I finally found a stylist here that does an INCREDIBLE job with my hair colour. She is the first one I have found that is able to achieve the look I have been trying to get for many many years. And, to top it all off, she is extremely professional, nice, kind, and talented. In fact, all the staff I have interacted with her are inviting and hospitable. The salon is lovely as well - it feels comfortable, it's an Aveda salon so they have good quality hair colour, and they use all the yummy smelling products that can only be mistaken as Aveda. There is even a bowl of fruit and candies if you get a hungry stomach in the middle of your foils. And the cost is right where it should be. My head was burning & itching, I was very restless at the time and the whole experience was very frustrating. But my hair dresser helped me by fanning my hair, it actually worked a bit. It was a lot better after 10-15 mins, but I still had this urge to scratch my head. I was finally relieved once it was all washed off. When I walked in, she looked as if she didn't want to be there, offering no greeting or smile, and had a demeanor similar to an angry school teacher. She pointed to the chair, and asked me in a brusque manner, "What do you want to do today?" I specifically told her that I wanted to clean up my eyebrows without thinning them out. Despite this, she proceeded to roughly remove the hairs, causing me a lot of pain and leaving me with uneven eyebrows. When I pointed out that one eyebrow was thinner than the other, she refused to take responsibility for her mistake, blamed my eyebrows, and simply walked away. To add insult to injury, after threading my eyebrows, she didn't even apply any gel or cream, which is the usual practice to soothe the skin. When I asked her for some, she rudely extended her arm out to me with the gel and told me to do it myself. To make matters worse, I had gone to the salon two days before my birthday, and now I have to celebrate with thin, uneven eyebrows and a couple of scars. I'm extremely unhappy with the service I received, and I won't be returning to the salon. I do want to mention that during a previous visit, another esthetician, a kind and patient woman from Bombay, did an excellent job on my eyebrows. However, based on my most recent experience with the owner, I cannot recommend this salon. If you're looking for someone who is gentle, patient, and follows instructions, I suggest you look elsewhere.

I have a chronically dry scalp, and it is not contagious, and I told her so. The hairdresser did not believe me, told me if I wanted a cut so badly could hold it upside down and cut it straight across with scissors by myself! Went elsewhere, in tears, with a giant chunk of hair missing. The other place thoroughly searched my hair, and agreed it was just dry scalp, and gave me suggestions on how to fix it. The hairdresser there fixed to botched job that SmartStyle did. Obviously this woman had no clue how to cut my hair properly, and how to address scalp issues.
