Overall, I'm generally pleased with the work that they've done - their plumbing work has been good, their inspections are sound, and they did great putting in my new furnace. What I am not pleased about, however, is the fact that as of this Tuesday, I will have had them in for a grand total of three times within a week. Okay, we had a team of BRSE folks here until midnight last night installing a new furnace for us. This team works so hard, and they are all super nice folks! Jose, Khalil, Josh, and team were so helpful in making sure we are ready for this "arctic blast" that is about to sweep through. Originally this summer, our AC was broke. While no other company said they would be able to get out to our house to look at the unit anytime soon, BRSE sent Jose the same day so I didn't melt to death in a puddle of sweat. From then on, we went with BRSE for our HVAC. Yes, it is true that it is unpredictable for when they will be able to arrive at your house (it was consistently a few hours early for us), but it is hard to predict your schedule when you don't know what types of issues you might run into. read more

OK, I was searching for an HVAC service company a few months ago and researched these guys. Glad I didn't select them! Just encountered one of their drivers on Kessler Boulevard West on 6/19 around 3 PM (tag # 168DCU window # 24720, greasy looking white guy with faint facial hair and mirror shades) cutting people off and tailgating when he saw me taking a picture he got all pissed off and rolled down his window while we were stopped and started yelling at me to and pointing to the side of his car indicating go ahead cll them. Like they wouldn't care anyway. If that is their underlying attitude toward customers, I can't imagine how terrible their service is. Seems like a company to avoid. read more

I just had the best service from Keith and Winston. Both were professional, personable and respectful. They presented every option to me, didn't try to upswell me anything and allowed me to take my time. While it's true things cost a lot, their advantage program is going to help me in the long run. Plus I can cancel at any time. These two were very upfront and honest! UPDATE: I had to replace my furnace and the two other gentlemen who showed up had masks, but then took them off. I was not comfortable asking them to put them back on in case they'd do a less than stellar job. I will be contacting the company directly about these two. I had a very old HVAC system. AC broke Saturday evening. I was able to use their website to schedule a service appointment Monday morning. The technicians arrived on time, and diagnosed my AC unit. They gave me 3 options...repair AC, replace just AC, or AC & Furnace replace costs. Due to the age of my system knew I was on borrowed time for the last few years. I choose AC and Furnace replacement. They started the install the same day. They could not finish, but stayed until 9:30pm without any comment from me so I could go to sleep with AC! They finished the install early the next day. I used this company twice previously for service on my HVAC. All techs were very knowledgeable and not trying to upsell. I recommend them for your HVAC service needs. read more

First off, their technicians are extremely professional and knowledgeable. They explained everything clearly and I enjoyed talking with them. The only issue is this company's pricing. They charge nearly $200 just to diagnose while every other competitor we met with charged half of that or $0. Yes, they apply this as credit to your order if you chose to go with them, but it felt like a cheap tactic to lock in costumers and prevent them from getting other quotes. Lastly, their quote was significantly higher than every other competitor we spoke with. I'm sure they would do an excellent job, but you're going to be overpaying with these guys. read more

I have been using this company for years and, until recently, have had great service. I still believe their technicians are well trained (which is why they get 2 stars), but their entire focus has shifted to marketing and sales. Reading some of these more recent reviews, I see my experience is not unique. In one call, they railroaded me into their annual service program in addition to paying for an AC service separate (for reasons no one could adequately explain). Also, I received a "follow-up survey" which was actually just a scam to confirm my contact information. Seriously, not one question was asked about the service call. I tried to follow up with them online and was routed to a national website. This is a disturbing trend and, absent a complete change in customer service, I will be looking for a new vendor. read more

