Unresponsive Staff/Documentation Not Trustworthy: I got several estimates for water remediation and was set to select ServPro of Birmingham to perform the work needed. However, the company's business office sent me a contract to sign that was missing information because some of the criteria hadn't been filled in. I emailed the representative (her email was "@servprooftuscaloosa.com") to request that the document be filled in, but she did not respond. Then ServPro's dropbox service emailed me the same, unfilled, document two additional times (spam). I really wanted to work with ServPro; their technician seemed knowledgeable and professional. But I will not be able to because their business office is unresponsive. read more

Absolutely the worst service / customer service imaginable. We had a leak from our faucet. Had a decent amount of water damage. Servpro came out and pulled sink, dishwasher, cabinet, etc. We are now on the 3rd month of not having a sink or dishwasher in our kitchen. Come to find out the estimate mis quoted. So, now we have to wait on additional funds from insurance to order a cabinet. We had no idea Servpro subcontracted these jobs out. We would have already had this fixed with a contractor we know. This has been a horrible experiance and they do NOT deserve your business. read more

A project to restore a deck and den from a fire has taken 9 1/2 months of agitation and frustration. There were no experts on the job or supervisors. Owners had to constantly go behind workers to correct mistakes. This job should have taken 3 months maximum. Managers came out but situation stayed the same. Poor quality work and coverups. Worst experience we have ever had in dealing with a business. Workers did not work half the time, stayed in their cars or sat around. Packing crew was wonderful but steer clear of using Servepro for reconstruction. Do not pay them till they finish the job or it will never get done. So ready to be done with them. I contracted with Servpro to remove water from my basement. Their representative gave me a quote and I paid 1/2 of the free at that time. The workers arrived 4 or so hours later with equipment was did not work properly and the removal ran into the evening. They left at 8:00pm with a pump in the basement to suck the water out. When I went downstairs at 5:00AM the drain line had not been secured and the water was recirculating in the basement. After phone calls and texts, Servpro did not show up. My sump pump provider removed the water. Servpro's representative agreed that the service had not been appropriate and agreed to the amount I had already paid. After many conversations and threats by Servpro, they sent the amount their representative agreed that I did not have to pay to a collection agency. I was told the representative did not have the authority to negotiate an adjustment. Buyer beware, I would use the company. read more

