One morning, we woke up to find water all over our first floor. In a panic, we searched online for help at 7 a.m., and Servpro came up. We called right away, and they were at our house within the hour. We had already sent them photos showing that water was covering the first floor and flowing into the basement. Servpro arrived quickly, brought in all kinds of equipment--humidifiers, fans, and more--and immediately began tearing out damaged drywall to stop the spread of water and mold. At the time, we were insured through USAA, and unfortunately, working with them was frustrating and difficult. But Servpro was excellent. They handled everything efficiently and stayed on top of the situation to make sure the damage didn't get worse. Once the water issue was resolved, we were able to bring in a construction company to remodel the affected areas. Servpro's quick response and professionalism made a stressful situation much more manageable. I sincerely hope we never deal with another leak--but if we do, Servpro will be our first call. read more

I wish I could give the business zero stars. Or negative stars. We live in an old house. I noticed mold in the basement. Called an independent contracter to examine the problem, he reffered me to ServPro. I wish he hadn't. A job that was supposed to take 3 days took over 3 weeks and only finally ended after I just told ServPro to call it a day. They could not find the source of the water leak, which I understand is not their job to do, but they tore apart basement walls without covering any of my personal propery, including a book collection, oriental rugs, and an infant/toddler mattress. They sealed off the room and told us not to go in because of mold/dust issues, so I did not know of their shoddy attention to detail until I went into the basement weeks after they started to try to figure out what was going on. They called more than once to tell me that they couldn't come to work on our current job because they had new jobs open up. When I called the owner, Connie, about this, she yelled to her employee (without putting me on mute/hold), "Did you tell her that we couldn't come today because of other jobs?! Why did you tell her that?!" The only other time I talked to Connie was when she called me to ask for payment. Payment that was due at the end of the job. I paid them for what they had done and, since then, Connie has not called me back and, when I called this morning to discuss some sort of compensation for the damages the company did, I was told: A. "She doesn't think she should handle this sort of call." and then B. "She's not available." My basement is still torn up, still not rid of the mold, but I can promise that I will call another company to finish the job the ServPro crappily started once my reliable and helpful contractor (who told me that ServPro was "chasing water drops") fixes the water leak. Do NOT use this company. If you do, don't plan on talking to the owner. She's unavailable unless she wants your money. Then, she all sorts of time on her hands. The only redeeming quality of my experience was Melody, who tried to coordinate as best she could given Connie's apparent lack of managerial skills. read more

We had over $8K worth of damage to our upstairs bathroom that caused damage in both bedrooms on either side of it. ServPro had to replace carpeting, tile floors, paint...they did it all. They were so friendly and did a great job. It's been three or four years since then. We have another issue now, so I intend to call ServPro again. read more

Did not complete job. Did not do what they were hired to do. House was still filthy and only partially done. I would NOT and will not ever hire them and will not recommend them to anyone. read more

SERVPRO of South Dayton sent an incompetent, poorly equipped crew to clean up glass shards resulting from a tree limb that burst through our living room window in November 2018. Glass was scattered throughout three areas of the house. They were unable to clean up the glass. We are still finding shards after several weeks. They were here for approximately 45 minutes. Production Manager promised that he would send out another crew with appropriate equipment, which did not happen. SERVPRO sent an invoice for $574.10 and has not responded to our repeated requests to talk to an owner or manager. Use SERVPRO at your own risk. Incompetent, unskilled and no sense of customer service. read more

I would highly recommend Armando and the rest of the crew at SERVPRO South Dayton. Armando arrived during the time period promised and was very thorough in his explanation and made sure I was very clear on the work that was to be performed. He presented the options available and did not pressure us into any decision. The work was performed as promised and the results were as expected. Again, I would highly recommend this team. We had an abundance of water in our basement due to recent rains. It was suggested by the insurance company we use Servpro. Despite better reviews from other companies we called Servpro, thinking it would be easier. When we called Servpro on a Sunday, they came out in a timely manner. The water was extracted from the carpeted area and fans were set up. 3 days later Matt came to check on the process. When I asked if he was taking the fans he advised " his peons" would be picking them up at a later date (3 days later).Then I asked him how much it was going to cost and he only stated "cheaper than the insurance deductible", since we decided to self pay. I also asked him when the carpet would be cleaned and he stated someone would contact us as it would be a 3rd party. No one ever contacted us. When we received the $2400 bill, I was shocked to say the least. They did not complete the job. The carpet was never cleaned and there were never any chemicals put down. The invoice states that they charged us for chemicals in a carpeted bedroom and we don't even have carpet in that room. I had to schedule and pay my own carpet cleaning crew to finish what should have been done by Servpro. In addition the website shows the people coming to house professionally dressed in Servpro uniforms, that was definitely not the case with this crew. My husband has tried several times to contact the GM and Owner by phone, text, and e-mail. No response. To sum it up, the lack of professionalism, communication, and common courtesy is why I would never again use this company nor, would I ever recommend to anybody. read more

I experienced a water damage from a failed fish tank in October of 2015. I called ServPro after a quick Google search and they had someone out that afternoon to assess damages and begin the clean up process. The carpet had to be pulled from one room and some drywall had to be removed and replaced in the basement. I was steered towards using Servpro to manage the entire project through a contractor of their suggestion. The drywall replacement happened within a week, but after 4 weeks no one had shown up to replace the carpet. I called only to find out that no one at ServPro bothered to follow up and ensure that the contractor had done their jobs in replacing the carpet. I finally decided to call another company to replace the carpet. Their initial bills included charges for carpet replacement, which they did not do. After communicating with ServPro, they took those charges off but did not offer any appoligies or concessions for the lack of follow up on the project management piece. I would reccommend ServPro for clean up work in the future, but I would not reccomend you ever use them for any of the restoration. Get your own contractors to do that work so you have a better chance of getting the work done in a timely manner. read more

ZERO stars is more like it. These guys are clowns. I would not recommend them at all. My sewer line backed up mid-June and while they did come out quickly, it was all down hill from there. I was leaving out of town for three days the day it backed up, they came out that evening and went through things with me. I told them to CALL ME if they had any questions about anything. Needless to say I never heard from them and when I came home a lot more of my house was torn out than they had previously said and charged me $5,830 to tear out my laminate floor, tile bathroom floor and one foot of drywall, and put dryers all over to dry it out. Here's the real catch - the guy owns both Servpro AND Possert Construction (who was going to do the construction to put it back together). They obviously tore out more than they needed to (and did a crappy job at that) so they could charge more ($23,000 !!!!!) to put it back together. I have called three times and asked someone else to come out and look at the work they did and to provide me with a copy of the contract they signed (they did not do so initially) and I have yet to hear back from them.