Do NOT use this company or get fooled by its other reviews. They didn't show up to the appointment within the 2 hour window. I called and they said their techs were busy. Excuse me, perhaps you should schedule it better so that your tech is not 2 hours late. I told them to still come as we'll be waiting. By the 4th hour, no one came. Called them again and was told that someone went and left since we were not home. We didn't hear any knocking! And we didn't get a call someone was even there. Most importantly, because they told us they were on the way, we kept waiting. We waited 4 hours! Extremely unprofessional. I question the validity of all its previous reviews when they can't even show up on time or bothered to keep us updated. We went with a different HVAC company that was way better and professional. On December 23, 2022, the temperature in our condo dropped to 63° although my thermostat was set on 75°. I called Broadripple Heating and Cooling. They determined that we needed insulation in our attic. Today, January 6, 2023 three representatives, Clarence, David, and Evan came and installed the insulation. They did a great job. My house is good and warm. They went beyond the call of duty and repaired and rebuilt items on the furnace that I didn't even know needed repairing. They were very professional, polite, and efficient. I highly recommend Clarence, David, and Evan. They are a great team. They didn't charge us for the extra repairs. I scheduled an appointment for today between 2-4:00 pm to get my semi-annual maintenance done of my A/C system. The service technician, Ethan Saghir was prompt; however, I accidentally took my dog during my scheduled appointment time. When I returned home, I immediately called him back. He offered to check in with the office to see if schedule allowed him to come back. Within an hour, he was at my house. Not only did he take the time to perform maintenance services, he took the time to show me (again) how to change my furnace filter and the most energy efficient settings on my thermostat. Beware of the "advantage" Program. You will be on the hook for the whole amount in a lump sum if you EVER decide to move within the contract period. They try to tell you that they will work with the incoming owners to set up a new contract with them and it'll be an easy transition, BUT if the buyers don't want to participate in the program you will be required to pay for the whole thing that you won't even be using. read more

Two represenatives from Broadripple Service Experts came out because I called due to my AC not working. They checked my system for over 40 mins and came back with , my compress was shot and the freon used in my AC was not up to code, so there was nothing they could do but sell me a new system. The price for the cheaper system was $13K and the second option was $21K. $21K? Really?This company is a RIP OFF!! I called Williams Comfort and Air, for a 2nd opinion, and was showed 4 options and none of them was even close to $21K! After their inspection, they found nothing wrong with my compressor or the freon. To accommodate me until my new system was installed,, WC&A put on a new dual compassiter and my house was freezing in minutes! A big thanks to Kyle! I replaced my heating and Air system 4 years ago and had nothing but issues with my cooling system from the 1st summer on keeping up. 1st summer they came out and added freon and I was back in service. Then comes summer 2 not cooling again . Then told we had a leak and quoted close to 7 hundred bucks because it was out of warranty. I argued with the manager Justin for several days and he finally agreed to pay half . This unit continues to be a piece of crap ! My folks have continued to use this company and they recently replaced his system with my telling the sales person I thought they were crooks and questioning my elderly father as to why he was dealing with them . She said she'd look into my issues . Well my dad bought a 20 grand package. I honestly think they pray upon the elderly. In 2016 I was going through a massive and nasty divorce when my heat pump quit. Called these people during a bitter winter night. Tech claimed a coolant line broke and evacuated all of the coolant. Fixed the line and said it would be better to get a new furnace. I declined and he wanted some $2100 to refill the 4 ton unit. I mention the divorce because anyone who has gone through one knows your mind is not in the right place and if not careful you make rash and poor decisions. I allowed the repair knowing something was wrong and the guy talked me into one of their service plans. Spring 2017 came and had guy out to check unit over. Guy changed my filter and hosed down the condenser outside. Wtf? A month later the condensation line clogged and started to flood. Had he opened the air exchange box and checked it would have been caught. As fall of 2017 approached I called to schedule another check on my service plan. I complained to the rep of the worthless spring check and was told the fall checks are more thorough and they are sending their best. Dude comes out and I tell him the filter was changed recently so don't bother. He goes outside then comes inside asking me to look at the heat pump. The unit is running but rhe fan isn't. I tell him I hope it is the capacitor. He comes inside and tells me it is not the capacitor then launches into the new HVAC spiel and tries to identify with me by saying since he's Black (and I am too) he'd never try to rip me off. I decline. He tells me the model plate on the unit is so sun faded he won't be able to find the right fan. I tell him I will take fan out and to Graingers for a replacement and do it myself. He says he will talk to his supervisor and get back with me the next day. I didn't bother and the next day I replaced the fan myself. Since then I've had my HVAC replaced because the emergency heating elements broke down. Told the tech my story of the $2100 and he assured me I got ripped off and I agree. Even in 2016 R2 refrigerant wasn't trading that high. Oh well. Broadripple got over on me in more ways than one but never again. read more

