Mis-diagnosed car problem. Needed a simple adjustment on Clutch Pedal under the dashboard. I had done that myself a few years ago but not physically able to now. They were able to find the parts and get it done the same day and in a friendly professional manner. They also did take the car to get the alignment as well since that was required for the work. I have a fairly new vehicle (2 years old) and had been told by the auto dealer and another local mechanic shop that I needed new brakes and were charging me well over $800. My husband and I have been taking our cars to Serge's Automotive for decades. I wouldn't even entertain the thought of going somewhere else. They are honest, give great service, fast service, and are just nice. They will never try to sell a service or parts that you don't need. For instance, if you think you need new brakes and you don't, they will tell you that you have so and so many miles still on them before you need to buy new ones. Same with tires. 1996 Pontiac Trans Am needed radiator replaced which was done. However; that work resulted in other problems that are associated and unrelated. 1- The associated problem was the coolant level was not filled correctly as we had to add coolant on two occasions to finally bring it up to correct level whereby the LOW COOLANT warning stopped coming on. 2- The car also popped Mass Air Flow sensor [MAFS] code. The car had trouble starting at cold start which was never there before. Upon inspecting the MAFS we noticed a 3/8 inch dent on the perimeter rim of the sensor. The rim is aluminum. Certainly it had been dropped and as a result the delicate internals of the sensor were damaged. This was proven to be the case as replacing the MAFS solved the cold start problem and cleared the Check Engine Light and code. The removal of MAFS is necessary to the radiator replacement which they performed. To recap, the car went in for radiator replacement but came out with a damaged MAFS [$115 to replace with new which we did ourselves] Low coolant which we had to correct [this they should have assured themselves when replacing the radiator] Lastly, Serge was frantic when calling us to come and pick up the car. Tersely saying the coolant temp gauge is erratic [was not the case] and that we must come and pick up the car right away. Pretty bizarre. read more

He told me don't worry come by and we will take care of it for you and they were only a few blocks away from home. I arrived Serge came out made sure I was taken care of. The team came out fixed my tire and I was in and out in less than 20 mins. I was sooooooo happy! I had so many things to do and I was afraid this would set me back. I've been walking by this place for years and never thought to take my 1968 mustang to them. My brake booster needed replacing and I gave them a new brake booster I ordered from a reputable mustang supplier to install. Serge's mechanics quickly found that there were minor differences in the new booster and urged me to have them rebuild the unit already in my car. The old booster looked awful but after the rebuild it looked amazing. The mechanics at Serge's are very experienced and I trusted them and they did not disappoint. The car stops on a dime with almost no effort at all. I have a list of trusted places that specialize in certain areas (engine, transmission, alignment etc.). I will need to add Serge's Automotive to my list. Great work for a fair price...not many places like this around. These are very nice people who do excellent work. read more

By far the worst shop I have been to. Shop destroyed my new off-road wheels for my truck. I had repeatedly said "if the tires can't be balanced with weights on the inside of the wheels don't do it". Appears to be a huge language barrier because I was assured," no problem no problem buddy". Sure enough come to pick up my truck and see all four of my wheels have been destroyed. Technicians are cursing in Armenian basically saying "F this he doesn't know what he's talking about". Only reason I brought the truck here was to replace a fuel line hose that broke ( one single piece of hose that cost me $480 ). They would not refund me for the damages. So now I have paid 480 and have to buy new wheels $700. Almost a $1200 mistake and a whole lot of wasted time because I made the decision to have this shop replace a $10 fuel hose. Oh and one of my weights fell off the wheel and I swear to gawd they said," it's ok you won't feel". Avoid this place like the plague and unfortunately stereotypes were on full display. read more

I am amazed that there are negative reviews here. My car was leaking oil, and the place that I go for oil changes told me there is no problem. They tightened the oil filter cap. It continued to leak, even worse. I finally brought it here, and behold, the oil was leaking from a warped washer (because the gas cap had been overtightened by the last place to change my oil. (Go figure)). Mr. Serge only charged me $30. I know nothing about cars and it would have been so easy to rip me off and say it was a $500 repair, and I would have had to pay. My grandfather was a mechanic for decades after immigrating here from Iran in the 70's, and he always told me that if somebody was in need, he would only charge them enough to pay his workers. I was very happy to see that Mr. Serge is doing business without tricking, lying, or scamming customers! Only going to be bringing my car here from now on. Thank you and God bless!!! read more

Went in to Serge's to get a clutch replaced on my 2009 Nissan Versa. Got it back. Runs great. Service and price was great. Then I got a check in the mail as a partial refund and a note explaining they had overcharged me. What?!! Who does that today?!! Folks, I can NOT recommend a better auto repair service in this area. Took my vehicle in and told the owner what I suspected the problem to be. He said he did an inspection and the vehicle needed it's motor rebuilt for $2500-3500. And he didn't want to do the work. So I bought a new motor for $5,000 because I've had bad experiences with rebuilt engines. The shop that's doing the motor install opened up the old motor serg deemed bad and it turns out what I originally suspected the problem to be WAS THE PROBLEM!! A $400 fix from any other competent mechanic! I wasted $4600 on the word of this shop. Simply because he was lazy with his diagnostic that I was happy to pay top dollar for. This is not the first time I've been rinsed by these guys- this happened once before to a lesser degree years ago. Fool me once.... read more
