The name suggested to me they were locally owned and likely community driven. The reviews must have been well before the company had a MASSIVE fall off. One could deliver a epic How To Guide of 'how not to run a business and treat customers' based on this operation. Once they have their equipment in your home, you are essentially held hostage to their missed timelines, purposeful off peak scheduling, and poor guidance. I worked with the GM Brian first, who assigned a Project Manager. Brian made many confident assurances when we first met, from timeline, to budget, to his guarantee of the professionals he assigned to my family home. The expected 3-4 day process lasted 9 days. They purposely mislead us and delivered recommendations that are not best practices because they are understaffed and managing too many projects. Our PM would miss appointments through the day to arrive after hours and weekends to charge premium rates for a higher rate of pay. I confided in Brian that the person made us uncomfortable, diliberately gave me the oppositive instructions, would lie to his superiors about decisions we were making, and we often could tell he was working under the influence. As I was assured by Brian over and over to his trust in this incredible talent, I found out the company let him go (via the owner) directly following because of multiple claims to the same context. After 9 days of complete disorganization, no transparency, and trying to get this process done, they picked up their equipment and were gone. I lifted my own carpet, cut out drywall, removed insulation, and supplemented air movers because we were constantly being pushed off due to other projects. Meanwhile, they delivered invoicing charging for additional days and after hours work because of their staffing limitations. After they picked up their equipment, they went into complete ghost mode. I attempted texting and calling Brian 25 plus times to get a review of pricing, next steps, and any other details. Heignored each one. 45 days after their catastrophe was complete, they sent a massively inflated bill that was 3x higher than we were advised. It charged for all the deliberate aspects they forced upon us - after hours work, phone calls (!), equipment we did not have, and even charged us for the additional days their negligence created. I spoke with Diane, their office manager, who is a saint of a human. She is literally the person they should use as the cornerstone of how they operate. Diane directed me to the owner, told me he wanted to correct the issues and make everything right. After the owner finally called me back it became clear, very quickly, the issues start with him. He had zero intention of solving the long list of indescrepencies (many more than I am sharing here), was argumenative, and even confided he was facing similar issues with these employees. He asked me what I thought was fair. I increased the budget we discussed with them by $500, asked him to take off diliberate and false charges from my invoice, and offered a fair settlement. That wasn't good enough. He reimbursed some of the fake charges, but at a rate that was lower than they were charged and attempted to enforce the inflated invoice with one day to pay. They disappeared for nearly two months and decided to provide one day to pay a completely fabricated, bloated amount. The circumstances with which you will need these services is already very stressful, so I suggest finding an honest, fair, and reliable partner. This is not that partner. The company must have fallen off massively from their peak. I can imagine worse execution. The owner is nearly absent and seeks to maximize profits. They have the wrong people in roles where honesty, character, and customer service are critical. Choose anyone else.

