Serendipity is a small family owned business that has been in Fairfield for I think like 35-40 years. I have to say that everytiime that I have been in there the people have been friendly and very helpful. They are small so they do not stock everything but they are willing to order items for you. I stopped attending church at the age of 12, my uncle was a pastor and died of cancer. I could not understand why such a horrible thing happened to such an amazing person. Now at the age of 45, I started reading my bible again, and am also reading my dad's bible -- trying to decide what version I like more, and also reading the notes my dad left in his bible. Went to Serendipity to see if they had books to help me understand what I am reading, and was met with open arms, and more guidance than I could ever imagine. Veronica was beyond helpful and more importantly she showed no judgement on how I lost faith as a child and am coming back, even items they didn't have in stock, she pointed me to where to get them online. Finally got the opportunity to visit during the weekday and I was thoroughly pleased! This store has such variety no matter what you might be looking for. I stumbled upon a huge selection of books in mint condition and for such a low price. I purchased a few things this visit but will definitely be returning soon. I have used this fine example of the kingdom of God here on earth from the onset of my entrance into the family of God. i also have purchased numerous books and study materials from here. I moved away in 2008 returning back 11 years later to find the same quality of service. those little daughters now grown up and have their own families now. I was still in their data base, even had our old home number still listed. yes they get 7 stars seven being the number of completion with our God. I've been to this store twice and both times I received superb service! The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful. One of the ladies working here helped me search for a book, written by one of my fellow church members, for quite some time. The book was sold out; however, they had it in stock on my second visit to this store. I'm extremely thankful for the staff member's help, since I probably would've been searching for hours on my own. Although I mainly looked in the books section, from what I've seen, they have an ample selection of Christian books, music, DVDs, clothing, and so forth. One of the few positive gems around. Whenever I need inspirational and biblical literature, songs, media or gifts, I drive from Benicia and support this store. Christian bookstores are few and far in between Bay Area cities. Online Christian bookstores may deliver faster, but sometimes People need to see, touch and read an item before actually buying it. The store has a good selection of Christian films and music, bibles, devotionals, commentaries, inspirational cards and gifts, and children's gifts. Whenever I've needed something out of stock, the clerks have consistently ordered it and called me upon arrival. Clerks are friendly, helpful and accommodating. Keep up the blessed work! I have been looking for this specific study bible for a few days now. B&N didn't even have it in store. With all the running around I did I could have ordered it and had it in a couple more days, but I didn't. I can be an "I want it now type of person" sometimes, and this was one of those times. I googled Christian Book Stores near me and Serendipity Bible House popped up. This was my last hope, if they didn't have it I would be forced to order it and wait. So I head downtown Fairfield. I walk in and instantly think to myself, they don't have it...I walk around for a sec and then ask for help. I show her the book online and to my surprise, she has the more expensive version...yea...leather...don't get me wrong, I love the leather better but not the price. I explained that I wanted the hardcover because it was less expensive and she replied, "let me see what I can do for you." She sits at the computer and when she returns she offers it to me for an unbelievable price....God is so good!!! This will be my first stop from this day on, even if I never get a discount ever again. They say you get what you pay for...well at Serendipity...I was blessed with much more. read more

Have been going here for years.... always find the staff to be helpful and friendly, and love the selection of products. I especially like their service in providing accompaniment tracks for songs. They've dug up 'unfindable' songs countless times for me. Over the years my only reservation with them is their location and parking. They are the only business I go into downtown Fairfield for, so it's always a special trip, and a few times there has been no parking to be found anywhere close. Well worth the trouble, though..... My Pastor told me about Serendipity. Before that, I didn't know we had a Christian bookstore in Fairfield. So I went there based on his recommendation and because I needed a cover for a large Bible. The lady there helped me find the right cover. Not only was she very helpful, but was also extremely friendly and courteous. I then spent about an hour in the CD and book sections, and bought four additional items. Not only do they sell new books - and have a great selection of them - but they also sell used books - also a great selection, and in excellent condition. I will now do all my shopping for Christian books, music and other items at Serendipity Bible House in Fairfield. They're right across the street from Chez Soul and have parking behind the book store. Serendipity provides a GREAT customer experience! read more
