Yesterday was our first visit to Serenity pet spa. I did some research to find a place that would be willing to work with my skittish 63 lb pointer mix Mia. We rescued her a year and a half ago and she shows signs of previous abuse so she is not super sure of strangers and other dogs. She also HATES her front paws being touched, after a failed attempt at pet smart I contacted our local vet which prescribed medicine for before our visit and they where only able to get 2 nails clipped. The vet said we would have to just do sedation to do nail care. The vet was charging me over $100 to sedate her and cut her nails, I asked about dremeling and they told me they didn't do that. So her nails were still jagged and cracked and honestly didn't look great, also each time she was taking more and more time to recover. She is young, only 4 years old, and I know how hard sedation can be on people and animals and with her responses I knew this was not something we could keep doing. I found serenity while browsing online and their rehabilitation program sounded awesome. I send a message via their website and got a response in a few hrs! Jackie talked with me for around 20 mins explaining the process and learning about Mia, I took her in on Friday so they could get to know one another and to my surprise Jackie was able to trim ALL of her nails!!!! We are going back on Wednesday to keep up the positive momentum and to try and get her used to the dremel. Just after one visit I'm already impressed, I'm looking forward to Mia and Jackie making great strides to be able to keep Mia looking and feeling her best. I found Serenity Pet Spa on yelp courtesy of the high reviews. Which they definitely deserve. I have a 12 year old Shih Tzu who is my entire world. Jackie is our groomer she always takes her time with my dog and makes sure she is comfortable and always recommends bows that they make in the store that are always gorgeous. They let the dogs hang out with each other while they are waiting to be groomed and I love that because it allows for good socialization which they need to have. They are always watching the dogs so nothing happens and if there are dogs that don't like to be around the other dogs they have set aside a separate area for them so everyone is comfortable. The pricing is extremely fair for what they do. Definitely get your money's worth. Money very well spent. I know my dog is well taken care of and she absolutely loves coming here which is exactly what it should be like. Absolutely wonderful business. And when covid happened they handled that amazing. They had Facebook videos to help people groom their dogs and they got everyone back in in a timely manner that was safe for everyone. I absolutely love this business. I realize this review is praising them a lot so I feel the need to point out that I'm not a friend of any of them I don't have any relation to them at all and no reason to write this review other than I finally have the time to write it and they deserve everything I'm writing and more. I recently had a deeply upsetting experience at Serenity Pet Spa in Madison, WI, with our 7-month-old Toy Poodle, Finn. What I witnessed during Finn's haircut was so concerning that I felt compelled to enter the store and demand that the groomer, Andrea, stop grooming him and return him to us immediately. Andrea's handling of Finn involved what I believe was an unnecessary amount of force to correct his behavior during the grooming session. It was distressing to witness, and I could not allow it to continue. Adding to the issue, during both instances where I saw Finn trying to get away, a very large dog was also attempting to approach him. While the other dog did not appear aggressive, Finn is still not fully confident around other dogs. This likely added to his stress during the grooming and may explain why he was acting out. I also have video footage from my Tesla's dash cam that captured part of the incident. The clips clearly show the excessive force used on Finn, and I would be happy to share them with management if they would like to evaluate the behavior of their staff. This experience has left us extremely shaken, and we no longer trust Serenity Pet Spa to care for Finn. I hope this review helps other pet owners make informed decisions about where they take their pets for grooming. read more

First and foremost finding any groomer right now is insanity, so the fact that they not only had openings they have extended their hours to allow for more appointments. They got our Havanese an appointment super fast. Once we were there, they followed some extremely quality safety measures to keep us, our pet, and their staff safe. Normally my dog stresses out when we aren't in sight but they were so kind and calm that he didn't have any issues with us not being around during his nail trim. They got his nails cut back and smoothed down in a swift manner and we were out of there within about 15 min total. They were so great and we love that they are located on both sides of the city. We sent both of our corgis for a general cleanup since they are both blowing their coats for the season. One of our boys is a fluff which presents some specific grooming challenges. Both of them look GREAT. Our fluffy boy has no more mats, his tail and skirt are nicely trimmed and his little feet are the cleanest and best groomed I've ever seen. He looks like a pup again. Our older boy has a standard coat but it has become harder to brush him as he gets older and more arthritic. He also looks perfect. You wouldn't be able to guess his age unless you see the grey in his face. His coat is spotless, undercoat is completely under control and his feet are the best they've looked in his almost 13 years. Lis is an extremely knowledgable groomer who lives and breathes her work in so many positive ways. She is also willing to teach clients important information about their dogs specific grooming needs or special fur and skin issues. I have a rough coat Collie with a beautiful but heavy coat- a former show dog- now working as a therapy dog, and a young dog who also lives to run and play and get dirty/ full of twigs and sticks and so on. Lis has been wonderful about helping us to adapt from his show coat to a "working dog" coat, maintaining his beauty but also his "pet- ability". She is also extremely flexible with scheduling when our therapy work requires that we change spa dates and times. read more

