I love Skye Salon, and of course the Lovely ladies who make the Salon! Susan the owner and Kimmy my usual hair stylist have out done themselves many a times!! That says alot considering I can walk in with some desperately damaged locks and leave with a restored beautiful maine. Skye Salon also specializes in color they have helped me go from severly damaged burgandy to a highlighted godess! Nobody was checking to see if I was being serviced. However, I understood this as the salon was very busy. Then, I walked to the front desk, and another extra 15 minutes later, I was told that another lady (who was having mani / pedi at that time) responded that, for some reason, she said yes to their question: "Hi, are you XXX?". Unfortunately, the business was packed for the holidays so they could not re-schedule me until the end of December. However, the biggest reason I chose not to go back to the place is that I did "overhear" them saying that I was mistakenly booked for NOVEMBER 19, 2014 (instead of DEC 19, 2014). But, the owner decided to blame the "other lady" (as above). The owner mentioned that she's sorry ( she wasn't apologetic AT ALL) and offered if I wanted free service. I refused. I understand the owner is trying to leave a good image of her business. Also, the "other lady" was finishing up her pedicure when I arrived at the salon at 12:10 P.M. and was beginning her manicure while all of this was going on, so I definitely knew the owner was not telling the true story. Overall, I was disappointed how she handled the situation. I understand mistakes DO happen and I would've honestly re-booked my appointment if the situation was handled more professionally. That's why I refused to re-book my appointment.

I went in and got an awesome pedicure and then also had a massage booked. The women who did my massage I don't think usually works there, I will say in the spas defence. She did not ask me any info on what type of massage I wanted and didn't have me sign or do the paperwork you usually get to give some background info or areas of concern. The room was very cold there was no spa music playing or relaxation oils. The massage itself was very light and awkward. I did ask for more pressure but didn't get any and she kept bumping into things in the background . I felt this person just may not have had a lot of experience. She didn't have an eye mask for me and had to leave the room to go get one , she also kept bumping off the eye mask and eventually she just left it off. I left with a head ache and felt I needed a massage after my massage. I went home and took some Advil after the massage due to my headache I want to say that generally I love su Casa spa ! And will keep going again for other treatments but would unfortunately would not recommend a massage by this person :( I feel bad even writing this post but it was actually that unenjoyable I felt compelled. I called around and was able to get in for an appointment at Canvas at the time and day I needed so that was how I ended up choosing this place over another. I was so impressed with Canvas Hair Salon and Marina in particular, I felt I had to write a review so others like me could find out about them. The interior is welcoming and modern but not overdone and soothing music is played while you're there. The products are excellent and the services are well priced. I absolutely do not feel like I am compromising or missing out on something I might get from a Vancouver salon. This place is top notch and I will definitely be coming back here and seeing Marina for my next hair cut.

Then they call me just a few days ago (over a month later) to say that the payment on my credit card was not processed. Someone forgot to do it. So the lady asked me to call her back after I checked my statements and I had gone away for a couple days, so before I even had the chance to check and call back she went ahead and processed it anyways.
