Chris is awesome. When I started with him about 2 years ago, I was pretty anxious, hesitant and intimidated about even stepping foot in a gym. But Chris is a super kind and personable person and a really encouraging and thoughtful trainer. He taught me a lot about why we were doing what we're doing and the underlying mechanics of our workouts. The combination of his knowledge, personality and training style have completely turned me around. I now look forward to working out and I've even changed my diet for the better. My body shape is completely different, I've got tons of energy and stamina and I feel super healthy. If you're the type of person that is intimidated by working out or going to the gym, I can't recommend Chris enough, he'll get you excited about getting in shape and it'll be the best decision you could make for your health and longevity. read more

I've been working out with Chris for a few months now and I'm incredibly grateful for the growth in confidence I've seen in myself. I've struggled with my weight all my life, and I've struggled to make fitness a lifestyle rather than a part-time hobby, and I'm finally starting to feel like I can be in charge of both of those things. Because of my weight, I've been pretty gun-shy when it comes to going to the gym, but he's helped me get over that roadblock through equipment knowledge and consistent motivation. Highly recommend anyone sign up for sessions with him! read more

Sets and Reps Personal Training - Trainers Near Me - North Hollywood , California

Chris is the BEST personal trainer I could have ever asked or hoped for. He does not simply focus on leading me through a series of exercises. Rather, he takes a well-rounded approach of accessing my overall heath, fitness level, and goals to develop an exercise program that is tailored to my abilities and needs. In addition, he has helped me create healthier eating habits by providing me with resources on nutrition and examples of well-balanced meals. When I first started working with Chris in February 2017, I was at 250 pounds, depressed and suffering from social anxiety. I knew that I needed to lose weight and work to improve my overall physical and mental health, but I didn't know where to begin. Just the thought of going to a gym was terrifying to me. Thinking it might be easier for me to work with someone one on one, I began researching personal trainers. But even that option was frightening. I was not only extremely nervous and anxious about meeting someone new, but also terrified at the idea of exercising in front of that person for fear that that person would laugh at me or judge me. I was afraid that my anxiety/depression would get the best of me, and result in the trainer not wanting to deal with my issues. This fear was so strong that it took me two months to send an initial email inquiry to Chris. Yes, two months! However, I have to say that finally gathering the courage to contact Chris was one of the best decisions of my life. I warned Chris about my physical and mental issues and he has never once judged me or done anything to make me feel worse when I'm having a rough time of it. On the contrary, he is forever kind, patient, encouraging and supportive. But, don't be fooled - Chris is as tough as he is nice. Whenever I think I cannot do another squat, lunge or really horrible attempt at a push-up, he not only makes me do it, he increases the reps on me! He does not ever let me cheat myself out getting a good workout in. Due to my weight and my body not being used to exercising regularly, I have suffered a few physical setbacks here and there. During these times, Chris is always careful about assessing my physical issues/limitations and then modifies the exercises that I do to ensure I still workout, but don't do anything that will make matters worse. He also gives me stretches/exercises to do on my own to help me heal. From the start, my goal has been to lose weight and feel better (physically and mentally). And, I can say without a doubt that I am slowly but surely making progress toward these goals. To date, I have lost 50 pounds, I sleep better, and while I continue to have bouts of depression and anxiety, they are less frequent and less severe. I know that I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but I also know that I could not have accomplished what I have thus far without Chris' fitness expertise and endless encouragement. I am and will always be grateful. If you are looking for a skilled personal trainer who cares about helping reach your goals, Chris is that person. P.s. Full disclosure - Chris does have some faults. They aren't deal breakers, but you should be prepared. * If you say you don't like a particular exercise, he will say, "That's okay" and make you do them anyway! * He loves to "motivate" by playing theme music while you exercise (e.g. the music that plays while Rocky runs up the stairs to the entrance to the Philadelphia Museum of Art). * Sometimes he will sing - off key. * He has a fascination with the idea of eating insects for protein. I have been with Chris for about 8 months now. He's great! I don't think I've been in this good of a physical condition since I was a child! I started out being unhappy with running, quickly out of breath, and politely pudgy. I'd been that way most of my life. I can now actually run and do exercises happily! Chris made the whole experience fun, enjoyable, and educational. He's wonderfully positive and extremely helpful. The results have been great mentally, physically, and aesthetically. It's been so much fun buying smaller and smaller clothing sizes over the months! In addition to being a great help in the gym, he's been amazing helping steer my exercise and nutrition outside of my workout sessions. He's always quick to answer any questions via text! I would recommend Chris to anyone looking for a trainer. He's awesome! read more

