It went awful. I had 4 inches of water in my basement but the 2 guys who showed up (in a beat-up ServiceMaster van) never did anything. They went downstairs, looked at the water, then spent an hour on the phone trying to find out the cost. After an hour, they told me it would be $3,500. I politely declined. I bought a pump for $108 and removed the water myself. Then, this week ServiceMaster by Ayotte sent me a bill for $332.72. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! read more

DO NOT use this service. I had a contact with them. They did not show up and when they did they did a horrible job. Totally undependable and truly poor service. When I inured as to when I would see a janitor they cancelled my service with no notice. Horrible, horrible business, from the Owners to the employees. DO NOT USE!!!!! read more

We were pre move in to a house we bought and asked for them to clean the carpets and kitchen, bathroom and one small room in the basement. Two people who did not speak English or understand my questions did the rooms for four hours. In that time they cleaned one small bathroom 4 light fixtures/fans and behind a refrigerator. The carpet cleaning was fresh smelling but that was about it for $500.00. Definitely never again, they were chosen for their reputation of quality work at a fair price, definitely not quality or fair. read more

We hired SM to do a restorative clean on an apartment unit. They ran out of cleaning chemical, spent less than 8 hours cleaning, missed the fridge, light fixtures, said they did in the closets and never did. We had to go back and clean it again after they left. We thought we would try them again a year later so we called for a carpet cleaning quote. Same lady I may add who cleaned the apartment unit. She left a message saying she miss quoted the carpet cleaning and took three days to get us a quote. They lost our business. read more

First of all, I feel like the person I spoke to on the phone was very kind and informative and I would rate their customer service 5 stars. All the employees who came to my house were very kind and friendly. However the actual quality of the work was so terrible I cannot recommend this company to anyone. I had called about 3 weeks in advance to make an appointment to have our duct work cleaned, our carpets cleaned, and a whole house cleaning. We had just purchased a home and wanted to have all these things done before we moved in. The appointments were made with no problems seemingly. The day before we were scheduled to have our duct work cleaned we were told that there was no serviceman scheduled to do our duct work. One would think that calling 3 weeks in advance would allow a company to properly schedule staff to meet their commitments, but I guess not in their case. Because we needed to have the work done before we moved in we were left scrambling to find a replacement company with only 2 days notice. The next day the house cleaners arrived to clean. Because the house was completely empty and we were busy with work we did not stay to supervise the cleaning. Explicit instructions were given and the head cleaner and I walked around the house discussing the different work I needed done. Because the house was empty this was very basic stuff like wiping down cupboards and appliances, dusting surfaces, cleaning windows and baseboards and things like that. We were told that the carpets would be vacuumed the following day when the carpets were going to be washed and we were ok with that. When I inspected the house that next day I was very disappointed. Even though I had specifically asked to have the tops of the 3 ceiling fans dusted, only one was done. Tops of appliances were not cleaned even though they were specifically mentioned. There was dirt and dust bunnies on our hardwood floors, and honestly it just didn't look like they did much of anything. Drawers still had dirt and hair (ewww) in them. They dumped a dirty mop bucket down our laundry sink but then didn't rinse it out and we were left with a pile of dirt and hair in our sink. I could list about a hundred other examples of their cleaning incompetence but its too depressing how much money I wasted. Absolutely NOT worth the $300+ it cost. There is no reason to hire "professional" cleaners unless they are going to do a better job (or at least as good) as I would do myself. This was a sloppy incomplete job and I was beyond disappointed. This was supposed to be a special treat to myself to have a wonderful clean house to move into. (I never hire house cleaners) I should have just done the work myself. My mother taught me well how to keep a clean house and even as a child I could have done better than this company. The next day the carpet cleaners arrived and the gentleman was very polite and kind. He provided me a quote after measuring and I felt the prices were fair. I was told that their carpet washing machine was a dual vaccuum/washer and that all the cat hair (from previous house owners) would come up with the cleaning. Honestly it is hard to say whether the cleaning did anything at all, because there was hair and dust bunnies all over the place, especially on the stairs that I had specifically paid extra to have done. I own a consumer level carpet washer that would do a better job IMO, but I was hoping to save myself some time and energy during a very busy moving week. The only good thing that came out of this is that we now have a relationship with a great duct cleaning/furnace company. The other company that we had to scramble to find turned out to be super top-notch. So although the ServiceMaster employees were all very friendly and kind, I cannot recommend them based on the terrible results that I experienced. I had water damage with significant black mold. I had Service Master come to give an estimate for cost for repair. I then had a competitor give an estimate. Service Master was 3x as expensive for the same job. We went with the competition and were satisfied. read more
