High ceiling. Very clean and spacious environment. Their top roping section goes pretty high. Their bouldering area is harder than most climbing gyms I've been to. The upstairs has a moon board and campus boards.

    Main room. High walls!

Totally awesome, complete gym with an airy, bright atmosphere. Even if I'm not climbing I love to sit, do some work and have the fun of being distracted by watching the activity around. Many outlets for charging devices, games, books and magazines to have fun with. Nice staff, often very busy with testing new climbers. Bring your own grigri or you can rent or buy one there. High 48' walls to build endurance, thoughtfully set on a scale realistically matched to outdoor climbing so it's more challenging than the San Rafael gym yet not as hard as the other Santa Rosa gym. I'm not much of a boulder climber but it looks challenging and well done too. Beautiful yoga room, exercise area, and decent pricing. It's not the closest to my home but I buzz up here from Marin when I can. Nitro cold brew, kombucha, Guayaki fizzy teas, bars and more available. I often wish there were a full coffee/chai bar in these gyms, but at least they have the cold brew. Enjoy your climb!

Selection!!! Half the building dedicated to bouldering, other for auto belay, top rope and lead. Love the routes! Whoever is setting these, great job I thoroughly enjoy them. Yoga is great, tried several different instructors. Has an app, use it to check in and sign up for classes. Upstairs kilter board, gym, yoga studio. Sauna in the bathrooms, I would recommend turning them on, then going to work out so it can heat up. Not a fan of waiting for them to sit around waiting for the temp to increase. Showers and towels available, different options for memberships, gear available for rent or purchase. Snacks, kombucha on tap, snacks for purchase and a pretty sweet hang out area, the whole place is very appealing and I love it! Came out here for a contract and was sad to leave my home gym "sessions" and found this gem!

Almost empty at 7:30 Monday morning

I visited Sessions for the first time while in town. The gym looks new and is well lit. Half is for climbing with ropes and belay, the other half is bouldering. I boulder twice a week at my usual gym, the excellent Seattle Bouldering Project, so I checked out the bouldering half of Sessions. The staff were friendly and helpful. The gym was almost completely empty at 7:00 on a weekday morning, which I found surprising. A day pass cost me $30 and they had a chalk bag to borrow. The mats under the bouldering walls are very thin and quite hard. Immediately that impacted my climbing as I was scared of falling. At my usual gym the mats are at least twice as thick and soft, so even falling from the top of the walls (taller walls than at Sessions), it doesn't hurt at all. I found my climbing ability to be less at Sessions because I wasn't willing to take the same risks and leaps of faith as I normally would do, again, for the fear of falling. The problems are fairly challenging with a lot of advanced routes. My gym uses a different grading method, so I don't know how to compare them. There is no rhyme or reason to the colors they choose for the routes, so instead of looking at the wall and seeing quickly which ones I could target, I had to walk up close and scrutinize the small labels at the bottom indicating level. I got the hang of it fast enough, but it is definitely less intuitive than grading by color.

The opposite side of the place.

The staff are awesome, the one who welcomed me in. Provided me with such affirmation and detail into the day at the place. Amazing job! Thanks for the assist.

Great yoga class with Shannon today! She is the best teacher in Sonoma County and I love the room where she teaches at Session.

A variety of routes and a good opportunity to climb without fear of falling using the autobelay.

The locker rooms are riddled with lockers that don't lock. The water fountains don't work. The bathroom sinks have no hot water and such low water pressure you can't even wash your hands. Things never get fixed. Treadmills down for several months. Saunas and steam rooms down for months at a time. Complaints are ineffective and downright useless. Hot tubs always have murky cloudy water. The floor surfaces in the men's locker room are extremely slippery, and conducive to falls and broken bones. The bench in the men's Handicap shower is literally falling out of the wall and needs to be propped up with another bench to keep from slamming down and shattering a knee cap. If you dare to sit on it, it could easily fall out of the wall causing a broken back or spinal injury. The steam room is ripe, dirty, and NEVER hot enough. And they keep raising the rates If you're thinking of joining, forget it. Things are bad and just keep getting worse. Working out is supposed to be energizing and uplifting. Instead, I usually leave angrily because this place is so poorly managed. I hope they change for the better soon, but probably will not happen.

We were staying at the Flamingo Hotel for the night and this place is located next door. My massage was very relaxing and my mom enjoyed her massage as well, both different types and methods of service. After my massage, I hung out in the waiting room and outdoor lounge area. We started off her birthday weekend with massages and it set the tone for a very relaxing and fun time in Santa Rosa.
