My name is Donna and I am a Nurse Practitioner. When I came to Serene Chiropractic, I was in excruciating pain that started at my buttock area that went down to my left foot (sciatica). It was so severe that I was having difificulty performing my job such as standing or sitting for extended periods of time. The pain was not from an injury, just appeared one day out of no were. I had seen a medical doctor that sent me to an orthopedic. The orthopedic told me he could do surgery but would not garenty me that the pain would go away. I was told I had spinal stenosis with arthritis. He then sent me to a pain specialist. In my field that is were you go when you are narcotic seeking. The pain SPECIALIST did nothing SPECIAL at all. I was given an epidural that did nothing, and was told if it doesn't work you can keep getting them. Say what! So at age 50, I couldn't live this way. I was big into physical activities, mud runs, bike rides oh and yes working -standing on my feet. My pain was so awful it would put me in tears, shooting, burning, numbing feelings. So I was lost going to the doc's in my own field that were suppose to help me, which gave me no hope. I walked into Serene Chiropractics 6ix months ago saying to myself, this isn't going to work. But how wrong I was. Thank God for Dr. Manish Sojitra and Oleg (Massage Therapist) for changing my life. I underwent Traction, Exercises, Adjustments, G5 Therapy, Electio Muscular Stimulation and Massage. I can say for the most part the pain is gone, I am able to work, run and do yard work now. My experience at Serene has been amazing! I purposely chose Serene because I live in South Elgin and I was looking for a place that does disc decompression. My injury is 2 herniated discs at L4/L5 and L5/S1 with sciatica pain that was not responding to other treatments. I have HMO insurance and only one chiropractor was covered in my plan, but he did not do disc decompression. I also like the holistic approach of Serene. Dr. Sojitra is VERY knowledgeable! He was patient and explained everything. Even though I was paying out of pocket I felt the prices were reasonable and well worth the treatments and experience. Oleg works with the doctor as the Acupuncturist and massage. He has a great sense of humor. He suggested probiotics, diet changes and massage that I could do on myself when I went home. He explained how the mind and body work together to heal. He explained how my injury was a compilation of years of events that happened to my body and how it would take time to get better and that change would be slow. This was not a sales tactic yet a reality. The bottom line is that you get more than you pay for with Serene and their staff. I would choose to pay out of pocket rather than go through my doctors covered under my insurance any time with Serene. Unlike my Western medicine doctors who are in and out in 5 minutes and only care about their specialty, Dr. Sojitra and Oleg, truly care about their patients and go above and beyond. They truly helped my pain, within a few sessions. I felt safe during my treatments. I would highly recommend them. My wife has MS and she is going to start going as well. read more

I am so glad I found Dr. Sojitra. I was just looking for a certified acupuncturist and I found so much more. I have been having a lot of lower back pain lately and have been to several doctors including a rheumatologist and physical therapists with no positive results from any meds. After sitting and talking with the doctor for 2 hours on a Saturday I learned that my issues will mostly due to a lock of core strength, tightness, and over use of the incorrect muscles. He is working with me on strength and conditioning of my core, I am using his decompression table, getting acupuncture, adjustments, dietary recommendations, and the proper way to stretch. It has been about 5-6 weeks now and I feel so much better and as we continue the core strengthening I can assume I will be close to 100% very soon. Chiropractic care is a several pronged approach to wellness and Dr. Sojitra offers every part of that instead of just 1 or 2. He also has a certified massage therapist/acupuncturist named Oleg that works for him that is more knowledgeable about Eastern medicine than anyone I ever met. If you have not had luck with medication or need something to go along with it to help pain, I can't recommend them enough. read more

After being on pain killers for years for my backache I was starting to get severe ache in my stomach. My doctor said it was gastritis due to my pain medications. When serene chiropractic and physical therapy opened in my neighborhood I was skeptical but decided to give it a try as my insurance covered it. I was surprised at the results. After 2 sessions my pain was 75% better. I was able to sleep through the night without pain killers. It was amazing. Dr. Sojitra was my providers and he has amazing hands. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who is considering chiropractic therapy. If you don't believe chiropractic will work for you I would encourage you to try Serene once for sure. read more

Dr.Sojitra is so great, I came in with a really bad back pain from falling on my tailbone, and only a few months later I feel great! He combines workouts, massage therapy, electroshock, and alignment to truly fix you and help you be physically healthier. He can even do acupuncture for people looking into it. My whole family goes here and we have all seen improvements, plus the doctor is super nice. It's never awkward or weird he just is one of those people you can talk to and the conversation stays interesting. Dr. Sojitra is remarkable. I brought my 14-year-old daughter in for back pain and within three visits there was a 90% improvement. He is not simply a 'back cracker' chiropractor. Every visit is extremely comprehensive beginning with soft tissue relaxation thru massage, electric stim., & heat pack, followed by the adjustments. In my daughter's case she needed strength training in addition to adjustments. He trained her well. You truly feel like you're getting your money's worth. The team here at Serene Chiropractic really care about their patients and offer custom tailored solutions to each clients problem. I tried two other Chiropractors prior to Dr. Manish for lower back pain that was limiting my ability to sleep and neither of them went into as much depth as Dr.Manish. After one adjustment I was able to sleep much better. I even drove three days a week from Chicago in bumper to bumper traffic just to get treatment from Dr. Manish.
