Great store, cool owner, I've found some dope soul/funk 45's here. Rick James, Sheila E, Prince, Motown and Gordy. Tons of Rock and some very hard-to-find original pressings of different genres. They also sell some used turntables, CD players, etc in the back. They order new stuff too, and had a bunch of the good reissues and new LP's for Record Store Day. Best part is they have a listening station and it's in Napa!!! Would love to see more of an Electronic section.

Great small independent store. Found several great selections, but had to narrow down to three since I was traveling. I'll definitely stop in again the next time I'm in Napa!

Record Store Day Pickup! Great find; Taylor Swift Folklore Long Pond Studio Sessions

Amazing selection to choose from all together! I have gotten some of my best finds at this store. Very friendly owner and staff, they host performances too! The record pricing is extremely fair and not overpriced considering how much some of these records go for resale price once sold out!! Overall, this store is an incredible addition to Napa, and I highly recommend and suggest visiting and buying some Right On Records! I also got the incredible opportunity to perform at this store, and now have my own music being sold in this store! :)

After 20 dry years we FINALLY have a record shop in Napa! Right on!!! Fantastic record shop in the Little Caesars Pizza Shopping Center on California Blvd mere minutes from wine-soaked downtown Napa! I paid them a visit yesterday (Hello,Tim) with my friend Ray & felt right at home at once with the Flamin' Groovies & Big Star posters on the wall & records by The Who, Led Zeppelin, Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis, The Jam, Taylor Swift, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, The Velvet Underground, Flamin' Groovies & Big Star in the bins to name but a handful of the great artists I found in the bins. I dig that they have a NEW ARRIEVALS section so the regulars can go digging the latest additions...RIGHT ON!!! Ray got a bagful of records for only $50 with the likes of Proto Metal band DUST, The MENTORS (with the 7" included!) and a bunch of other gems. I got Evermore by TAYLOR SWIFT on pretty green vinyl! They also do Special Orders so if they don't have it they can likely get it. They also have a nice selection of books (including an ace book on THE JAM) that I hope to see grow in the coming months. A FEW SUGGESTION/THINGS I WOULD LOVE TO SEE: 1.) I would love seeing old music mags like CREEM,CIRCUS,CRAWDADDY,UGLY THINGS for sale as well as new ones like MOJO,CLASSIC ROCK ,GOLDMINE & PROG ROCK. 2.) Music DVDs. 3.) More CD Box sets. 4.) Posters for sale. 5.) Rock N Roll memorabilia (pins, old program books, trading cards, etc) 6.) Some Jerry Vale records for our pal,Bruce! Let's all support RIGHT ON!!! RECORDS finally a cool shop for music lovers in Napa... RIGHT ON with your RIGHT ON,BABY!

RSD 2024!

I highly recommend this record store! Great service every time, & a wide selection of pretty much everything at great prices. Had my first record store day experience here for 2024 it was awesome!

We came in with a small harmless Westie dog and were asked to leave and exit the store. Not much selection either. Oh well!

Will definitely be back. update: 3 months later. Came for trivia night. Had the "last word" drink which was okay. I also had the "tears of the kingdom" which was tasty. I'd have that one again. As soon as we approached the venue, there was a long line of people waiting to get inside. We arrived a bit later (around 8pm), and the crowd had already started to fill the venue. Mind you, it's a decent sized venue but not a massive space -- enough to accommodate at minimum 100 and likely max of 200 while still staying within code. There were several people coming in and out of the door, where the GM and bouncer for the night , appeared extremely stressed due to the amount of people in line and inside. A woman, who happened to be the wife of the DJ, stepped out to make a phone call and when she attempted to get back inside, proceeded to get yelled at by the bouncer saying she needed to go to the back of the line and wait like everyone else. The woman attempted to tell the bouncer her husband, who was the guest DJ for the night and is a historical, world renowned DJ (again using big names to draw crowds, and appropriating vinyl culture, but not respecting the very people in attendance), needed to tell him she'd be outside and would sit in the car. The GM started to yell and disrespect the DJs wife, and she ended up staying outside. Apparently this GM and venue are not used to larger crowds, and she essentially cracked under pressure. She went on to tell us the capacity was 67, and that they "were already at 200", which is a lie because there was a ton of space between people inside the venue (we have photos to prove it). She kept yelling and pushing people back. Girlfriend, this was not a Vegas club night. This crowd is 40+ (age) crowd, so it's not like people were out of control and acting debaucherous -- everyone was respecting the rules. If you couldn't handle the crowd, which btw you agreed prior to the 80-100 people expected for the party, then why was it such a hassle for your venue to handle the capacity. You knew a larger crowd was expected that night, it's your responsibility as a business owner to adequately staff the bar, door, etc. Yes; we needed to respect the door and the rules -- and everyone did. I won't get into further detail, but a physical altercation took place after the woman tried to return a second time (to again get her husband and tell him what was going on given she was being harassed at the door), putting hands on her in the process. Just completely out of line. Overall, this venue wants to appropriate the music and DJ culture, yet when the actual music and DJ community show up, there is no respect. Let alone for loyal patrons who have frequented your business and brought tons of revenue to the bar that night (which btw was extremely slow). Don't fall for the dog and pony show here. Go somewhere else that touts respects for their patrons, and for all walks of life -- not just the pretentious kind.

