I have to say, my experience today at Serenity Holistic Healing was a real gift. I met with Dr. Lilly and I could not have come away more pleased. I have had 3 weeks of really severe pain in my right hand due to lifting something and injuring the nerve. Nothing I've done has helped, including medication for pain. Dr. Lilly listened, asked the right questions and diagnosed my issue. She treated me with 3 different approaches which lessened my pain by the time I got home. I can't believe it's taken me so long to post this review! I went to see Annie at Serenity when I was pregnant last year -- and getting really desperate to not be pregnant. At 42 weeks, I was ready to try anything, even though I had never had acupuncture before. My midwife recommended it, and a lot of acquaintances had recommended Serenity in particular. Two key points: 1. It does not hurt. In fact, laying in the quite, calming room was so relaxing I think I might have drifted off to sleep. I barely felt the needles and there was no pain. 2. I went into labor 24 hours after the treatment. I'm not saying it was because of the acupuncture but ... try it. At the very least, you will get much-deserved rest and relaxation, similar to a massage. (Note that 2-3 treatments are the standard, however.) I've heard excellent reviews about their other services as well, and can say first-hand that the space and Annie are amazing! read more

I am a pretty "western" person as far as medicine goes. My father was a doctor and my husband works for a medical school. I approached Serenity Acupuncture with a lot of curiosity and a certain amount of skepticism. But today I became a believer. I had an annoying pain in my shoulder that did not seem to be getting any better. I thought of this place, which just opened in my neighborhood and thought, "what the heck?" Serenity certainly lives up to its name -- it's calm and soothing, with candles, new-age music, Asian-style doors, the whole bit. Owner Patricia Miller was my acupuncturist. She was very gentle and explained everything in detail, even letting me view and hold one of the needles. Surprisingly, she put the needles in my left knee even though the pain was in my right shoulder. Don't ask me why, but it worked. There was still a little discomfort, so she needled me in the shoulder for a little while after that. When I left, the pain was 90 percent gone. Go figure. As a newbie to the scene, I really can't compare Serenity to any other acupuncture experience, but in all I found the experience very pleasant and I was impressed at how clean and sanitary everything was. I also learned that acupuncture is very successful with people experiencing infertility. Even though my ovaries are retired, I found that fascinating. read more

I go to Tricia for acupuncture/cupping and also see Tai for massages. Both women are miracle workers. By far the best acupuncturist and masseuse I have EVER been too. Both women love their jobs and are talented and it shows! Tricia is a healer in every sense of the word and is one of the kindest most genuine people you will ever meet. I've seen Tricia for a number of ailments including stress, PMS, back pain, headaches to supporting my pregnancy and ensuring a healthy delivery. Tricia has healed me in ways I didn't even imagine. When I start to get frazzled even my husband says I need to get in and see Tricia ASAP. I feel better the minute I step in the door. She has a great staff too. Tai gives amazing massages. I had a sharp pain in my shoulder which kept me from lifting my son. I saw my OB who prescribed a physical therapist. I went to see Tai to see if she could at least provide some temporary relief until my physical therapy appointment. Well, low and behold my pain was completely gone after my massage with Tai. I saw Annie, the owner, for Acupuncture during the end of my 2nd pregnancy- which gave me great comfort and relief. Then during my labor she was my doula and used acupuncture (and some acupressure) to help move things along and relieve pain naturally. It was amazing!! I started going regularly to see Patricia at Serenity Acupuncture after nearly three years of seeing a fertility specialist, and trying everything from Clomid, to IUI, to two failed IVF retrievals and one transfer, all resulting in negative pregnancy tests and one miscarriage. Up til that point, I had thought only briefly about acupuncture, but after a friend finally delivered healthy twin babies through IVF while also undergoing acupuncture, I decided l had nothing to lose. Tricia was incredible right from the beginning, she is not just an acupuncturist, she is supportive, understanding, and basically just provided a level of comfort that I really needed at that time, something you can't get just from your nurses or books. My results this time for my 3rd IVF were better than any of the past attempts and my doctor even noted this, as I was using the exact same medication - the only difference was acupuncture. And the best news of all was that this time I did get pregant! I continued to see Tricia throughout the 1st 12 weeks of my pregnancy and am now happily in my 2nd trimester and enjoying every minute of what so far has been a very smooth and relatively easy pregnancy. We are expecting our first baby later this year and I'm so grateful to be in this position, and for everything that I feel Tricia has done to support us in this journey. I don't understand how acupuncture works, but I don't care. I'm a believer. I came to Annie with a variety of physical issues -- mostly minor but uncomfortable -- and I noticed a big difference from the first treatment. I was a bit nervous about the needles at first, but they are so thin I barely felt them. I now find the treatments very relaxing. I have been dealing with sacral/coccyx pain for about 18 months. The pain was so bad, I couldn't sleep on my back or sit straight in a chair. After several visits to my primary care physician because of the pain, and her unable to resolve it, she referred me to Tricia at Serenity Acupuncture. I'm a manly man and was a little concerned about having needles stuck into my butt, but at this point (no pun intended) I was open to just about anything that might help me. Upon entering the front door, I was greeted with a warm, peaceful, relaxing environment. To be honest, I felt better just walking in the door. Tricia is very calming and took the time to get to know me and about me and my ailment before planning any treatment. After completing a thorough exam, we agreed that acupuncture was a viable option for me.