oh my GOSH! If you haven't seen the results, feel the burn or have support then you definitely aren't being trained by Chris. He has not only helped me exceed my goals but has been the best at reminding me how I can stay there... I wasn't surprised when he was texting me to remind me what to NOT to eat. His knowledge extends to all his clients, even when it's after hours I can always reach Chris with a question. I went from your typical machine using, commercial gym membership with no changes to losing about multiple pounds a week & improving my form to lift with confidence when i'm on my own. read more

I met Chris through a break of dawn bootcamp class that he taught. I am not your typical morning person but Chris motivated me to get up every morning and head to the park for a kick ass training session. Recently, I hired Chris to train me twice a week and he would drive to my house and train in the garage. His personality and experience was a great motivator to kick start my workout goals and I learned a lot of great workouts from him. As a plus, Chris also gave me great advice on nutrition and even volunteered to take me grocery shopping to learn more about nutrition. I look forward to continuing to work with Chris in the future and hope he starts up another bootcamp soon! read more

I've been training with Chris for a little over two months now. I see him three times a week presently. Having him as my trainer completely changed my view on working out. If you're someone who has been on the dieting and weight loss loop before you know how repetitive and disheartening the lose-gain-lose-gain cycle can be, tracking every fluctuation on the scale... With Chris, I've finally stopped obsessing about the numbers and just been happy to do the work, and the results are so much better! Right now I can only do 30 min sessions with him, but if I could I'd do a full 60 minutes. He's encouraging and understanding: he pushes you to do more than you thought you could, but he also respects your limits and adapts the session to your needs; I'm never worried I'll be injured after a session with him but I also feel secure knowing that he makes every half hour really count. I've loved the past two months and I can't wait to see what the future holds. Really can't recommend him enough, Chris rocks! read more

Chris is the best! He's not only a very knowledgeable fitness/health expert, he also knows how to create an encouraging environment that motivates you to achieve your fitness goals. I have been training with Chris for almost a year and so glad he was assigned to me through Feel The Burn. Chris is very knowledgeable on his expertise which is fitness. During training, he's very professional (too professional sometimes and tell him he does not have to be so formal) and is able to explain what the workout is doing to your body and/or specific part of the body that you are working out. He's not intimidating like most trainers are. Very friendly and good, chill personality. He is motivating and always makes sure the sweat and pain will be worth it. Obviously, you have to do your part too in losing weight, gaining muscle and/or whatever fitness goal you have and Chris is definitely a great supplement/extra push to get the body you want. Not to mention, Chris is always accommodating when it comes to scheduling. Work hours and personal events can often get in the way but Chris will always work with my schedule so I don't miss a workout. read more

I have been working with Chris for about 5 months and I could not have asked for a better, more knowledgeable, or professional trainer to work with! I have several chronic health issues, along with challenges involving my schedule, and the fact that I have always been clumsy and generally hate exercise made finding a good trainer difficult. He was aware of all these issues and made a very personalized plan for me that suited my needs, and constantly checked in to make adjustments and make sure my health needs were being met throughout. When I had started with him, I had lost about 20 pounds on my own by watching what I ate and doing light cardio. I had plateaued on the weight loss for about 6-7 months and was getting frustrated with the lack of progress. I was also pretty weak and lacked overall stamina. Chris immediately got me working the hardest I ever worked, helped me rebalance my eating, and pushed me farther than I thought I was ever capable of going. He also taught me to reevaluate what's important, as I was hyper focused on weight loss rather than stamina, strength, endurance, energy level, how my clothes fit, and overall fat percent. I have lost 16 pounds, 3 body fat points, my energy is much better, and a lot of the symptoms associated with my health issues have improved greatly. I am forever grateful to Chris for helping improve my overall health and outlook on life. Thanks Chris! read more
