We hired Mike and his team to build a retaining wall, and it's been nothing short of a nightmare…read more The original bid started at $15,500, but quickly escalated--first to $18,500, then $20,500, and finally $26,500. Despite these increases, Mike continually pushed for us to pay more and more before claiming the project was completed, which still isn't true. From day one, things went wrong. Upon arrival, Mike's crew lost control of their tractor, which rolled off their trailer, hit another contractor's trailer, and then rolled into a different contractor's truck. To make things worse, Mike is now ghosting these contractors, leaving them high and dry because, as it turns out, he didn't have insurance. As for the wall itself--it's poorly built and already failing. It isn't level, and we can already see signs that it won't hold up. We were supposed to get a small additional retaining wall for our AC unit as part of the bid, but the quality of Mike's work was so bad we had to tell him to leave. Overall, this was a disastrous experience. Mike's poor craftsmanship, lack of insurance, and unprofessionalism have been a huge and costly disappointment. Buyer beware--do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
