This is a review for Silver Spoon Cafe. My friends and I stopped by main st to get some hot drinks after our hike on a late Saturday afternoon . Many cafes down the street were serving through the window or if they are opened they don't seem to have restrooms for customers. I see a lady coming from the side of the cafe. As she walked out, I asked if there's a restroom. She replied yes. I went in. The gentlemen here were awesome. Great service! They greeted me and my friend. I got a regular hot chocolate. I also needed to use the restroom. Someone was on line for it, so we sat outside on the patio waiting. Another customer came in and wanted to use the restroom too. The gentleman came out to ask me if I still wanted to use the restroom. He informed me that I can go next since I'm waiting. I was touched. The restroom was clean and well maintained. It feels like you're at someone's home using their restroom. It makes sense because it is a hotel. I would definitely come back here to try their flavored hot chocolates. :) read more

Big, comfortable bed in a small room. The bathroom and shower were very large compared with the size of the bedroom. Shower had great water pressure and heat. The room was very clean, very quiet, heard nothing but birdsong. Jimmy, the owner, was outgoing and friendly and we ate in his restaurant downstairs. My only complaint about the hotel was the lights. They were so white and bright, it felt like being at the dentist. That included the bedside lamp. Made it hard to relax! Oh, also, lots of plastic. There were no glasses in the room, just plastic water bottles available, so I just refilled my water bottle throughout the stay. Tiny plastic toiletries, soap bars wrapped in plastic. Restaurant offers only disposable plastic utensils and drinks. read more

We stayed for one night in May and the location of this hotel could not have been better. You are right in the middle of Main Street surrounded by everything Cold Spring has to offer. The set-up is a little unusual - the front is a cute cafe and there are hotel rooms through the back - but the gentleman that greeted us (I think the owner?) was incredibly friendly and hospitable. He explained that we got a discount in the cafe and that we could use the indoor and outdoor seating even after the cafe had closed. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning was great, and after a really fun day in Cold Spring we had a fantastic nights sleep. We would definitely recommend. read more

Great location. Our room was nice, had AC and a good size bathroom that was clean. The room was also clean, pillows and sheets were also comfortable. There was a hairdryer, soaps and shampoo/conditioner. The complimentary bottles of water were nice as well as the various snacks that were available. I am a former travel journalist. Slept in a lot of places. I would not recommend this hotel - ever. The room was not clean enough, the sheets and bedding third rate, you are asked to check out by 10am, if you want the owner to watch your bags while you walk around town, he charges an extra $20, since there is no luggage room and to add insult to injury, I had bug bites all up and down my leg when I woke up. This is not a real hotel but an owner's fantasy that it is a hotel. I did not eat the food in the cafe so I can't comment. I couldn't wait to leave. Only one night. Thank god. read more

This place is not really a b&b as there is no breakfast or kitchen even. Instead there is a table in the hall with a bunch of snacks on it like chips, fruit and muffins. There's also some refrigerated juices and waters. So the name is pretty misleading. The room was clean but very small with just the bed fitting and a dresser with a TV and a chair. Very bare bones. Nothing hanging on the walls to decorate. The bed was large but the mattress was really hard. There's also no mini fridge or closet in the room. There's no coffee maker. Came to cold spring on the train for a weekend away with my boyfriend. Stopped at the silver spoon for lunch when the server told us about their new bed and breakfast. We went to see it and the owner, Jimmy, have is an amazing deal on our room! Breakfast at the restaurant was included, and it was amazing! Digital TV, free WiFi, right in town and close to the train. Not to mention the free buffet of snacks and drinks in the lobby! We already planned another weekend back, highly recommended as a place to stay and eat! read more

We stayed in this property in July, 2019. In spite of its name, it was not serving any breakfast. In fact, it wasn't even serving coffee or tea in the room or hallway. It advertises "Free Parking", but has none. You find your own parking space somewhere in the street (which is not a big deal during off hours, but can become a big deal during busy times of the week). Construction work noises begin at 8AM. And while construction work is ongoing, the roof leaks water into Room #1, and water faucets in Room #3 don't function. It's not really a B&B in layout, charm, decor, or amenities (e.g. no staff on premises to greet you or orient you to the town). It's really a small Main Street hotel with a set of small rooms (nicely remodeled) above the ground floor. This might be a good option for someone staying in Cold Spring, but beware of situation. read more

The place is centrally located right in the heart of Cold Spring, an easy stroll to shops and the water, as well as the Metro North train station. The restaurant downstairs is also great for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and as guests we got free breakfast and a discount on other meals. Our room was quiet, nicely appointment with a new, clean bathroom and comfy bed, plus free cable and wifi. Highly recommend this if you are planning a trip to the beautiful Hudson Valley.