Run far away from this company! Unless you want to be ripped off, lied to, berated, yelled at, laughed at, and job canceled in the middle of the project, then run as far away from ServPro as possible. If I could give them a negative 1 million star review, I would. This review is for both their Mitigation and Construction teams, but mainly their construction team. For context, we were told for both mitigation and construction it would be a 7-10 job. The mitigation team said it was a 1-2 day job ended up being 4 1/2 days (started 4/14/25, finished 4/18/25). They did such a poor job they had to send a project manager to do basic sanitation, that the original team failed to do. The main issue, the construction team. Their estimator, Will Nelson, "Superintendent" Darrin Douglas, and their boss, Blake English, are about as incompetent as you can get. They were supposed to begin 4/21/25, but didn't even start until 4/28/25. First up, Will Nelson, he came out to do the estimate to fix our bathroom after it would be taken down the studs. He left so many things off the estimate it's laughable. One example, they listed to install a new tub but didn't put to remove the old tub, which they of course tried to charge us $5000 more to remove it but then said they couldn't find a plumber to remove the tub. We will circle back to Will. Next up, Darrin Douglas. This guy did not do a single thing he said he would, I had to call/text him daily because he would not communicate about the project, he never provided a schedule/timeline of the project. One simple example, he told me he had ordered our flooring and shower tile and it was ready to be picked up, come to find out, he literally never ordered it, even though we had paid half of the project up front. Then on Good Friday, while I'm living out of a hotel waiting on them to begin their work, Darrin and Will call me at 7 pm and proceed to berate me and my wife on the phone, arguing with us, yelling at us, trying to justify them messing up the estimate being so messed up. The phone call got so bad I was forced to hang up, which prompted Darrin to send me a text saying we had 3 options, move forward with their messed up estimate, pay the extra $5k for the tub removal, or they would cancel the job. Again, this is on Good Friday. We decide to move forward as is just to end this nightmare. Enter Blake English, Darrin's boss. After a literal full week of them not doing a single thing on our bathroom (4/21-4/28) while we were living in a hotel, we had to speak with Blake in hopes to move the project forward. We go back and forth with him, he tells us Darrin is his best "Superintendent," and he will talk with him and correct his actions and communication. Well that didn't work, Darrin still didn't communicate or do anything he said he would. It got to the point Blake had to come to our home, with Darrin, to address the major issues we were having. As we were all standing our bathroom trying to get a game-plan, after raising his voice to me and my wife, in our home, Darrin then proceeded to laugh in my wife's face about a concern she had. I turned to Darrin and asked "did you just laugh at my wife," to which he replied "yea, I did." I turned to Blake and said "this is your best superintendent? This is what we've been dealing with for a month now." Darrin continues to yell at us, so much so, Blake told Darrin "that's enough, you need to go stand outside," to which Darrin promptly continued to yell at us, IN OUR OWN HOME. Darrin finally left and Blake said he'd talk to Darrin about this attitude and lack or professionalism. The following week, they finally began to work on 4/28 and on 5/1 I get a call from Blake at 7 pm saying they are no longer working with the contractor who was assigned to our project and that it "would be best for all parties if we cancel your job and refund your money. You are the only customer we are offering this to, everyone else is being reassigned to a new contractor. If you decide to continue with ServPro it will take a few weeks to get reassigned to a new contractor." So literally 3 days after starting work, in the middle of the project, after being lied to, yelled at, no working being done for a full week they then tried to cancel on us. We agreed to allow them to cancel and refund our money since they were so terrible, unprofessional, and rude. This was by far the worst experience of my entire life. They made a simple 7-10 day bathroom project a living nightmare, that lasted weeks, that they ended up canceling. This is the readers digest version, trust me you do not want to use this company. I was sexually harassed on numerous amount of occasions and a proper investigation was not taken place . I reported the incidents to Danny in hopes of things getting resolved and it was not and in return matters got worse . I reported it to HR only to find out those same employees are still employed there . When I reported the last incident to Danny the next day I was told to not come in and I've been let go . I was told this by a crew chief Destiny and a fire tech was next to her hy the name of Emily . I was told to ask Jazmine who was my reporting crew chief and she confirmed I was let go or essentially fired by Danny . I tried to speak with him and he was in a meeting so I went to HR instead . I've been racially profiled , bullied , outcasted , sexually harassed , ignored , treated in the worse manner while working for your company and nothing was done about it . I suffered financially and mentally hardships and inconvenienced . Because of being ignored when matters got worse and pushed to the side it made the work place a hostile and unwelcoming invornment . I read the handbook that was revised and republished this year and within days of the first incident and it vividly describes and displays the company Servpro has a zero tolerance for all of the things I've been dealing with and have been through while working there . It displays that sexual harassment is not tolerated and won't be allowed and will be dealt with on the highest level I find that very misleading because when it was me NOTHING was done not an investigation not a sit down with me or the other party . On occasions where I've been mistreated by management nothing was done . I was talked to as if I was a child , ignored , cigarette smoke blown in my face , told to do things with little to no respect at all . I've been disrespected by Michelle and Evan . There are other things I've dealt with as well but it's so depressing and sadden to relive and talk about still to this day . With that being said I am seeking legal action it's disappointing gathering not one person reached out in response to the situation and the complaints I've reported . My life has been altered it has been changed because of this job . I suffer from depression anxiety and barely sleep because of the unwelcoming environment and the people you have hired to over see the teams and facilitate the company . I've reached out to E EOC , NAACP , State of Alabama , Veteran affairs because I am a veteran and a pleather of other representatives who are on board with this matter. - Nearly 1075 days trying to get MY HOME REPAIRED! Tornado Damage from 3/25/21! Poor workmanship by all trades! Three (3) completely new roof before the Shelby County could approve the workmanship! This story continues! The chimney was not installed properly causing 3 returns by different company's! Inspector found County Requirements not properly followed. One could have caused a fire in the chimney with 2x4's less and 1/2"s next to the flue! Failed to have the gutters installed properly! They had to be taken down and new ones installed. Scores of commitments to be there to perform work... missed. Four (4) supervisors assigned...over the 1000 plus days! Poor installation of plumbing work....causing more work and repairs! Electrical work - 1st ElectricIan had 27 failures! The LVT work was done so poorly causing them to replace the entire home with all new LVT and padding! This is the oldest open "Job" for Servpro! DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! I hired Servepro to do the necessary deconstruction, drying out and mold containment for my home after it was flooded by hurricane IAN. To be fair they completed the deconstruction portion of the job appropriately; however after paying thousands to them to remove any remaining moisture and spray for mold, within a few days of the job completion moisture and mold were found in my home. I made numerous attempts to contact them and request a refund for the specific moisture control and mold spraying charges. They have refused any refund. I am extremely disappointed and dismayed in their work and total lack of willingness to settle this dispute. I would never hire them again. In order to make my home inhabitable I had to contract with another company to redo their incompetent job. I do not usually write reviews but felt very strongly that I needed to warn others not to deal with this company. read more