Broad Ripple heating and cooling was called by my warranty company to fix my a.c. unit. When the technical called me he began by telling me how had and bad my unit was and what parts needed to be replaced. He then began to tell me that I needed to replace a lot of parts that would be my cost. I ask him about the warranted repair and he said they would only pay for a few things. When I ask If the things they paid for would fix my unit he said yes but it wouldn't last long. Long story short is the unit is working. Not a good look for the company read more

I have been a happy customer for decades. They always call when they are 10 minutes away, and the technicians are polite, friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I have used the budget plan and found it a great savings. Recommend looking into that. Have had very satisfactory communications with top administrators, both now and in the past. Last week, Cody came over to educate me when my semi-annual inspection yielded a furnace that has lived out its natural life. Cody was fantastic - really knew his stuff, compared and contrasted different models, left paperwork I could understand, and wanted me to be informed and satisfied with the information he gave me. We've been using Service Experts Broadripple for over 15 years. Never had a problem with them until now. I'm wondering if they are under new ownership or management. Their customer service is horrible now. Our brand new thermostat stopped working yesterday (which we purchased from them). It's been over 13 hours since I first called and they still aren't here. I've called several times. The standard answers customer service gives us are "we'll put you on our priority list" and "you're on our a-list". The last time I called they put me on hold and after waiting about 10 minutes, they hung up on me. We have a maintenance contract with them and have had one for over 15 years. It's rare for me to post a 1-star review. I try to keep in mind that everyone is entitled to an "off-day", but this is a different story. We called Broad Ripple Service Experts initially for some work on our furnace. We were up-sold on a ultraviolet purifier, which the technician proceeded to install incorrectly. We had to call them back and have it removed. The second technician was professional and apologetic, prompting us to give them another chance when we thought we had a leak in our crawl space. The plumber came and told us that it must be an animal issue, so we called an exterminator who went into the crawl space and came out with pics of a huge leak that BRSE missed. The manager for BRSE came up and offered to make good on the miss and promised to send out his best plumber. The plumber did the job quickly and showed me pics of the completed work. The manager said if we needed any other service we could contact him directly, so when we needed a toilet replaced he sent a guy out to take care of us. The installation took a long time and just days after we saw water in the ceiling under the bathroom. We then decided to contact a different plumber who proceeded to show us the 3 things the BRSE plumber did incorrectly. We also had to call a dry wall contractor to repair our ceiling. We will not use BRSE again. 3-strikes is too much. read more

Unfortunately, I can't provide any actual input on the quality of service offered by this company because I was never able to get any service. I contacted this company to get a quote on installing air-conditioning in a very large warehouse. This would have easily been a $30,000 or higher job. The technician was prompt and came out to survey the warehouse for a quote very quickly, and seemed friendly and professional. Here is why I'm leaving a one star review. After the technician (Avery) came out to see the warehouse, I was promised a quote by the next day. 2 days pass, no quote. So I call Avery and ask him to please send it as I'd like to get the project started. This story repeats 3 times over the next 2 weeks, with me being told each time that I would get the quote that day. So, I was promised a quote the same or next day on 4 occasions. Today I was told by Avery that they couldn't help me with the project because they were too busy. Honestly, I doubt this was even true and suspect that the tech just tried to to get rid of me because he had already messed up so many times. I'm not really upset if they couldn't get to me because they were so busy, I am upset that I was strung along and treated with so little respect. If it is true that they could not take on this huge project and take tens of thousands of dollars of my money in doing so, all he needed to do was tell me before I had to wait for weeks that I could have spent pursuing another company. I was ready to give this company my business based on a reference from my commercial realtor, but I obviously won't be at this point, and my realtor said he won't be giving this company any more references at this point either. read more

