My father was a Vietnam Veteran and needed a place to stay after having some financial difficulties and becoming homeless, he found Serenity Veterans Village and lived there for several months at The Palmer and Waxahachie locations. The owner Lauren is a truly amazing person and has a heart of gold for dealing with all the issues that can come from a down and out Veteran...she deserves a medal for what she has to deal with! Unfortunately my father has since passed, but she always kept me informed of his situation since I do not live local and helped arrange me to collect all of his things and went out of her way to accommodate our schedule while we were in the area. read more

Serenity Veterans Village, Inc. Is a Texas Non-profit recognized by the IRS as a 501(c ) (3) We build and provide Transitional Housing for homeless Veterans in Texas.

History

Established in 2019.

In 2017 we built our first Transitional house to help our brothers and sisters who were not as lucky as we were. 3 bedroom 568 sq ft. Full bath/kitchen living room. We purchased more property to help even more veterans. We filed for and recieved our 501c(3) in 2019. We are currently gathering funds to build 3 more homes for (9) veterans.

Veteran of Iraq OIF, I got quite lucky when I returned - some of the soldiers I knew did not. I promised myself in 2010 that if I were ever in the position to help, no excuses I would. With a successful small business and a few years passing I have made good on the promise I made myself, and now I want to expand this to a national level
