We were referred to CWF by A#1 Air. Project Manager Oscar showed up to assess the damage later that same day (Wednesday, Jan 17th)and walked us through the process. During his time here, we contacted our insurance company to file a claim which was initiated within 20 minutes with a representative over the phone. Since Oscar was present, it facilitated communication. Oscar gave us a two-hour window between 8am and 10am and said that we should expect to receive a call from dispatch informing us that they are on their way. He also took a series of pictures before he left so that he could inform the crew of the events that transpired. On Saturday, January 20th, the mitigation crew removed a portion of the engineered flooring that was affected and promptly placed industrial fans on and around it. They informed us that they would be back to pick up the equipment (in 4 days) after the area has completely dried and answered any questions we had. Kris, Sheldon, Gabriel, and Oscar were professional and knowledgeable - explaining everything about the process and I appreciate the time and patience they took on a Saturday morning to help us. Shout out to the team from Hukill's plumbing - Jordan and Joseph who came to help with some…read moreplumbing needs. What initially created the need for the call was a gas fireplace that would not ignite I had previously tried ChatGPT, called a chimney sweep company, and even called the previous owner of my house, all to no avail. Within a few minutes of of arriving, Jordan was able to locate the hidden shut off for the gas fireplace and get it working pretty promptly. While here, he was able to notice a couple of other things that needed attention. My tankless water heater had been installed incorrectly by the previous plumber, and the technicians from Hukill's were able to manage that. And also, when it came to a clogged sink in our master bathroom, they were able to address that as well. By the end of our time together I had heard some good stories from Jordan, I was able to practice my French with Joseph and most importantly had a lot of small annoyances cleared up (literally) leaving my home in better functioning order than when they arrived. We hired Oates Restoration to paint our kitchen and bathroom cabinets, remove carpet and put down…read moretile from 5 bedrooms and 6 closets. To date the project is still not complete. The cabinets have been painted 3 different times due to not being properly prepped the first time. They seem to have fixed that so far. They grouted the entire house with the wrong color grout, we chose a shade of gray and it has come out white. Their solution was to stain the grout the proper color which we were willing to try. It has not worked and has been peeling off in every room. When that happened initially they came out to touch up the spots but it is continuing to peel off. The only reason they came out to fix things is because I had to threaten contacting an attorney. Throughout this entire process they have brushed me off with "let me check and I'll get back to you", flat out ignored me, and passing off blame on another employee of theirs. For the past month I have repeatedly asked when they will be out to touch up paint on the walls, every wall in every room, has spots where the original touch up they did is the wrong shade of paint, also to clean up overspray on the top of our refrigerator, and a financial compensation for someone else to come out and fix our grout plus compensation for cosmetic damage to our refrigerator. This experience with this company has been horrible and I would not wish them on my worst enemy.