I've bought about 6 records from here and each one has been of excellent quality (anything not in the $5 bargain bin that I've seen is VG+). Great quality records are abundant. Plus, if you like the Facebook page, you get updates on all the new product, plus can see that the owner takes really good care of the records (busting out the spin clean!). While every business needs to make money, I get the impression that this is an owner who genuinely cares about the product they put out. Also, the prices are very fair. I've gotten records that are around or below the prices on Discogs (before shipping). The space is small and intimate, but very organized. You can get a good look at all the product in 15 minutes or at your own leisure. It's a very comfortable environment, and I plan on being a repeat customer.

Music Lovers Audio & Video is exactly what its name promises, and Spencer Giel is exactly the kind…read moreof person you want guiding you through one of the most rewarding and dangerous journeys you can embark on as an audiophile. I came in as someone just getting into the high end audio market, surrounded by gear I could only dream about, and Spencer never once made me feel unwelcome or out of place. I've visited other stores where you can feel judged the moment you walk in based on your wallet size. That was never the case here. As someone around my age with the same passion for amazing sound without millionaire budgets, he got it immediately. He worked with me from start to finish, helping me build a system that punches well above its price point. The result was a carefully curated blend of tubes and solid state that created a synergy I didn't fully appreciate until I heard it all together. He helped me select my Paradigm Persona 5F speakers, Audio Research LS27 preamp, Parasound A21+, AudioQuest Niagara 3000, and interconnects. Each brand chosen with intention, Paradigm out of Toronto, Parasound originally based right here in San Francisco, Audio Research from Minnesota, and AudioQuest from Irvine CA. Respected names with solid reputations in the audiophile community that fit my budget without compromising on quality. Any system I was curious about I was able to audition without any pressure or hesitation. That kind of access says a lot about how they treat customers. And it doesn't stop at the sale. They helped with three moves of my audio gear, something regular movers simply are not equipped to handle with equipment this precious. They also helped connect my system which is a level of service you just don't expect from a retailer. That kind of relationship goes well beyond a transaction. The store itself is filled with incredible gear across some of the most coveted lines in the industry. McIntosh, Audio Research, Boulder, Anthem, dCS, and speakers from Paradigm, KEF, Wilson, Sonus Faber, and more. They also specialize in home theater if that's your thing. Just be warned, every visit is a little dangerous to the wallet. And don't overlook their preowned section either, it's where real bargains hide. That's how I picked up my Audio Research preamp for half its original price. This place is a "Music Lovers" dream whether you are just starting out or building your end game system. Ask for Spencer Giel, he's the real deal!

Short version: 5…read morestars. Best of class in San Francisco for people who love music. Go there for good gear selection, good conditions to try stuff, honest expert opinions (that will challenge you), and professional service. Long version: I have been shopping at the San Francisco location for close to a decade now. Over that period, I bought three or four pairs of headsets, a turntable, and a tube amplifier, along with a set of random accessories. So, presumably, somewhere under $10k total. I am not rich by any standard, and every purchase usually takes me months, sometimes years before I make a decision. I have also, during that period, bought equipment from other shops as well (specifically a number of DACs that they do not carry), and sometimes online. On the "issues" side, I brought back my amp and they got it serviced for free, working with the company (something was defective with the power unit). I also had to replace the cartridge of my turntable (broken by a (now) former friend), and they got me a good discount on the replacement. Every time, this was handled seriously and professionally. What I like with Music Lovers: - I never feel pressured to buy anything - they let me hang out in the store for extended headsets listening sessions (yes, you have to show that you are serious about this, not just passing by) - when asking ahead of time, they will setup a listening room for me with a reproduction of my existing system for a test session (just that is gold) - they know what they are talking about - they are not afraid of having opinions and sharing them - not (too much) audiophile bullshit - their brand selection is satisfying - you can score good deals on pre-owned, demo units, or previous-gen - they are responsive Now, reading some of the negative reviews, I thought I would add a few words to help people make the best of it - or decide it is not for them. The most recurring complaint is that "they are arrogant", "customer service is disrespectful". Yeah well, this is audiophile territory. People in this are driven by passion before anything else. So, what do you want exactly? Passion, but without passion? Yes, they will dish out on gear WX, or push gear YZ, or might look down on you if you claim that your gimmicky Wirecutter-recommended-gizmo is awesome. Deal with it. Drop the entitled American customer attitude. Just because you have money does not make your every dumb view worthy of respect. If you can't tell the difference between an honest opinion and "bad" customer service, then you should go to Walmart. "Talking down to you" and out of your shitty takes is them doing you a big service, instead of sucking up to you and selling you whatever overpriced cool-aid. No one is forcing you to agree with their opinions, or get passionate yourself. Just take these in for what they are (informed, expert views), do some side reading and research, develop your ear, and test yourself to figure out what is good for you. Agree with what you can confirm. Then ignore the rest. Simple. At the end of the day, this is not so much about their attitude than it is about yours: are you in it to find gear that you objectively like? or for the "shopping experience", to have people polish that oversized ego, hypnotizing you into buying the latest over-hyped idiocy? Loving music is very much like loving wine. It is hard. Nothing is obvious at first. It is exclusive. It's about honesty, and developing that ability to focus on intrinsic qualities rather than whatever a gullible market say is good. It takes a lifetime of commitment to developing that organ. So, do you expect reverent staff feeding you, ad-nauseam, that disgusting, sticker-buyer $500 Napa Chardonnay? Or do you want to learn something about wine and get to experience that Chablis Grand-Cru? Have fun, music lover :-).