I was not sure what I expected since I had been going to the same groomer for over 25 years. But a sudden retirement left me researching options. But at the end of the day, I was so surprised and very pleased! My shelties look stunningly gorgeous! I appreciate the fact that Serenity (Lis, the owner) did her best to accommodate my motley crew fairly quickly given the bottleneck due to covid. She and her groomers know their breeds and excel at helping them look their best. The prices were reasonable and the pick up and drop off was easy. With two dogs, that matters to me, being a bit of a nervous pack leader. My dogs look, feel, and smell great and enjoyed their spa day! I'll be back!! read more

The best groomers EVER!!! I have two Shih Tzu's that I love dearly. I hate taking them to the groomers. I thought I'd check out another groo.er as the last one butchered my oldest dogs ears...no blood, just a mess. These ladies are absolutely the best. I brought the boys in and one of the groomers was grooming a Shih Tzu and doing a beautiful job. My dogs were climatized to the environment before getting their baths and cuts. When I came back to pick them up I was absolutely thrilled. I am very picky and have tried many groomers and hands down the absolute BEST. please do not hesitate to bring your pets to these wonderful ladies. Awesome! I have tried most of the commercial chain groomers, and always been disappointed. Most small business groomers charge and arm and a leg for a full groom of my little schnauzer, with few benefits. Serenity pet spa has both extraordinary trained groomers AND great pricing, so mom is happy. My dog hated going to the groomer or vet before I found Serenity, and now this is her favorite place because she gets a low-stress groom and play time with other dogs! They watch all the animals so well and usually have no more than 2 dogs per human present, which is ideal since they allow the dogs to socialize in pens rather than keeping them crated in the back. I took my puppy there for his first groomer visit. The owner was very welcoming and knew exactly how to handle my dog so that he was disciplined yet comfortable. I love that there was the option of not crating my puppy while he waited to be picked up so he could socialize with the other sweet dogs there. My dog is a doodle and I was worried about having him groomed and come back to a dog that looks totally different. That was not the case with Serenity! He looked totally adorable, fluffy, clean and happy. She knew exactly how to shape him and had good advice on how to keep up with grooming him at home between his appointments. We love Serenity Pet Spa! We have a ~6 month old Goldendoodle and he loves getting groomed. We have been bringing him to Serenity since he was 12 weeks old. I love that they offer puppy trims to get them used to the groomer. The best part, aside from the groom, is that they do not crate the dogs during their grooms. Ruther loves to be able to play with the other dogs while he's there. He comes home from the groomer EXHAUSTED from all of the playing. Makes for one happy doodle and happy doodle parents. Our two Great Pyrenees look like they could walk into a conformation ring after spending time at Serenity Spa! They are livestock guardian dogs and very serious about patrolling our property and protecting our other animals from Coyotes. We are so impressed with the ladies at Serenity Spa taking the time and care to bring both dogs coats back to the correct state for their breed. Serenity Pet Spa is amazing. The staff are so welcoming and friendly and our dog looks and smells wonderful. Our dog has always disliked the groomers and been stressed when I've picked him up, which is why I put off grooming for so long. Not anymore! When I picked him us from Serenity Pet Spa he was happy and in a great mood! The staff did an amazing job grooming some long matted areas and making our dog beautiful. Such a great experience. I have had a couple of not-so-great experiences other places, so happy that I have found Serenity Pet Spa. It's cage free, so all the dogs get to just run around together...great for socialization. My Shih Tzu has a lot of anxiety with grooming, and she seemed happy as can be when I picked her up. Jackie did a wonderful job on the grooming as well...very evenly cut all over, and great length. Price is very comparable to what I was paying at my previous place. I have an extremely difficult to groom Collie. We have been turned down by other groomers until I found Lis. Now we get stopped on the street complimenting my beautiful boy. She also has helped me with products at home to keep him looking his best between appointments. I am truly amazed by her work. Lis is worth the drive for her experience with dogs. We have a little Norwich Terrier who requires hand striping. We have been taking our Cricket to Lis for the last three years after having lost our previous groomer to a relocation. What a great move that was for us!! Given how difficult it is to find a groomer who does hand-stripping, we were very fortunate to find Lis. Lis relates well to our dog, and gets the grooming done very well, despite dealing with a quite ornery and elder dog. Lis does a great job and we highly recommend her to anyone. read more

I am so thankful to have found Serenity! My little mixed breed used to spend hours in a cage at his former grooming place and frequently came home with small injuries. No wonder he shivered and shook whenever the car took him in that direction! Now he's happy to go to the groomer, where he is well treated and enjoys hanging out with the other dogs, and he comes home looking and feeling his best. SERENITY east side is really great. My Morkie, Jordee-Nelson-Novick looks great, and loved playing with little dogs her own size while waiting for pick-up. I'm a summer visitor now, but my former groomer who groomed my dog and cats for 20 years said she was too busy to take on a new Client. NEW client?!!! After I paid her top dollar for 20 years? SERENITY got my dog in within 2 days of my call. I'd highly recommend their east side spa. Every bit as good as their west side location. read more

Our dogs have been regular clients for a couple of years and we are always happy with the results. Though our shih-tzus aren't excited to be groomed (not fans of water/baths), they are always excited to see their groomer. We love that our pups aren't kept in kennels while at the salon and they always come home smelling and looking great. We have owned shih-tzus in the past and have lived with them in 5 different states, using groomers in each state. Serenity Pet Spa is by far the best! read more