Chase Zeegers the content manager here and whole tram just did an outstanding job on our house in Lakewood Estates in Chelsea. All packed with care and heavy furniture and over 100 boxes taken off site stored by their contract moving company. Then contracted floor company sanded, stained and sealed entire main level of house and moved us back in. The pack out ladies were also great to work with as were movers who I wouldn't have liked to have been cause furniture pieces were huge. I definitely recommend this company and Chase you will be missed here for sure. I know your last day was yesterday. I wish you a bright future. So if you have damage at your house take the recommendation and use this company!! I went with ServPro because my insurance company sent them out to access the damage. This was in May of 2021. I will not waste time going thru the entire story but it was awful. My floors were finally done again in 2022 after all the faulty work done previously by them. It was so bad I had to call an attorney. I was left with concrete flooring waiting on them to finish 7 months later and now we are in 2023 and my floors are awful. Please don't use them. I have pictures of everything and if you want to see send me a message. I'm a single mother with a son who both had to walk on concrete floors for months. The manager and Superintendent came out to access the damage that was left by the subcontractors they hired. The quickly apologized and stated they would work on this right away. It's Feb of 2023 and I can see my floors are starting to come apart. This is unacceptable, if you just needed the insurance money just say that. read more

Hated dealing with them. They broke things that they didn't need to. Their workers would go into my garage and take MY tools to use, then leave them all over the house and in the yard. This continued even after I told them that this wasn't acceptable, until I finally told them to not come back. They also left windows and doors unlocked and then I was broken into and robbed. They would send an invoice to my insurance company then a week later would start harassing me for payment telling me it was past due. They cost me a lot of money and were a nightmare from start to finish. read more

They couldn't even fix the garage door right they had to get somebody else to do it and they didn't do it right it's still hard open. Where are they fixed the block on the house is still unlevel. Where do I even begin? They came out to do a clean up after a drunk driver hit our house. First the rep was 45 minutes late. When I called him he said that he told me the day before that he would "try to make it out" which was not what he said but ok. When they came to do the actual clean up we went by the house to check on things. They left gloves all over the floor, they didn't completely clean up one room, left boxes, threw big trash bags into my garbage can knowing we were there to take the trash out. Then one of the days they did a clean up they broke my key off inside of my door lock. We didn't know until two weeks later when my husband went by the house. When I called the rep furious no one told us he said, "I am sorry I thought someone called you." I feel like that is something someone should have followed up on. He came out to get the key out but when my lock was put back together it just wasn't the same. We ended up replacing our locks. They were the most frustrating to deal with during this whole ordeal. I had told them several times to call me regarding anything because my husband works nights. They'd continue to call him and wake him up. I waited to get our things back before I posted a review. We were victims of a tornado. Our home was damaged and so were a great deal of the items indoors. The remaining items were picked up and stored by Serve Pro. We were displaced for almost a year and were so glad to return home. We received our furniture and some or most were antiques. The whole living room set was damaged. So much so that a leg was broken off and our high back arm chair was ruined with tears more than a foot long. The dining room set was a keep sake and antique and the chairs and table were ruined. To top it off they took out our drapes and ruined all of them. The curtains hung were in the living room and dining room. They also destroyed kitchen, den and bathroom and two bedroom curtains. I had heard that they were good but nobody on my block thinks so. Others have missing furniture or damage items. I had a oriental rug that was ruined and a shaggy one for the den didn't show up. I really hurt because I am ill and was assured these items would be taken care of. I feel victimized. read more

My washer caused my appointment to flood. ServPro was on top of it and sent someone to check on the drying process everyday. Mr Jeff Rice was very flexible and worked with my schedule. Although they came out quickly, fans were in my home for over 3 weeks. They left my kitchen in a mess....floor 3/4 ripped up with nails sticking up all over the place, furniture moved and not returned, dust 2 inches thick, and yanked the dishwasher out before taking the screws out. Took 30 days to get someone to come stabilize the dishwasher...going on 60 days waiting for a cleaning crew. Needless to say I did it myself! They were able to find a plate they broke which I was very appreciative of. I got more attention from them when they wanted me to sign the back of the insurance check...imagine that! read more