Okay, I waited a while to write my review so I could see how the overall job bettered my home. I…read morehad my 102 year old 2 story home completely resided with Vinyl siding. Fist, this was no small project. The owner and project manager at times could be a little slow with responding to calls/text, but were very respectful when the did return my call. Siding is no easy task as you have to account for weather, but they cannot work during rain. So the project got started a couple of weeks late, but that worked out okay for me. It was 2020 and I wasn't going anywhere fast. The crew that worked on my home were timely and professional. If they couldn't answer a question, I would contact the owner Traci directly and he would give me an answer. They warned me that there could be serious problems that could add to the time of the project completion and cost. Well, we had issues, but they were brought to my attention and documented in writing along with pictures. Lets just say, I want the siding to be done right and look great so we had a few others concerns fixed by cervices as well (wood, window trims). The project took around 5-6 weeks, but it was well worth it. All new siding and after this past winter with snow, rain, and everything, it seems to be doing just fine. A few places in our cellar are now dried up where some water got in before. People comment on how great it looks. We had all new gutters and downspouts installed as well, which drain perfectly. On a side note we asked the crew to throw up a new light fixture and mailbox when they took down the old and they did so. Until there was an opportunity for me to have an independent, reputable roofer give an objective evaluation, at no charge whatsoever, including photos and a full report of damage, I was not aware nor would it have been possible for me to be aware of the extensive, permanent damage you have inflicted upon my home. There is no mold anywhere in the world which is capable of causing huge gaps in flashing on a roof. Multiple large gaps in the flashing on the roof your crew installed here are the result SOLELY of bad workmanship. "Mold" does not cause huge gaps in flashing, leaving wide open holes through which rainwater, melted ice, melted snow are entering the ceiling structures. None of this has anything to do with "mold." The ceiling located directly below the wide open gaps in flashing is water-damaged. A 10-year-old child can understand that the roof is leaking, thanks to wide open holes that were created, by horribly bad workmanship, when the flashing was installed. Look at those photos and tell me where you see "mold!" Blaming your negligence and horrible workmanship on "mold" is beneath you, in terms of an excuse that even a child would be fooled into accepting. So you're saying that "mold" caused the bad workmanship, as displayed in some 27 photos we have. --No! Not even close. "Tree damage" did not cause a drip edge to be incorrectly installed. All of this is at the doorstep of BAD WORKMANSHIP AND DENIAL -- REFUSAL TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. If the roof does not need box vents, why did you personally write into the contract that "box vents" are to be included, with this roof installation?! Shingles are wavy, damaged, uneven, haphazardly installed, and yet this is merely the tip of the iceberg. I guess we can blame "mold" for all of this as well, right? And let's blame "mold" for the fact that roofing cement has been smeared all over electrical conduit, causing permanent damage! YOU WERE INDEED CONTACTED MULTIPLE TIMES, as soon as I discovered the damage you've made to my home. I texted and you did not respond. I emailed multiple times and you did not respond. I filed grievances with Better Business Bureau and with Consumer Protection and you did not respond to them, either. You were asked to respond over and over and over again, before my attorney contacted you.  As soon as you were aware I have these photos, you refused to respond. If there were damaged structures interfering with the roof installation, this should have been noted in writing, including photos, and I should have been informed. But I was never so informed.  Any former leaking was to be definitively resolved with installation of a new roof by Empire Home Improvement.  Instead of work completed in an workmanlike manner, you have left HUGE OPEN GAPS in flashing, in multiple places across my roof.  Rain, melted snow, melted ice are pouring into the ceiling structures. Water-damaged ceiling is directly below HUGE OPEN GAPS in the flashing --- horrible and indeed negligent workmanship by Empire Home Improvement. This has absolutely and literally NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH "MOLD" OR WITH ANYTHING BUT YOUR LAUGHABLY BAD WORKMANSHIP!! You are a thoroughly dishonest person, who does not stand by the quality of his workmanship whatsoever. If you had, then you would recognize the DAMAGE caused by your crew. Electrical conduit has been smeared and covered and damaged by roof cement -- more horrible work by your crew. That incorrectly installed drip edge is not the fault of anything but your bad workmanship. Shingles are wavy, uneven, and generally installed in a totally INCOMPETENT, NEGLIGENT MANNER.  I am owed a new roof PLUS the cost for repairing extensive purposeful DAMAGE to my home, caused by Empire Home Improvement.  We have the required proof and this will not be the forum.

He showed up the day the insurance estimator came to do their estimate, he spoke with him and walked with him through the process making sure he considered everything listed on damage Empires damage report. he brought out several options for roof color as well as gutters. He started within 2 weeks of the insurance approval etc. I was very happy to see that he had his crew fix a facia at the peak of my house that was NOT damaged by hail but was in rough shape. He also had them replace screens on 2 windows that were old and in rough shape but was not damaged by the hail. I appreciated those things being replaced and he did that on his own to make them look nice. Greg always responded very fast when I would text or call with questions, his communication was very good throughout the entire process.

Date: 07.16.2023 Payment: $7,200…read moreService: Replace Roof Nature of Dispute: I, owner of house, hired DAR Construction as general contractor for home renovation. DAR Construction LLC hired roofer to install new roof and was incompetent in supervision and quality control of work. I advised DAR Construction to ensure all bad wood was replaced and to make sure roof was satisfactory before final payment was made to subcontractor. They stated roof looked great and they were thoroughly satisfied. I looked at roof myself after DAR had already made payment to subcontractor, and informed them that the roof was unacceptable in multiple areas and was very disappointed. DAR Construction LLC stated the roofing contractor came back out to house to fix roof, but after I went back to review work completed the roof was still in the exact same condition as was originally after they replaced. After continually requesting needed action to take place, was told I could meet with subcontractor. Asked what time I could meet with them and was never received any response. At this time, I have no faith in DAR Construction or VIP Roofing and Remodeling LLC to replace roof in satisfactory condition. I am requesting a full refund of $7,200 given to DAR Construction for roof replacement. My request for refund of roof payment from DAR Construction is a reflection of their poor performance and management of roofing subcontractor (VIP Roofing and Remodeling LLC) under their supervision. Failure to correct issues of poor work performed: o Uneven roof structure o Dipping in multiple areas o Overall unsatisfactory quality of craftsmanship o Lack of Communication o Failure to follow through and execute requested re-work I am completely dissatisfied with the result of the poor performance and management of DAR Construction LLC and that of their business associates have exhibited.
