I met with Martha and discussed what I wanted and my problem areas. As I asked, she stayed within my pain range; only going beyond to work out any referred pain areas. I am not someone who gets a massage for the relaxation benefits you might get from a Swedish massage, for example. I strictly use massage for pain management, soft tissue therapy, and trigger point therapy. Often the massage itself is uncomfortable but the end results are worth it. Martha is very skilled at finding and releasing trigger points, particularly in the neck and occipital range. I like her very much as a person; she is calm and conscientious, and this translates through in the therapy she provides. I cannot remember the name of the other girl I went to when Martha was out of town, but she also did a good job...I'm pretty confident all of the therapists at TMAWH are excellent. HUGE bonus points that they are open seven days a week! It's usually pretty easy to get an appointment (although securing a same-day appointment is rare unless there is a cancellation). The location is good, easy to find, ample parking, and the little office itself is exactly as a massage place should be: low lighting, clean, quiet, and peaceful.

Today I got a gel manicure and a green tea pedicure ($65)... my bill was a few dollars over $100, plus I tipped $20. Rachel did my nails today and she did an outstanding job! My gel Polish is perfectly & thinly brushed on my finger nails. My toes feel and look happy. My pedicure included a foot massage and callous removal, I received a nice back & shoulder massage after my finger nails were done. The salon is clean, bright and cheerful. They line the pedicure sinks which I've grown to love (just guarantees that your water will be sanitary), they sanitize the tools. Also super nice was the music they played inside the salon. The instructors are prepared, informative, and ready to modify sequences if students arrive with injuries. Students are encouraged to go to their "edge" and try poses, albeit listening to sensations within the body is also important to prevent injuries. After the 75 minute class relaxation is the sensation students feel. Then the teachers are available to answer questions or concerns. Vinyasa, Trauma, Yin/Yang, Gentle, Restorative, Meditation, Workshops, and Kid and Family classes are all available. I recommend this gem of a studio in the center of Simsbury. Pat
