I looked around and this place seemed good so I called for information and got a call back super quick. Everyone I spoke with was very helpful... and optimistic. Haha... The place is tucked in a neighborhood down a small street, but it has a private parking lot. There are 4 lessons a month billed monthly. I wasn't sure what to expect with my daughter being the unknown variable because of her age, but the teacher was professional and nice. However, my nugget stopped being excited as soon as she learned she couldn't just "play" freestyle and had to listen to an adult. So, even though kids as young as 4 can start one-on-one lessons... it's up to the individual. Definitely not for mine. We decided to stay but switched over to a group music class geared for toddlers - they have 2, one for 3 and the other for 4 year olds where they learn music basics while having fun. They let us take free trial classes of both until we could decide. My nugget's in the 3 year old one because she never had classroom experience before and she seems to enjoy it - definitely more than the one-on-one lesson, for sure. If she's still interested in a few years, we'll revisit piano but for now, the group lessons are good. The classes are not exactly "cheap", but it is as expected. The teachers are all knowledgeable and engaging, though I feel bad sometimes. My nugget is free spirited and... wild if she's in the mood. The group classes have gotten larger, which is noticeable since they're in a small room, but attendance fluctuates. So far, it isn't a huge cause for concern - what with the pandemic and all. Overall, I will definitely look here for music lesson needs and we are pretty happy so far.

Consider hiring teachers independently or looking elsewhere. The teachers here are great but your…read moremoney certainly isn't going to them, it's going to the faceless higher-ups. Both of my kids (ages 7 and 9) absolutely loved the camp with Mr. Sal. He is incredible with children, engaging, funny, and truly passionate about fostering a genuine love for music. They learned far more than I expected in such a short time, and the weekly recitals were a highlight, giving parents the chance to hear the kids play and sing. It's easily one of the best summer camps in Bellaire. The experience inspired both of my kids to continue their musical journey. My 7 year old now takes piano lessons with Mr. Sal, while my 9 year old studies with Mr. Roscoe. Although they have different teaching styles, each approach perfectly matches my children's personalities and learning needs. We couldn't be happier with our experience at Texas School of Music.

She studied first with Ms Estefania and later Ms Michelle, and both have been incredible with setting progressive yet realistic goals, clear communication with parents, and most importantly making classes fun and something my daughter is happy to come to every week. There are multiple performance opportunities a year, which is a big confidence booster and makes the repetitive practicing of a single piece very rewarding. The receptionist, Ms Bonnie, is also very sweet and helpful; even my younger daughter, who doesn't take music lessons, loves to come in and hang out. Thank you TSM!

Jill is such a wonderful teacher and my daughter looks forward to class every week. We knew very early on (barely a few months old) that our daughter responds really well to music as all babies do. She especially loved any live music when we were around it, and here was the opportunity for her to have her own personal musical concert every week! She is enthralled by Jill's voice, and her eyes follow her around the room wherever she goes. Jill has a special way with babies and is able to draw them out and give each student special one on one attention. I can't say enough great things about Musik-Go-Round. The songs, dances, and movements have become an integral part of our weekly routine and we always look forward to sharing that time with Jill and the other babies! It's a stimulating experience for the babies without being overly stimulating. Spending that time together has become a relaxing time and I always enjoy watching her reactions.
