Had a great experience with Kyle on Saturday evening! I am from out of town and was stranded at the gas station. Kyle came walking out and came over with a smile, wearing his dirty Sergio's Automotive shirt, like he just got off work. I explained my problem to him and without hesitating, he opened my hood and took a look. It took him about 5 mins to see I had a lose battery cable, which he fixed! I have a 1975 Corvette that has been serviced by two prior specialty mechanics for vintage cars in the area, with thousands paid - and still, my car would leave me stranded most times. I went to a car show at the Tennis Garden in La Quinta and asked around to other vintage car owners who they trusted and they ALL said Sergio's Automotive. I made an appointment and they figured out that the new alternator was too weak to recharge my battery. They added a better alternator (chrome and pretty by the way) and a kill switch on my battery so that when it is parked for a longer period, the battery would not be drained. It has been life changing for me! I have owned this car or 5 years and have driven it a handful of times because of this problem. I am at last now feeling secure to drive my car without fear of having to call AAA. They had driven my car more than me! Josh is a super great guy to work with and I cannot thank him enough for his expertise. He has two 1970's Corvettes so I knew I was in good hands. Overall pleased with service, however it took 5 days to replace two belts, belt tensioner. I gave Sergio some new front R and L turn signal housings to replace and they could not get the left turn bulb to operate. I went to Autozone, bought a new bulb socket, and when I went to install it noticed the old socket was not seated properly in the housing. Their technician left it loose. I installed the socket I bought and it works fine. They did a chassis lube and oil change as well. read more

I have a 2006 Nissan Sentra and I knew it needed work that was not going to be inexpensive but I could not afford to buy even a used car and have monthly payments. I had it checked by a different mechanic but they have changed hands and decided to take it to Sergio's which not only has an excellent reputation and is very close to where I live. I am VERY glad I had them do the work and they found things that the other mechanic had missed. They gave me a ride home and kept in touch with me to let me know what they found and of course the cost. I am VERY pleased with all the work they did and believe me it was a lot. Since I live in the Palm Springs, CA area the desert heat is very hard on cars. The price I paid for everything was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Sergio's for any work your car may need. The employees are very nice! I am a senior which is also why I decided to fix my car! NO car payments for me! Who knows I might expire before I paid all the car payments! My truck's fuel pump went bad and broke down as I was driving. I was thankfully able to coast down to Sergio's shop (albeit on the street. Bottom line: Excellent response, communication, service, courtesy, honesty and value for my money, I found my auto mechanic in Sergio and his talented mechanics and helpful office staff. I called after checking out Yelp reviews and talking with neighbors who swear by Sergio Automotive . My problem seemed to be a faulty A/C " actuator door" causing cold AC on one side any hot air on the other. Bottom line: they tested and determined low Freeon. But we only have one car. Inconvenient? BriAnna in the office offered to give me a ride locally. naturally I chose the nearby casino . When the car was ready Martha , from the office , Sergio's wife, picked me up in her car! I got to learn how they founded the family business abd how they now service fleets of business vehicles like Spectrum, local TV stations, major hotel hospitality vans etc and certainly every day cars like mine. Terrible service and follow-up. Made several calls. Made several calls follow up work and questions. The office kept putting me off after several calls for a follow-up appointment the ladies in the office provided no help and told me they would call me back and I could make a appt to return for service but it never happened. Of all the places we have taken cars over the years, this small shop is without a doubt the best. I trust them completely to make honest and effective repairs. We've had our 2003 Lexus in twice for major repairs and each time every thing was repaired leaving our car in new condition. A little background so you can understand just how good these five stars are... I am spoiled. I grew up with a family mechanic. My dad treated our vehicles like they were my siblings. He took great care in selecting our mechanic and, when he did, his loyalty was immense. As such, I grew up with a very discerning eye toward mechanics. I found Sergio's when I needed to get new rear tires put on. I ordered the tires online and had them delivered to where I was staying. Sergio's put them on and disposed of my old tires for $15. Price = wow. I called them today. I needed a check up before I drove to Tahoe. They would check my fluids and tire pressure for free. Love that... I drive a BMW Z3. Many small shops don't do them. Sergio's does. Not only that, they did a complete safety check. They checked tires, checked and filled fluids, checked belts and hoses, did synthetic oil, oil filter and air filter for less than $80. Anyone who has a Beamer will tell you, oil changes alone aren't cheap. Sergio's even has the BMW tools on hand to reset my service light. Waiting was pleasant. I chatted with the mechanics about where the great Mexican food places are. The wait was a little less than an hour. They keep water for customers and there is a little vending machine with M&Ms, Peanuts, Skittles and Boston Baked Beans. Although they weren't making popcorn at the time, there is also a popcorn machine. Long story short, this spoiled girl with a family mechanic is happy with Sergio's. Daddy would be proud. read more