In the last 12 months, they have almost blown up my house, flooded my laundry room, wanted to dig up my patio, failed at fixing anything they tried, and after refunding of my annual maintenance fee, have now sent a debt collector for said refunded money. I can't make this up. I was going to let it go, because everyone has a bad day (or year) and they had given me the refund. But then I got the debt collection letter. This company is absolutely HORRIBLE! I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. We got our new air conditioner put in a little over a year ago, we were suppose to also receive a new thermostat, which we paid for, and they never put it in. We have made several calls to get this corrected and they have yet to do so. A few months ago the opportunity to renew our warranty came up, I called and made the payment to renew the warranty and a month later receive a final notice to renew the warranty. Though the payment was made the renewal was never done. This company is terrible and will take your money with no show. read more

I hired Broad Ripple Service Experts (BRSE) to insulate my attic which they did just fine. The service advisor told me during the initial meeting that I qualify for a rebate from my local power company (IPL) for insulating my attic. He told me that BRSE will need to file the paperwork with IPL. After the insulation was complete (and pictures were taken by the contractors to prove that the work was performed), BRSE does not return my calls. Neither voicemails left on the cell phone of the service advisor nor the person responsible for the paperwork is getting back to me despite leaving messages for him. I called IPL and asked them if I can file the paperwork myself and they told me that it needs to be done through the contractor. On my contract, they even mention the qualifying rebates. read more

I called Broad Ripple Heating to do a simple repair on a water heater. Not only did they never repair the water heater, but they seemed very unfamiliar with Rheem tankless water heaters, even though they're advertised on their own website. So they never fixed anything, but they still charged me $500. They left me with NO hot water for over a week and didn't understand why I complained. Then, after a week of having no hot water, they rudely asked me why I went with someone else to actually get the repairs made. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

I called them at 9:00 PM about getting an emergency plumber to my home. The customer service rep assured me that it could be done and they would get me on the schedule for the on-call plumber. I was told to call back within an hour if I hadn't heard anything. I called back an hour and fifteen minutes later (so about 10:15) as I was instructed since I hadn't heard anything and I was told that I was still on the schedule and that they couldn't give me any updates as to when the plumber would be by -- he would call me when I was on my way. I said okay and went about waiting. At 12:45AM I called again just to make sure everything was okay since I hadn't heard anything and it was going on four hours from when I made the initial call and I was again told that they could not give me any information as to when the plumber would be there but that he would call. at 3:00AM I called again because this seemed like an abnormally long wait time (going on six hours after what was supposed to be an emergency call) and the lady on the phone said that for whatever reason the tech/plumber would not be coming to be but they could schedule me something for the morning. I asked why I hadn't been contacted -- as it was 3:00am and I have been sitting up waiting for a plumber that has not come. She had no information for me as to why I wasn't going to get a technician/plumber. Zero. This was an awful experience. I would have been okay with getting a phone call that said they wouldn't be able to make it out. I'd be understanding if I was told that a large job that had come in before me was blocking off the plumbers time or something like that -- but I got zero contact and had I not called back I would have never known. I will not be using this company again. 9-16. I was contacted by the owner of the company who apologized profusely for my experience and offered to make good. My initial rating was one star and I have upped it to two stars because of him personally reaching out to me to apologize as well as offering me service in the future to make up for the events. read more

