Cards, art supplies, water colors, pens, midori, black wing, etc! I wanted it all. But at the end, decision paralysis set in and I only got a few things that I've never seen before...pink lead! Yes, that's right!! PINK LEAD. Also got some lavender and red leads. Of course I got the mechanical pencil and eraser as well. This is a must! Turlock was about 25 minutes drive from where I was staying. Will absolutely come back when I'm close.

They had a really impressive, quality, and fun assortment of art supply this and that in their funky and cool shop, and In no time I had a basket full of amazing treasures, and a head filled with new ideas and inspiration!! I have been putting off writing this review for some time... trying to give this business a second,…read morethird, and even fourth chance. Unfortunately, all these chances aren't making any difference. I honestly try to put myself in others' shoes and am often described as being very empathetic. Also, I generally try to support our small community here in Sonora by shopping locally and getting to know the small business owners. Most of them are very nice people and I love to frequent their shops because of it. The first owner, Gina, was quite pleasant, very welcoming, and tried to be helpful where she was knowledgeable. She recently sold the business to Beth Smith and I have had nothing but bad experiences with her. She is not helpful and not very welcoming. She is also incredibly unprofessional -- talking bad about other local businesses and not returning telephone calls. I am an avid crafter and will often spend a lot of money on my crafting supplies. However, I will not be giving Beth anymore of my money.

I never thought that I would enjoy painting because I don't think I have any artistic ability, so…read morewhen my mother in law suggested a girls night with my sister in laws painting a butterfly two years ago... I wasn't super thrilled at the idea but it sounded like I'd have fun because there was alcohol involved. Now I can say I have 6 different pieces hanging around my house that I am proud to say that I painted, thanks to Judy! Brush and Cork is not your typical "wine and paint night" where you get drunk and come home with a painting you may or may not like. Judy has the image sketched out on the canvas in pencil, so you are following along with her like a paint by number. She teaches you every step of the way, and makes sure that everyone goes home with something they love. I love that the canvases are pre drawn, because even if you don't feel like you have artistic talent you can bring home something beautiful. Other paint nights that I have gone to with a blank canvas just aren't as fun... I feel more stressed and like I'm wasting my money. Besides the fact that she makes it easy to kickback and have a fun night with your friends, Judy is a wonderful teacher. She takes her time, and goes at the pace of the class instead of just blasting through everything to make sure the class is over by 9. She wants everyone to succeed, and you can tell she isn't just following a "trend" and making it all about the money. She is a fantastic artist, and a great teacher. I've now moved over an hour away, and I still make the drive up to do paintings with my mother in law and sister in law, Judy is worth the drive. :)

It was a nice reprieve from listening to the Covid-19 news. Painting is a wonderful and healthy break from that!
