That was humiliating and invalidating. He compared my experiences to other clients that he had. For example when I tried to talk a bout my anxiety issues he would tell me a story about another client who had anxiety and what it was about and how he helped her. Great. Except her anxieties were not the same as my anxieties. Anxiety isn't just the same across the board. People experience anxiety for many many different reasons. I could have overlooked that except he told me the story of this client like 4 or 5 times as if it was the very first time I was hearing it and again it had nothing to do with my personal experience. I could not listen to this man tell me that story one more time in an attempt to pretend he understood what I was talking about. Very nice guy overall but just wow.

It was very chaotic and overwhelming and I also felt somewhat scared not for help but because of some of the girls. I felt they wanted chaos and drama. It felt more like a mental institution. Or jail house. There was some really lovely girls who did want the help. There were just so many things that happened in 4 days that made me feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable. Yes I know it's uncomfortable at start but this was different. I also wanted to see the doctor to help me with stretch I can do for a possible pinched nerve. I felt ignored or maybe they thought I just wanted drugs. Btw I am an alcoholic also have trouble taking pills from ptsd. I don't take Tylenol unless I'm really hurting. To me this is one of the most important things that you could find in a physical therapy facility. The Facility: M & M is the perfect size. It's not too small but it's not too big. I never feel forgotten and I am never left in the room waiting. Staff members are always checking in on me and if they're not in the room with me they are an earshot away. They have all the state of the art equipment for physical therapy along with an in-house gym. It is clean inside, always smells good and always is the perfect temperature. It is very homey and inviting. Again, something that's very important to me in a physical therapy facility. Availability and accessibility: M & M Is great at working with you and your schedule. They have late hours on Mondays and Wednesdays for those who work during the day. They also have early morning hours available. Parking is never an issue and the location is easily accessible. Two doctors examined my open wound each week, cleaning and evaluated the progress. The packing and dressing was replaced each day by the Nurse on duty. The Certified Nurse Aids are highly trained and dedicated to the best standards of care. In my snapshot in time the food was excellent. For most of my stay I went to the lunch room for lunch and diner in my wheelchair. The service was excellent with rotating Aids doing the serving. A Nurse would observe each meal watching at risk patients for choaking. During a Spring Cold outbreak I took my meals in my room until it passed and I was healthy. I enjoyed the Activity of BINGO in the Lunch Room. It was always a packed house. Twice when I attended Bingo they had a question and answer before bingo where the Diatition and Head Cook took questions from the Residents. I was impressed with the questions and the Menu result the following week. I found the Ellen Memorial Facebook page and all the activity event pictures.