I used the online booking tool to book an appointment about a week or so out. I never receive a call or anything and my appointment time had passed. I wrote the company asking if it was some kind of lottery to get an appointment or not. I got a call back from them and the lady said to never use the online booking tool and to only call for an appointment. She also stated that the service people had tried calling me and left a note on my front door. I was home the whole time, no note on the door, no missed phone call, no message. I can only assume that this company has no clue what it's doing and does not need my money. I booked with another company that showed up on time and had no problem calling me. With this time of year you wouldn't think there would be much deceptive selling out here. Well, there is... my mother who is a young 87 paid $13,000 for a replacement heating/air system for her 1500s/ft condo. What a surprise at breakfast yesterday morning when my mom said she could have bought a car with what she paid for, her new furnace system. With that statement my wife and I knew something didn't sound right. I always try to respect my Mom's wishes but this elderly scam had to be shared so in hopes to avoid another person's loved one from making a bad decision despite being advised by the so called experts. Advise everyone you care about to always get (3) quotes for any large purchases. There are several good and reputable service people and businesses. But, the bad ones do a great job of befriending the elderly and take their money. I know we all have heard this before but hey, here it is again please watch out for scams and deceptions especially when it's involving the elderly. I spoke to the GM/Jim at Broadripple Service Experts this morning who told me my mom came in all excited and heard the (3) options given of the Lennox High Efficiency Systems. The last one which I was told she signed and paid for was $13,000. They never mentioned that she could have used a standard efficiency unit and been fine for her very small condo. My mom is a good natured, happy elderly lady that see's only the good in people. Yes, she should have gotten (3) quotes or asked for guidance but she didn't. Heck, even her friend Marshall told her to get a 2nd opinion. My mom sure doesn't like to hear my advice even thou I'm only trying to watch out for her best interest. I know my mom was upsold and I totally understand a business making an honest profit. But, this was a simple case of a business taking advantage of an elderly person with no knowledge of heating & air conditioners. It was Broadripple Service Experts to be that expert and do the right thing and give my mother honest choices. The last thing I asked Jim was what would you do if it was your Mom? All she needed was a good standard efficiency unit for her small condo not the best of the best. Nothing, then Jim's only comment after I said several expletives was " we only sell Lennox's best". Lennox owns Broadripple Service Experts. Broadripple Service Experts recorded my conversation so hopefully Lennox's corporate gets the message. If anything comes of this post it's letting you all know to please watch out for your Mom & Dad and any person that might fall victim of unfair and deceptive business practices. read more

Poor service and discrepancies between what their own technicians tell you. They performed an extensive repair and cleaning and never even replaced the filthy filter. My tenant's heat subsequently went out completely a month later and had them back out. The new technician who didn't realize that they had serviced the unit a month prior told me that part of the problem was that the coil was completely encased in dirt and wasn't getting enough air flow because the filter looked as if it hadn't been changed for a long time. I proceeded to tell him that his company serviced the unit a month or so prior. He was astounded that the filter wasn't changed and agreed it contributed to the current problem. Granted, it turned out that there were other issues as well (which were never mentioned during the 1st visit) and I wound up needing to replace the furnace altogether (I used another vendor). The experience cost me hundreds of unnecessarily spent dollars and days of disruption and no heat for my tenant. Frankly, I don't trust their work or integrity. After this experience, I am quite sure all the negative reviews contributed to their new name change (from Broad Ripple Heat and Air). Bottom line, you can't escape Yelp! Now I'm off to leaving a positive review for the company who did the furnace replacement. They were fantastic, and coincidentally have great reviews.... read more

I had requested a free second opinion about my gas furnace. This company promptly sent out Keith, the service technician, who I found to be very thorough in trying to find out the cause of my heat exchanger rusting at certain locations. After an extensive investigation, Keith came to the conclusion that the replacement of the heat exchanger was not yet needed. This was quite a different conclusion than the one reached by a technician from a different HVAC company who had condemned the furnace and said the heat exchanger was unsafe to operate. Keith was knowledgeable, thorough, honest and easy going. He took the time to explain what he did. I felt I was being taken care of and would definitely call this company again to request Keith. read more