I have been to Sergios 2 times, and both times recd good service, however, on 4-19-16 I called at 7:30am and left detailed msg re my battery and oil cg. i requested a return call ASAp and left my name and number. NO RESPONSE On 4-23-16 at 8:15am I tried again (after purchasing a new battery at Sams Club) explaining no one called me back on the previous msg. I again asked to schedule an oil change and left name and number. At this writing 4-25-16 I STILL HAVE NOT recd a call back!! This is frustrating and unprofessional. I purchased a car from Palm Springs Ford a few years ago and had nothing but problems on it. And after taking it to their shop multiple times for the same problem , I was always told that it was something simple and it was fixed ,and sure enough it kept happening and they always gave me a new story every time I took it in. Then lo and behold my warranty ended and the problem happened again and suddenly they said that it was going to be thousands of dollars to fix. I took it into Sergio's and they immediately found the problem and they said it was obviously been happening for a long time and the turbo was leaking and needs to be replaced which I could've had it done under warranty if the mechanics at the Palm Springs Ford would've done their job and actually looked for the problem which at this point I think they knew what it was and they just didn't want to do that big of a repair for free. I was able to get The new turbo installed for a fraction of the price and in a very reasonable time frame. It's comforting to know that there's still honest hard-working people in this world that take pride in their work and do a good job. read more

Horrible. They took out my radiator and said they ordered a different one and the actual is worth twice more expensive !! And said they couldn't put the old one back!!! Then they've asked about 200-300$ for the work they have done!! The work lol I refused to pay for it. I asked if they could fix my stucking hood 3 times and they never gave me any estimate just ignored my questions (once she actually said I'm going to go ask my manager like fixing hood is the managers thing ). And guess what they broke down my hood completely so now I can't fully close it. They did close it somehow when I was taking back my car but it popped up the first time I tried to open it. In other repair shop they told me that my hood must've been adjusted. I have a BMW 3-Series. I do think mechanic's hands of that shop coming from his ass so save your time and money. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I had a pretty disappointing experience here.. I felt like I was getting a great deal and totally got ripped off. I had an SUV which needed a new transmission, so I searched for a nearest auto shop from my house, which led me to here. I drive my car everyday to school and work, so I needed this to be as hassle-free as possible. So this was it. They offered me to fix it in a couple of days for a little over $1000. (and it had a 3 month warranty........,,, lol) It was fixed just like they promised, and I was a happy camper. And 5 months later the transmission that they had installed started to malfunction on the 10 freeway in the desert.. There was smoke coming out so I decided to get it towed back to Sergio's Automotive. They refused to take a look at my car, and they were going to charge me extra just to find out what was going on with my car. wtf? Is that how you treat a customer that paid $1000 in cash for a repair? I felt absolutely no sympathy from them and I hate mechanics even more now because of them. Super ghetto. read more

I never post reviews, but this time I am making a special effort to do the right thing and tell you that I just had the best experience in getting an oil change I have ever had. Sound funny? No, you all know what a hassle it can be. I called Sergio's (after calling a few other places who said they were too busy to talk to me about prices and I would have to call back) and asked if I could come in and get an oil change. They suggested a later time in the day, but I asked if I could come in right away. They said yes. They also gave me a quote over the phone. I got there in 15 minutes and they took my car in right away. They changed the oil and filter, did all the other normal checks, said there were no other items needed and they didn't try to sell me anything. They did what I asked them to do. The price was less than quoted and I was in and out of there in 30 minutes! Great job and I thank them now for their great service and friendly staff. I will definitely go back for any future needs. I took my car to Sergio's Automotive yesterday and was told over the phone that diagnostic test would be $47 and when I got my bill it was $95 just to place one little useless tool in my water coolant to check the pressure.and check engine light code cleared and showed up again as soon as i left the garage. He told me that if the check engine pops up again to bring it back that he would re set it free of charge and when I called today to tell him that the check engine light is on again his response was ...Bring the car back and there will be charge again. Scamm. Never go there again. Beware of 5 stars rating ...probably his friends.and hang ons. read more
