Inn At The Ridge - Another great room

We stumbled on the Inn at the Ridge through some Google searching. We only spent two nights, Friday and Saturday, so we were treated to Sal's weekend cooking. Easily among the best food at a B&B that we've ever had. When I booked, I didn't realize that I had booked the one room with a disconnected bathroom. Yes, it's private, but downstairs. Since the Inn wasn't completely full, they offered to relocate us to another open room, we didn't ask, they just suggested it. The house is old, like real old, so expect some quirks like wide creaky floors etc. The beds were quiet though, which was the important thing. Each room is uniquely decorated. The Inn is a nice distance from busy areas but not so far as to be a hardship. It's extremely close to Angry Orchard's Innovation cider mill, a state park with great trails, and even a little college town. I could probably go on, but Yelp's review editor is giving me issues. We'd definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

Our room was very comfortable with a king-sized bed. The location was perfect - close to Minnewaska state park, as well as several nearby towns and a few good restaurants. The breakfasts were the highlight of the experience! One of the hosts is a CIA-trained chef and he made fabulous food for us - chocolate-stuffed french toast, a great frittata, and more. They serve breakfast at a communal table, which is nice for getting to talk to the other guests there. We would definitely stay here again.

The room was beautiful and clean, with really gorgeous wood furniture and lovely paintings done by one of the owners. Breakfast was filling and delicious each morning, and the innkeeper was very quick to refill tea and coffee :) overall a wonderful stay and a place we will revisit whenever we're in Beacon. The Few room is similarly decorated with beautiful antique wooden furniture as well as a small library including historical texts about the room's namesake William Few. Despite its retro ambiance, it did not lack for modern conveniences. The room itself is quite spacious, more than enough for two people, and it has all the amenities you would expect including a large comfortable bed, a TV, water heater, and supplies to make tea. Every morning, we were offered breakfast which was served in a ornately decorated dining room and consisted of a tasty fruit salad as well as freshly baked croissants, scrambled eggs, fresh orange juice, and coffee. This was delicious way to start off the day that we looked forward to everyday. The best part of our stay was getting to interact with the owners. Throughout our stay we were well taken care of by Lynn. She was always available if we needed help and offered tips about what to see and do in Beacon. Overall, I highly recommend the Chrystie House for anyone looking to stay overnight in Beacon. It is a far more luxurious and intimate experience than what you would get at a hotel and was exactly what we were looking for during our weekend getaway.

The entire area is fenced in, and I felt very comfortable letting my dog roam around. There are plenty of chairs around so you can rest while the dogs explore and check out the different flowers, statues, etc. The patio was furnished well with tables, chairs, and rocking chairs. I stayed at the cottage, which came with its own patio, and had a kitchen, living space with a large TV, comfortable queen bed, and clean bathroom. I highly recommend it. I initially thought it was too much space for me and the dog, but it turned out to be great. Lots of space for the dog to roam around when it started to rain and it had a beautiful, bucolic environment. I also chose this inn for the breakfast, and Bernetta did not disappoint. She makes everything by hand and you can tell how fresh it is. I was welcomed with two homemade and delicious chocolate chip cookies. She offered two types of coffee, a flavored coffee and a regular one, and breakfast came with a freshly baked good. I stayed for two days. Saturday had a savory breakfast, and Sunday had a sweet one. Both were delicious. To highlight how fresh everything was, Bernetta had chosen fresh apples local to the area for the sweet Sunday breakfast. Bernetta is also an excellent host. She offered great tips and restaurant and activity recommendations. She's easy to talk to and went out of her way to make my dog and I feel comfortable. She also has a beautiful and friendly dog that loves to play. My dog and I cannot wait to come back!
