move fast enough, he could be heard to mutter that we needed to get some common sense. In his defense, this was the highlight of the night because we laughed the rest of the night about an angry reindeer telling us to get common sense. The laughing took place in the car and at the restaurant we went to when we gave up and left after 3-4 scenes we couldn't see at all about 30 minutes into the performance. Sleepy Hollow had been high on my to do list and I had planned to go next year, but I drove over an hour to not even be able to see. I won't be back. read more

This place was awesome! We went and saw the Sleep Hallow Experience and it was so good! it was raining a little bit but the show went on! I had so much fun and plan on going back for another play. What a great idea! And a perfect date night! read more
